Two-River Fork
================================================================================
The river and waterfall motions intersect here, a graceful sight off in the short distance. The rumble of the falls is discernible, as is the glint of the waters. The grounds in between the slope and rivers here are damp and sponge-like; they are covered in full reeds, cattails and small puddle-like ponds. Frogs and toads are in abundance, as are some smaller marsh birds. It dries soon, though, and moves out to catch the sides of the water-forms on the outer edges of the soggy grounds.

It's a quiet autumn afternoon for a few minutes. A little bit of a cold breeze, lots of rustling leaves and stretched out in the sun Lexus has dozed off with a freshly caught marsh bird next to him. He's hunted, caught and eaten, it seemed like a nice spot to rest his eyes for just a little while.
Gitchiwaakwe is out of the den grounds, exploring without her brothers for once. She is sniffing along a deer trail when she picks up the scent of someone vaguely familiar. Ears pricked, tail raised a little,she creeps along into the clearing, noticing the dozing wolf. She recognises the scent now as someone related to Granma Cotton, and quietly walks over, trying to lay down beside him as quietly as possible. She whispers, "The Spirits told me you were a relative... I hope you don't mind me being here."
As quietly as possible is still enough to make Lex's ears perk and wake him up just as she gets close. He's spent too long alone and got out of the habit of sleeping deeply. A small sniff though and he recognises wolf before opening up one eye to look at the pup "The spirits are very wise like that. You must be one of Tariro's children"
Gitchiwaakwe nods as her muzzle breaks into a grin. "Tariro is my father.. I am Gitchiwaakwe, Gitchi for short." She pauses and winces, just now realising she might be interrupting a nap. "I'm not disturbing you, am I? I can go if you need to rest.." She blinks, tilting her head. "Hm.. The Spirits say you've been wandering an awful lot, and that maybe you should stay home a little before going off again. Apparently there's someone here who needs your help."
Lexus lifts his head and rolls onto his front to be more comfortable "Gitchi, yes, remember Rockfall mentioning you. You're not disturbing me at all..." he raises a brow as talk of spirits continues, his face going rather solemn. That's a lot for her to know, maybe someone told her something but the last part really bothers him "Who exactly?..."
Gitchiwaakwe sits on her haunches and closes her eyes tightly, concentrating. "They won't tell me, they just told me to pass the message to you.. But they say something is happening, the.." She trails off and shivers. "That this winter will be very difficult for the Pack, we'll need all the help we can get." Her voice deepens suddenly, her eyes open, but they are glazed over, widened, as if the pup is seeing something terrifying a long distance away. "If we don't follow the Great Spirit's guidance the pack will be weaker than ever.. Many will die, sibling will turn against sibling, parent against child." The next words come as a deep, adult-like snarl, "You have been warned, Viridian. Follow the Great Spirit's ways and you will prevail. If not, all of Cerulean are doomed to despair and anguish." Gitchiwaakwe comes out of the sort of trance and shakes her head as if to get water out of her ear. "What did you say, Uncle? Sorry, I think I dozed off..."
Lexus slowly sits up, alarmed and trying not to make any sudden moves as he listens. The first time he's actually been afraid of a pup, his fur sticking on end a little. He continues to look wary even when she snaps out of it "You should, erm, go and rest back with the pack...I think I need to talk to Shag" the only other one he knows that's weird like that.
Gitchiwaakwe blinks and is rather confused by the sudden change in her great-uncle's demeanour. "Did I do something bad, Uncle? M'sorry, I really am.. Wait, Uncle Shag? He hears Spirits too, he told me so himself.. But he said he can't hear them as clearly as I can.. Wait, did you hear them too? They scare me sometimes, those things they tell me..." She shivers and runs forward, nuzzling into the wolf's chest. "They won't hurt me will they?"
Lexus opens his mouth but has to rethink his words, sighing sadly when he's nuzzled. He leans down to nuzzle the top of her head "It's alright. They won't hurt you, they're spirits, they...guide us. It was a warning that's all and that's a good thing. I just want to talk it over with Shag that's all"
Gitchiwaakwe shivers again and nods slowly, then blinks after taking in Lexus' words. "You mean.. They spoke.. Through me?" She seems horrified, and sticks her tongue out as if her mouth has something rotten in it. "Well.. If you say so, Uncle. I guess its not up to me anyway, they just pop into my head like a gopher pops out of its hole.. Still, I wonder what they said.. It was like I was asleep."
Lexus stalls for a second before there's another sigh "They said the winter would be harsh among other things. I'm sure it'll be fine really and I'll talk to Shag and your father about it so we've no need to worry...Look, why don't you take some food back to the pack" he draws the dead marsh bird he had left for himself over "Share it with your brothers"
Gitchiwaakwe rears up and licks Lexus' cheek affectionately, then yawns. "Thank you Uncle! I think I'll go have a nap now, I'm really sleepy.. When the Spirits talk to me a lot, it makes me sleepy.. Anyway, I'll tell Rocky and Hywel who the bird is from. There's some really nice salmon in the river, though, if you get hungry.. Thanks for making me feel better.. Well, I guess I'll see you later." Another huge yawn, and she grabs the marsh bird, then quietly walks off to the den, intending on sleeping at least five hours.
