Scene
It's late in the afternoon and Cocle is restless, having spent a lot of time off exploring the area immediately surrounding his home and not a lot of time with his brother, father, or friend. not much else has presented itself to him to be played with. Hidden by shadows and tall grass, he creeps ever closer to the den, sniffing carefully as he does as he tries to track down someone from his family, which includes Johari, in his mind.
Sprawled out across the ground, is Akseli, awake yet completely unaware of the possible dangers, whether they be the good or the bad kind, around him. Flicking him tail idly behind him he plays with a blade of grass that's been blown his way by the wind. Swatting at it every times its in range, Aks grrs when missings.
While her friends are out and about doing things, Johari is sprawled out fast asleep only a few feet away from Akseli while he plays with his grass. She's come to love spending time with her two new friends and even starting to think of them as her own brothers in a sense. Seems that no matter how little real family the foxgirl has, she always finds others to fill the voids and it couldn't make her happier. But for now, it was resting time despite what the brothers were doing. So for now, Johari was in a peaceful sleep, occasionally an ear would twitch and a small smile would break across her muzzle, clearly enjoying whatever dream she was having.
Cocle is in luck, catches Johari's and Akseli's scents as he gets closer to the den. Not long after, he can here Akseli occasionally growling, though it don't cause Cocle much concern. He'll soon do his brother a big favor and take his mind off of whatever is that frustrating. See? Helpful. Staying low to the ground and slinking closer, until he thinks he's close enough, he waits a couple moments, then all of a sudden springs out of the grass towards the sound of the growling and, simultaneously, yells, "Gotcha!"
His brothers way of helping is more like making things worse then gradually making them look like a big help. Paynig no heed to the shadows around him, Akseli continues his endeavors to catch and shred the blade of grass. It’s only when he pins it to the ground with a paw that the unexpected happens and he's torn from the blade and pushed just enough to be considered pounced and gotten. Looking up with a slightly frightened look, Aks grrs at his brother once realizing its him. Reaching up to defend himself, he bats Cocle right in the face.
Well... she /was/ enjoying a nice sleep anyways. The sudden yelling and growling is a bit much for the foxgirl and soon stirs from her sleep, giving an annoyed grunt. She was enjoying that too! Slowly opening her eyes to see what awakened her, Johari's bitterness soon melts away and is replaced by happiness when she sees it's just the two brothers playing. Well now she /can't/ be angry since it's them! Giving a small yawn, the female looks up at the two and says sleepily, without bothering to get to her paws, "Do you guys have to be so loud?" A smile on her muzzle shows that she's just joking with them. She could never get mad at them, even if the /did/ wake her up.
His brother's fearful look is worth the bat to his face, which causes Cocle to draw back, though he is still grinning and trying hard not to laugh. Any further attack he may have planned is interrupted by the talking from the previously-sleeping foxgirl, though. "It's too early to be sleepin' anyways." His tone, though joking, clearly portrays what he thinks of Johari's and Akseli's lounging. Boring.
Akseli wasn't lounging; he was playing, though apparently his actions just weren't enough to Cocle to be called playing. Taking the moment to roll back over onto his side as Cocle draws back; his ears draw back to Johari's voice. "Blame Cocle... He started it." he speaks out in truth, flicking his tail.
If she hadn’t just woken up from a deep sleep, Cocle would surly find the foxgirl trying to tackle him for making so much noise. But lucky for him, Johari is still feeling too sleepy to do anything. Slowly getting to her paws and shaking the dirt off of her, she makes her way towards the brothers, smiling at them. Giving another small yawn before taking a seat next to Akseli, Johari says, "Don' worry about it. I guess it woulda' happened sooner or later." Lucky Cocle, he got off easy.
Cocle did start it, didn't he? He seems almost proud of this fact, as Akseli mentions he's to blame. After all, is he not the cure to all their boredom? He should be praised! However, since they're not appearing terribly willing to hand out that praise... Hmmm. "I just came to warn you!" This ruse may be blown by how carefree he was acting earlier. At any rate, he has to do /something/ to keep himself and his family occupied, and pretending may be a good way to do that.
Raising a brow to Cocle's forming ruse, Akseli blinks, that’s one heck of a way to warn them of something. "Warn us about what?" he questions turning to Johari for a moment and giving her a soft nosing when she seats beside him. Turning away from her, he looks out across the way; what could possibly be out there that they would need to worry about. Looking back to Cocle, Aks awaits whatever idea his brother has come up with this time.
Cocle has little time to search the repertoire of animals he knows to find an appropriate culprit for the threat he's warning them of. This distracts him from any sort of observing interaction between Akseli and Johari. "There's a huge, uh... noga... coming this way! Biggest I ever seen! We gots to go." Okay, so maybe the animal is made up... But Cocle does have a tendancy to wander off more than his brother. There's a chance Akseli and Johari might not know it's a made up animal, right?
A what.. noga... Akseli tilts his head to the side a bit at the name of this said animal, turning to Johari once more. "Noga?" he asks of her wondering if she knows what one of those is. She's been way out there, and said she lived with wolves, right... she's got to know if such thing is real. Back to his brother, Akse sits up, "Whats a noga.... doing here?"
A who now? Noga? Johari has never heard of such a silly named animal in her life and gives Akseli the same confused look right back at him. "A...noga?" she says, looking back towards Cocle with a hint of disbelief in her voice. A 'noga' can't actually be a real thing can't it? It's got too silly a name to be real, after all. But, Cocle wouldn't make things up...would he?
Cocle nods eagerly, a little more confident now. "A noga. I dunno what its doin' here. Never seen one so close before. C'mon, follow me!" No hiding in the den for this fox. After all... Nogas can definitely infiltrate dens, despite their massive size that wouldn't allow them into a normal fox den opening. Rather, he begins taking off towards the south west, his pace at a controlled clip despite his insistence that this thing that is after them is definitely not to be trifled with. He has to work to hide a grin, and he uses any spare time he has to think up details about his make-believe monsters.
Akseli doesn't go anywhere when his brother suggests they follow him. He was unsure of this thing was even real, or if this whole thing was just some prank Cocle was planning for some laugh. He had been through enough of them in his life, but it was hard to tell sometimes. Taking to a stand, he looks down the way his brother is heading out in. There was a thicket out there and some really dislikeable scents... he really did disapprove of such a direction. "How about you go and I'll just watch from here." he smirks. "I'll uh... make sure if doesn't come up from behind." Yea... he'll do that.
Well... it certainly seems like Cocle believes that this noga thin exists. That makes one of them... Johari doesn't move at first when Cocle goes bounding off and away from them, but give Akseli a confused look... but then smiles at him at his words. She gives her friend a small lick on the nose, getting to her paws and says, "C'mon, it can't be that bad. Even if he /is/ making it up it should be fun." And if that doesn't get him, the foxgirl shoots him a somewhat evil grin and asks, "You're not /scared/ are you?" HA! She wins!
No one ever appreciates Cocle's attempts to keeps things interesting. *foxpout* It only figures that Akseli would become wise to his brother's pranks eventually. The young fox turns around to face Johari and Akseli, though he doesn't adress his brother until after Johari finishes speaking. "B'sides, you can't just /stay/ here. It'll eat you up. C'mon, Akseli." There's a slight whining quality in Cocle's voice, and very little that would give away that he's really amused.
Akseli scared? Not at all, theres just that feeling that he's going to pay for his foolishness if he tags along. Standing there still he shakes his head. "I'm not scared, I just know my brother. He's always trying to get a good laugh." Beside, he'll get his sense of adventure when he goes with Johari back to her home. He'll see plenty of huge, terrifiing things there. Looking out to Cocle he sticks his tongue out then says, "Yes I can, cause it'll eat you up first since you’re out there and I'm not." So there. Bet he didn't think of that now did he.
Johari stays quiet during this time of brother fighting. She's at least learned by now to stay out of things like this and let the two solve it out by themselves. Sigh, why did they always have to do this? Looking at each male when he yells his comeback, the foxgirl simply shakes her head from side to side, smiling broadly. It's a fight between brother and brother... here we go again.
This isn't fighting. Far from it. Fighting is what they do after Akseli decides to even the odds between Cocle and whatever inanimate object Cocle is torturing. It a desperate last attempt to get his brother to go along, he says, "Fine. Stay here and get eaten. It's comin' from that way, not this way." Cocle is the expert on all things noga. He gets to say where the noga is, and who it will eat.
Truthfully, Cocle would never abandon his brother if there WAS a real threat, but maybe Akseli doesn't know this either. Bluffing, Cocle turns and begins to trot away again.
Akseli just shrugs. If something is going to eat him, then he feels sorry for that thing. He doesn't taste good, he's been told personally, and up holds that fact to the full exstent. "Fine I will." he laughs to himself watching as Cocle takes off again. Afterward he looks behind himself to see if there was anything there was pose such a threat as eatting him. With nothing there he sighs.
Oh now what to do? Go off and search for noga's with Cocle, or stay behind with Akseli? It sounds like fun, chasing after these weird noga things... but Akseli /does/ have a point. Cocle has always tried to get in a good laugh wherever he could... Looking at the retreating form of Cocle for a moment, then back at Akseli, Johari finally decides she's just not up for some adventure right now so she goes and takes a seat next to Akseli and leans against him slightly. Sorry Cocle, another time would be great, but just not now...
Obviously, both Johari and Akseli are no fun whatsoever. Hmph! Cocle keeps walking until he's certain he's out of sight and hearing range, at which point he flops in the grass to sulk. He'll get over it soon enough, as soon as another idea enters his mind, but for right now, he's perfectly content to lie here and consider how his brother and, in his mind, adopted sister are total spoil-sports. Nyeh.
With Cocle gone wondering, Akseli hopes that he brings something back with him thats interesting... or just anything at all. When leaned against but Johari, he looks over to him with a soft smile. "You could of gone with him you know. I don't mind." Ultimiatly he would of felt lonely or that she didn't want to be with him cause he was boring or something. Leaning back against her, as to suppose himself from her lean, he gazes back out towards there his brother was last seen. "I'm glad you stayed though."
"I just wasn't in the mood right now, I just woke up a few minutes ago after all," she says, smiling back at him and even more so when he leans back up against her. "Maybe next time when I'm more awake... but just not now." She's certainly curious as to if the noga things actually exist and will have to check it out with Cocle later, but for now, she just wants to relax and maybe spend some time with Akseli. When he says that he's glad she stayed, Johari smiles warmly at him and gives him a friendly lick on the cheek, then leans her head against his. "What can I say, I like spending time with you," she says with a small giggle behind her voice.
"With me." he half smiles while saying, "What makes you say something like that?" All he does is play and complain with his brother... unless its not that at all and something else entirely. Akseli raises a brow just then as Joha leans her head against his. He must be comfortable, that’s got to be it. "Not that I'm saying I'm not.. it’s just..." he perks an hear to her hidden giggle.
Well, he certainly does feel comfortable, that could be a reason.
But it's more of a feeling of just being happy around him. He always seems to have time to talk with her and just be there when she needs someone to talk to. Cocle was a really good friend, don't get her wrong, but Akseli almost felt like more than a friend, but Johari couldn't find words for it. "You've just been a really good friend to me since I first got here and when I needed to talk to someone. Thank you," she finishes, leaning her head against his again and giving him another lick on the cheek.
So he is after all one of comfort for her, someone to talk to when all else fails. This doesn’t bother Akseli at all, he would of said something if it had right. Besides, like he is to her, she is to him; just perhaps not in the same manner, least not yet. Friendship means a lot to him and he’ll cherish the one he has till it’s no longer what binds them. "I'm glad to be your friend and from what I’ve heard, friends are always there for each other." Where did he hear that from. "So, just so you know. I'll always be here for you... alright." He smiles to his giving the girl a slight nuzzle to her own cheek.
Awwww, that's so sweet of him to say. Johari happily returns the nuzzle with one of her own... then gives the male a long lick the length of his cheek. But, this time, the lick was a little more than friendly. The foxgirl wouldn't be able to explain it if anyone asked her... but it was like a friendly kiss times ten. It was more than just a simple friendly lick, but exactly /what/ it was, she wouldn't be able to say. Smiling warmly at him, Johari says, "Thank you Akseli. I'll always be here for you to if you need me, ok?" Ohhh could she possibly be developing a small crush on him... perhaps.
Sweet? It's the truth no matter what you call it and he plans to keep it. Now that she knows that, things will be... did she just... blinking his eyes a few times due to the long lick across his face, Akseli looks at the female with, well, a smile of course. He doesn't know how to take that, least of all a lick like that. Out of his whole life, that would be his first said kiss and well.. he looks open mouthed and blank. That look fades just as quickly as Johari speaks up. "Sounds good." Is what he has to say to that. "Uh. What was that for?" he questions about the lick to the face, obviously not getting it.
Well if you put it that way, then that was Johari's first real kiss as well. She had only ment it to be a long and friendly lick... but it came out more than that, surprising even herself. But was she complaining, no. Giggling again at the male's obvious confusion, she says, "I guess that's my way of really thanking you." She's never had an actual friend her age, but she couldn't have asked for two better ones than Cocle and Akseli. "I hope that's ok," she adds quickly, not wanting to do anything to her friend that could make him feel uncomfortable or something.
"I guess so." He chuckles. That’s some way of saying thanks; she could of just gave him a hug or something, but a lick/kiss... that’s really got to mean something. Looking at her, Akseli shakes his head. "No, it's fine. Just no one’s ever done that to me before." Sure his mother might of once when he was born but that was like months ago. If that’s the way she is going to thank him from now on, he's going to have to get use to that. After a moment he just says, "And your welcome." before sitting there in silence.
And sometimes it might not be a lick like that. It could just be a simply hug and leaning against, but now just felt like a good time to give him a lick like that. Why? Who knows, it just... did. Smiling again, Johari shuffles around so that she and him are closer together and leans her head against his once more. This time, she says silent and just enjoys knowing the fact that there's someone there who can be there for her. It's a new feeling, but the foxgirl wouldn't have it any other way.
