Seven- male wolf
Kasim- male cougar
There was a fight on this place... The strong scent of blood makes it evident, and the few stains of blood on the ground. It's like a path, a really long distance now. Seven wanted to go with Hali and apologize, but it was too late. He's already lost so much blood that he can't keep on. So the trail of blood comes to an end where the white wolf lies still, flopped on one side and not moving.
Kasim, on the other hand, has been doing great. These past few days have certainly been eventful for the cougar, what with finding his friends again, falling in love, and getting a mate. Plus, there's the exciting news about Lark and Haze starting a new pack. Yep, things have been pretty swell for Kasim the past few weeks. For now, he's wandered off from the oasis to let everyone get some rest but also to explore around the area, since he hasn't gotten the chance to yet. His happy mood, however, takes a turn southward when the cougar suddenly smells... blood. Uh-oh. Quickly looking around for the source, Kasim soon finds the bleeding wolf and, on closer examination, realizes it's someone he knows. "Seven!" he calls out loudly, dashing to his side. Wow, what happened to him that put him in this bad of shape.
That's an easy question, someone should ask it or something. But the wolf is not about to stand up and point the finger to any direction. There's no response from the wolf at first, he could hear the cougar's voice, but that's about it, no response at all. But inside Seven's mind, there's something that calls to him, "Hali...?" No, that's not her voice, but still, it's a familiar voice, not to mention that his name was the one in the wind. The wolf does look bad, no serious wounds on his neck or spine, but the rest has some deep cuts that have made him lose a lot of blood, "I was... Looking for you." He mutters softly as he looks at the cougar.
He was looking for him? Why would Seven come all the way out here just to find him? Unless... no that can't be it. Seven wouldn't do that... would he? "No Seven it's me, Kasim," he says hurriedly to the injured wolf. Wow, he's /really/ not looking too good. Kasim wants to help him... but he's at a loss on ideas on what to do. The cougar looks around the area to see if the attacker is still here and, upon seeing no one, he looks back down at Seven and asks, "Seven, what happened to you? /Who/ did this to you?"
He KNOWS who it is he's talking about. Seven lets out a soft chuckle as he hears the cougar's first words, "I know it's you..." Of course, if not, he'd be snarling at the cougar, if he were Vel of course. The wolf closes his eyes again, shutting them tight and thinking about Hali, he'd hope to see her before... Well, "You know who... I. . . Tried to kill him." And look what happened!
Kasim had a hunch who might have done this to the wolf, but he had hoped he was wrong. That's three friends that Velefar has hurt so far and that doesn't sit well with the cougar one /bit/. "Velefar," he growls out with loathing behind his voice. How much madness will go on? Then, when Seven said that he tried to kill him, Kasim is a little stunned. "You /WHAT/?!" Is he stupid?! Just look what Vel did to Hali! Wait a minute... is /that/ why he's here? To somehow make Velefar pay for what he did to Hali? What a fool. Shaking his head slightly, Kasim says, "You shouldn't have done that. Just look where it got you." But that's not what’s important now. He needs to get Seven somewhere safe soon or... he could die. "Can you walk at all Seven? Maybe just stand up?"
The first part hurt him, Seven knew what he was up to when he decided to come find that damn cougar, he already knew something this was going to happen, but was exactly the point, after what happened with Hali, with Shoshuna, and then with Lyka. When bad things happen, you can either fix them or just give up on them, which is exactly what he tried to do, just find peace. The wolf CAN'T stand up, he can't even move, he's cold, numb and he doesn't even have the desire to stand, "I'm not going anywhere..." He coldly says as his eyes fix directly on the cougar's, "It's too late Kas..."
He's already thinking he's going to die? That's not going to happen on Kasim's watch. Not while there's at least a chance he can survive this. "Don't say that Seven. You're a fool for coming here but you're more of a fool for thinking that you're going to die." Kasim's voice is stern but he means it in the most comforting way he can. He doesn't want Seven to die and he bets that the wolf doesn’t want to die either. He's probably just confused or something. The fact that Seven can't walk presents a big problem, but that won’t stop Kasim from trying. "Well if you can’t walk, then I'll just carry you. This might hurt a bit." And with that, Kasim goes to pick Seven up by the scruff on the back of his neck. He'll drag him back if he has to but he'll be damned if he leaves a fried to die.
Before the cougar gets a chance to hold his scruff, Seven takes a bite at the air, close to Kasim, letting a really soft growl. He won't let the cougar take him anywhere, he's not a fool for thinking this is it, he's a fool for wanting to be this day the last, "I said it's too late." He keeps his gaze on the cougar's eyes; he is serious compared to the other times Kasim talked with him, except the Velefar day, "I'm... Not going anywhere." He says softly, closing his eyes and resting his head on the ground, "Go home and tell her..." The truth? That will make her sad for sure, and Seven won't allow that to happen, "...Tell her I decided to stay out her new life. That I'm ... Sorry."
At the sudden snap from Seven, Kasim instinctively pulls away but it only makes him madder at the wolf. Why does he want to die? He still has a life ahead of him and if this is all because of what happened to Hali then he's making a big mistake. Seven's next words only continue to piss Kasim off but he can feel the beginnings of tears start up. "You can tell her that yourself when you make it out of this Seven. I'm going to help you and I don't care if I have to knock you unconscious to do so but I will /NOT/ leave you here to die. Understand?" Despite his voice being a bit shaky, Kasim sounds stern in what he's saying. His mind is made up and that's that. He once again tries to get at Seven's scruff, hoping that he won’t resist this time.
Well, it's not that easy, so once again, Seven snaps at the cougar, even putting some pressure on the ground to help his upper half stand from the ground, this time he doesn't just aim at the air, he actually wants to hurt the cougar so this time, he doesn't get any ideas of more chances. He's quite slow doing so, what can you expect from someone looking that, in a shape like that, with wounds that won't even let him stand... So it's more like a pitiful attempt to attack the cougar.
Why does he have to make this difficult?! If he really loved Hali like Kasim thought he did, then wouldn't he want to at least be her friend, even if she was with Lyk? Maybe that's why he wants to die, because he didn't get to be with Hali? Kasim tries to think of himself without Maul for a moment... he doesn't like the outcome. She was everything to him. Still, that's no excuse for Seven wanting to /die/. His resistance is slow and, therefore, gives Kasim time to try and swipe a paw across Seven's face, no claws of course. It's not enough to actually kill him, even in his bad state, but more of a way to slow him down and maybe even knock some sense into him.
It's like an action movie in Seven's eyes, he had the cougar's face so close, it was impossible to miss an attack like that, or at least that's what Seven thought. But going back to the action, the cougar's paw move in slow motion directly to his face now. No time to do anything really, just a loud grunt and a whimper once the paw strikes his face, making him immediately turn to the other direction. Thud! His head hits the ground, groaning, breathing ever heavier now, "Leave me alone Kas..." He growls to the cougar, now he's not able to see him, if not, he'd be glaring this time, "Please..." Even if he were glaring, tears come from his eyes now, "I want to be alone... Just with the Wind."
He doesn't like what he does to Seven. He never likes striking any of his friends for any reason at all... but it had to be done. Kasim will most certainly beat himself up in the morning for this, but he knows it will only be worse if he didn't do anything. As Seven goes back down to the ground, the cougar can only stare down at him. "Seven... your making a mistake. I don't know why you suddenly want to die, but what I /do/ know is that no one wants you to do this. I don't want it, Lyk doesn't want it, and I'm /sure/ Hali doesn't want it either. I want to help you but dying isn't the way out of your problems; it only creates more. Please Seven, I'm begging you to let me help." If Seven could see him, he'd see tears starting to show themselves in Kasim's eyes. This is the first time the cougar has been in this type of situation, and he's admittedly scared about what might happen. He can't let that happen, he /won't/ let that happen.
There's not much a choice in this actually, Kasim can't do anything if Seven doesn't let him. The wolf starts sobbing once the cougar mentions Hali, he's right on that, and it hurts him to think about her, he doesn't want her to see him like this, it's better if Kasim just tells them that he went away, he knows it. Seven doesn't turn, keeping his head away from the cougar's and obviously hiding his tears from him, "It's too late... Just go and tell her what I told you." He's begging actually, he wants Kasim to lie, he hopes the cougar does what's been requested of him, "Don't... Let her know what happened, please." Taking a deep breath, he calms down, his breathing going slow now, "Just do it and leave me alone... I... Want to spend the last minutes with the wind."
By now, Kasim is full out crying. Is this really it for the wolf? Does he really want it that badly that he'd just give up already? Why would he want to do this? "So you're just giving up now?!" he says, rather fiercely. "You're just going to sit here and die and not even think about how this will affect those close to you. You're just going to turn your back on your friends, on those who love you?!" Then, Kasim just bursts into tears. This can't be happening, it just can't. He hasn't known Seven for that long, but enough to want to talk him out of it. After all, they're friends, right? "Please Sev... don't leave us. Think about everyone, about Hali. You have friends that love you and care for you and would be devastated if you died. Please, let me help you."
It's not because of that, Seven knows there's not turning back now. What's the problem with the cougar, is he blind or something? Can't he see the seriousness of his wounds? Not to mention the trail of blood behind the wolf? He's a goner, just open your eyes and see... The wolf can smell the tears, he can hear the cougar's voice shaking which is not what Seven wanted to happen... No more tears, no more sadness because of him, curse the cougar for having to find him in that situation... The wolf thinks... It's too late, he knows it, he can feel it in his body, the way he's been feeling dizzy for the last ten minutes, "Just go Kasim... There's no way to fix things now. And don't tell her."
Well if Seven would just let him help, that would stop Kasim from being sad. But, alas, it looks like Seven has made his mind up. What's wrong with him? Velefar couldn't have had /this/ big of an effect on him, right? Did something else happen while Kasim was away, searching for the cure? He always seems to miss important stuff while he's away. Even though the cougar can plainly see all the blood lost and deep wounds, he just doesn't want to give up yet. He just somehow knows that there's a way to help with all that somehow, but Kasim is no medic and just doesn't know what it would be. Still, he's not ready to throw in the towel just yet. "Please Sev, can't we just... talk about it. What happened between you and Hali? I know she has Lyk, but you can't honestly feel that depressed to go through with this." His voice is shaky and he's still crying, but Kasim tires his best to stop the tears from coming.
What's the matter with him!? Can't he just leave the poor half dead wolf alone? Seven sighs, thinking, repeating the cougar words in his head again. No, he didn't fight Hali, nothing happened between him and Hali before he left, it's Shoshu's fault dammit! The wolf shakes his head, shifting his paws so he can rest his head on top of them, "Just go..." He doesn't need nor he wants to explain anything, things are the way they are and that's about it, end of story.
So... this is it. Seven just doesn't want to talk with him and has already made up his mind. He's just going to sit here and die. Why won't he just listen to Kasim?! He's offering a way to help but Sev just won’t listen. It's clear to Kasim now that, no matter how hard he tires, Seven will just keep telling him to leave. He's done all he can. Bowing his head in defeat, Kasim lets a few tears make their way down his muzzle. "I won't tell her. I'll say you just wanted to be out of her life or something. I'll leave you now but, please Seven, just think it over while you can. There are those who love you and don't want to see you leave them. I know I don't want you to go and neither does Hali. Please, just think it over. Good luck." And with that, Kasim turns away from the dying wolf and starts to head back to the oasis, he ears tucked down and his head drooping. He'll beat himself up about this for a while but, right now, he desperately needs comfort from Maul, even though he knows that she can't change what's happened.
It's no surprise if the cougar does beat himself up for this... He just abandoned a friend, and worst is... A friend who is involved with his others friends, so like, when he gets back, how will he face Hali and tell him that he saw Seven, if he keeps his promise, then how will he feel when he lies to the female and Lyka. Seven knows he asked for too much, but it had to be done, he already made Kasim feel sad for him, for not letting him help, which was the good thing. The wolf stays there, not that can actually walk away to the opposite direction or anything either, but still. Abandoned, alone, only the Wind is with him now, the Wind carrying her scent and her voice. Just as the cougar starts to retreat, the wolf closes his eyes, "Good luck to you too..." He manages to mutter, then adds with a whisper he won't let the cougar hear, "Thank you..." For what? For finally leaving? For saying that he won't allow Hali know the truth? Maybe there's even another reason, thank you for killing that son of a gun who hurt his girl... He knows Kasim will one day go out and look for him, call it a hunch, but the wolf knows things. He never lied; the Wind does tell him secrets about the forest and all the creatures living in it. So it is with a heavy sigh that the wolf starts humming, like always, if he'll die now, then he'll die doing on of the things he liked most, humming, being part of the Wind, letting his voice be carried to be sent as a message to the trees. It will come to an end like the other times, but this time, it will go away forever, his last song. For her.
