During the moment of her fathers words, Hali began to feel as if she had been forgotten about; as if her presence here wasn't even there until Larkspur had showed. The day she had returned; she had been here ever since, playing with the pups and being the sister she was always suppost to be. Why she felt this she didn't know, but she did feel it and wished she hadn't. ** Stepping from her mother, now knowing that things were fin eon her end, and now father, Hali takes a seat a few feet back giving them both space. Looking up, she takes notice of the worn stance of her father as she glances by; raising a brow for a moment she wonders if something is wrong though it remained unasked feeling it to be the wrong time to ask. Her attention drawn on her sister and pups once more, a smile takes the place of her worry before her ears perk at the sound of her father looking up to him. "It hasn't been that long since we have seen one another father.." Or has it been longer than she had realized; or perhaps age was finally catching up to him. Her tone soft she continued, "But I must agree. It is good to see you again as well."
Peering down to Riko, giving the girl a gentle smile, Hali holds in her laughter. Larking being green too... so much for being a commodity. Drawing her attention back upon her sister as she begins to speak, she raises a brow to the mention of exciting news. Glancing to her parents, Hali waits a quick moment before turning back to Lark, ears up right. Starting her own pack.. with Haze; that was certainly news but who was this Haze fellow, she's obviously never met him. "Your own pack... how... Lark, you can't." The tone in her voice clearly shocked. Unsure of what to say or how to even say it, she stands. "How can you start a pack with someone I haven't even met?" She questions Lark in a sisterly fashion. What was wrong with this one? "And what about us.. your just going to leave.. what about what we think, mom, dad and me.." She turns to Storm and Felstride the moment she brings them up for their reaction to this. Hali obviously didn't want her sister to leave even though they saw little of each other, it was seen through her eyes. It was knowing that she'd be the only one left from her litter still at home; with nothing going for her that she was aware of; that bothered her.
Halidari was happy for her sister, however, no matter how she felt. She had just wished she has spent more time with her first.

Since Riko's question was address by the others already, Felstride offers little in the way of assurance for his girl pup, save a gentle nose at her side. When he lifts his head, he blinks, almost blearily, turning to Halidari with slightly wrinkled brows. The old wolf listens to her a moment then a light smile blooms across his muzzle as he shakes his head, "No, no, Halidari. I mispoke. I meant that it is good to see you both together again. The world has very little time for family, it seems," he finishes quietly, voice traling off to offer his older daughter a soft brush against her shoulder, but his attention is again distracted over to Larkspur at the mention of news. The dark wolf takes a shallow breath and lifts his head, his stance tall, proud, as he gazes over at his other daughter a few paces off, ears tipping forward in acknowledgement of her news to come. And he listens. Those same ears tip to Halidari, and her surprised protests. And he listens. His eyes blink to Larkspur, to Halidari, and back again, deeply rimmed in black and coolly contemplative. For a while the old wolf says nothing, probably agonizingly painful for Larkspur, but eventually that soft smile again ghosts across his gray-tipped muzzle, "I thought as much," he offers only at first, glancing to Storm briefly before he continues. "I admit I was unfair to you and to Haze those few seasons back, but I thought I was doing best for my family. I see that I did not give the boy a fair enough chance. I had thought you would come back to tell me this and I was only waiting for when. You have always been a free spirit, Larkspur, and you, Halidari," Felstride notes, turning to the girl at his side. "I have been waiting for the time you both find your own places in this world, never having been truly at ease in these woods. But," he pauses, giving Larkspur a cool and steady look, "a new pack does not an old family make. You will visit?" he questions, lightly cupping his ears forward, managing to look almost sheepish.
Below, in the forest of long legs and large paws, Echo continues to play with Riko's ears before he's given a squeaky what-for and he rolls off his litter-mate with a silent and impish little grin. He bats at her chest fluff and nuzzles under one of her forelegs, wholly ignoring the mild tension floating above them. Oh, he can hear and feel the goings on, of course, but the white pup chooses better things to focus on... like a stray leaf that goes by in the breeze that he reaches out with a stiff foreleg to catch and pin down. WHAMcrunchsquish. Mm. Smells like dirt.

It's enough for Riko that Larkspur is deemed 'green' -- she's not old enough to care about new packs or previously-unknown family members going away again. She huffs into Echo's fur in mock-offense, sitting back down as he shifts away. Dark ears follow his pounce on the leaf, listening to it crunch under pale paws. Riko leans down in the vicinity of his paws to sniff at Echo's prey -- it does smell like dirt, at least now -- then straightens up and pounces on Echo. She can find him; little things like leaves are futile targets for her, this time of day.

Storm smiles as she watches the pups, there so cute when there this age, not that she doesn't love her older children as well mind you. Her ears prick as she listions to Lark as she talks about how she and Haze plan on starting a pack. At first she is surprize by this talk, she wasn't expecting Lark to leave for good after all. Though she had a feeling it would happen at some point seeing how Lark and Haze was always getting into trouble as pups.
The alpha looks to Halidari, maw twitching slightly at the reaction from her and she takes in a faint breath before letting her attention go back to Larkspur, a faint smile soon offered while Felstride speaks. "I should have known it would happen sooner or later." This said with a soft yet warm tone. "I understand how you feel Lark, your father and I only wish you and Haze the best." Starting a new pack won't be easy, Storm should know seeing how it took nearly forever to get Lazuli going strong. "I do hope you plan on visting often.." If not she could always go searching for her tovist, and knowing Storm she most likely will. She looks to Halidari and smiles. "Even though it will be sad for Lark to go but everyone does find there paths even if it takes them away from home."

Hali's reaction makes Lark's earth coloured ears slick back against her head. "Hali...I just... I'm not doing this to abandon you, or our family." Her voice is tinged with hurt and desperation. She was worried they would take it this way! Felstride's stretch of contemplation nearly kills the shewolf. Who knew her heart could beat so quickly? Anxious for a reply, she shifts from paw to paw. Sighing audibly when he finally speaks, a grin erupts on her muzzle. Stopping momentarily to make sure there are no pups underfoot, she steps forward to give the alpha a grateful nuzzle. "Of course I'll visit. Just because I'm leaving with Haze doesn't mean I don't love you guys anymore. You're my family." She glances at her sister, making sure Hali realizes that they will still see each other. Smiling at her mother, she nods. "As soon as we're settled, I'll be back. Promise." The wolf's tail sways happily, reassured by her parents' responses. Hopefully Hali won't be too upset for very long. Her gaze drops to the two pups, smiling at their playful antics.

Well of course; it was good to see her sister and self together again in the same area, but how long would it last. Surely not long enough. As for the world having little time for family, Hali would have to agree. A soft smile given to the brush of her shoulder, her attention is yet again drawn to Lark. The news, Hali's protest; what was to be said next. Hearing what her father had to say, she blinks, it came as a slight surprise that he had no protest of his own. He was calm and expecting, like he knew this day would come; and he was right. But it was only one of his daughters whos free spirit took her to new heights; the other remained with her family waiting.. yet waiting for what? Taking a seat once more, turning from father to sister, Halidari nods fairly to all things said wondering the exact same; would Lark come to visit? She would if she was the one leaving. It was her mother next that drew her attention; and again there was no protest. Seems every parent expects this children to live their own lives and eventually leave. As Storm speaks to her, Hali nods, looking to the ground slightly. If there was anything that Hali wanted, it was for everyone to stay; keep the family together.
Listening to her sister, Hali tries to put a smile to her words as she looks up. There was one question she wanted to ask, but she doesn't; she needed no answer, not yet. Upon hearing that Lark would indeed visit, a glimmer of hope returns to her eyes; there was still a chance. "I'm glad. Because I'm going to miss you to much for you not to." She adds a small chuckle to the end.

Larkspur's nuzzle is met with a soft, barely audible sigh, and Felstride almost seems to sink into the gesture with a tired gratefulness, but only for a moment as his daughter pulls away and he lifts his head to view a she-wolf who grew up while she was away. He blinks away something from his eyes, dust, perhaps, and again sees both his eldest daughters together again, and feels a contemplative sadness wash over him, though his face remains soft, gentle, and unchanged. To one, though, he gives a slightly long pause to. To Halidari, Felstride watches quietly and flicks one of his ears, wondering if, perhaps, as a pup, he was too hard on his children and, perhaps, dampened their spirits. To Hali', Felstride tries to smile warmly in reassurance, but his new and silent revelation has him ill at ease and, unknown to him, he shuffles from paw to paw. It's only for a moment, though, for the wold turns to view his mate by his side and touch his nose to hers, a pup-like gesture though it brings him comfort and a slight chuckle rises up from somewhere deep within him. Then, the pups underpaw are watched, greatfully, and the older wolf sways his tail gently, calmly, and finally flits his eyes to see the larger picture; his family. And then, he remembers, turning to Larkspur with a gentle question in his eyes, "Where will you be?" he croons, "The forest to the south and east is wide, though the mountains further south are already... occupied by Haze's pack. Are there lands further south, beyond the mountains?"
Below, in the forest of legs, Echo's attention is slammed away from his precious leaf when he's bowled over into the dirt, Riko flopped on top of him. He wheezes out through his nose and manages to wrap his gangly forelimbs around her shoulders in a great bear hug, mouthing at her paws and anything near by. The adult world above them, in the canopy, goes largely unheeded, though looking closely one might be able to see the white pup's ears ticking in time to those talking, and perhaps realize he's listening more than one might imagine. His task at hand, however, is Riko, and he rolls around in the dirt and moss and crunchy dead leaves, taking his litter mate with him. RWAR.

Echo may be paying attention to the grown-ups. Riko's attention is wholly focused upon Echo - it has to be, if she's going to hold her ground against him. She grunts as Echo rolls them over, attempting to keep his maw from closing on her paws, legs, fur, or anything else. For the most part, that just means her paws flail rather wildly. Whenever the dark pup thinks she has a good chance, she tries to nip at Echo's fur in return.

Storm smiles and nuzzles Felstride back, his rather cute when he does this. Her tail sways about a few times while she takes in a breath before looking back to Lark and Hail. "I know your vist Lark.. But we still have to ask you know?" She tilts her head, ears perking as she wonders where Lark and Haze will wind up. A glance is offered to Riko and Echo and she lowers her head to nose at Riko's side faintly.
