Having not been here before, Thrash felt a bit adventurous, and decided that he would go out and explore. As his paws fall upon the black stone, with claws clicking loudly away at the smoothed surface, he peers down curiously now and then, having never seen such formations before. Circling around the one larger hole in the ground, he sniffs about, trying to see if there is any scents near by, then settles himself back upon his haunches with a loud yawn. Ok, exploring is boring.
Boring? Nyssa has had a pleasant morning herself, moving through Kein's territory on silent paws; weaving among trees, rocks, and everything in between. There is /life/ in Amaranth, and it stirs her greatly. The black stone have begun to draw her closer to them, and her ears curl forward, whiskers fanned wide, at the steady click, click, click. The cougar doesn't slow or alter her pace, instead moving down a small incline with ease, eyes falling upon a young male... certainly not Kein, and he doesn't hold any of the markings of the cougars here. He certainly can't be of her clan, either... Nyssa doesn't say anything to him though, merely observing with softened eyes.
After a few more sniffs, his ears perk upwards, and a shiver races down his spine, causing him to jerk his head upwards. Shaking out his pelt, he turns his attention over towards the scent on the breeze that catches his attention, settling his gaze upon Nyssa approaching. Tail whipping back, and forth behind him slowly, he cants his head to one side, then gives her a wry grin upon his boxy maw. "Why, hello there.." He says in a smooth tone, shifting his stance some so that he can settle upon his haunches. "How 'you' doin'?"
At first, Nyssa's ears flatten for a brief moment before returning forward, though it occurs moments before Thrash's voice echos between them. Her eyes seems to roam about, gentle but edgy, as though she were studying something around him. Is it a trait with all Amaranth males that they are so unsettled, so unaware of themselves, or even their Guides? Her own wraps a gentle breeze around her, pushing up underneath her chin and reminding her that she is a guest in these lands and that it is not polite to study a strange so. The female blinks slowly, remembering this, and then look at the male before her as if for the first time, just now. A smile brushes her muzzle, and as he sits she moves down from the rocks to settle on level ground with him. "Hello."
Tail swaying back and forth behind him, Thrash has that rugged grin he's polished so well, spread across his muzzle. "So, you smell familiar, sorta, you've been hanging out here now and then, haven't you? I am Thrash." He says with a proud look about himself, chest out, shoulders back, looking very much like a beefed up soldier. As her eyes roam along him, he looks amused, then says point blankly, "See something you like, beautiful?" Such drawl in his voice manner, warm, charming. He takes a moment to study her as well, coming up with a single, and easy realization - she's not that bad on the eyes.
She gives him only a nod, subtle but it is there, and her maw opens in slight surprise and then closes in embaressment; he wouldn't understand right away, would he? Nyssa looks away briefly but gets nothing from her Guide, and instead returns her eyes to Thrash and manages a smile. "I'm Nyssa," she responds at last, settling back on her haunches as she watches him. After a moment, her brows knit together just a little bit, and her attention moves from his face to just above him, then to the sides of his cheeks, then around his shoulders; not /at/ him but around him, through him, /looking/ for... /something/. Yet another cougar without his Guide? She blinks, wondering...
"Nyssa, huh? That's a nice name." As she goes about looking around him, Thrash quickly jerks his head over his shoulder, as if to expect someone approaching from behind. "Uh, so what -are- you looking for?" He asks curiously, swiveling his head back towards her, ears raising upwards. He sniffs the air once, then takes a few steps closer towards her, his pace lumbering with a hint of swagger behind it. "Also, you plan on sticking around here longer?" He gives her a quick, lop sided grin. "I wouldn't mind of course, I hate being the new guy around here."
"What am I..." she echos softly, still searching around him, though after a moment she snaps to, as if waking from a dream, "Oh, I--" Nyssa pauses, pursing her lips, looking a little lost and a little sheepish in the process. "Well, yes, I've spoken with Kein on a number of occassions. I... might stay here for a time," she offers, truly unaware of how long she will stay, or if she has completed the purpose she thought she had here. "But, I-- well, I--" she stops and starts again, smiling softly, "I was looking for your Guide." Nyssa pauses for a few moments, and then, "Is it common for all Amaranth males to never have communicated with their Guide?"
Ears tilting back a bit at the mention of guides, Thrash says, "I was not born of the Amaranth, and my guide is a bit shy, if you know what I mean." He says with a grin, tail swaying about his ankles once more in an easy manner. "I think he's just uncomfortable around pretty girls." Tilting his chin upwards, he tosses her a playful wink of gold in her direction. "So, are you saying that Kein doesn't have a guide? I always thought it'd be something ferocious like."
"Oh, no," Nyssa responds earnestly, bright eyes widening, "Every creature is born with their Guide; it is whether or not we have learned to listen to them, for they are always speaking to us." She looks up briefly, as if to illustrate her point, though it is unlikely that, to Thrash, anything has changed. But Nyssa's attention falls back to the male, though shying away just slightly with comments that... she really isn't used to. Long tail sways behind her and she shakes her head, "Of course not, and I wouldn't speak ill of Kein, either. Or his tribe."
"I didn't say you were speaking ill of him, I just can't see other guides besides my own. I have no clue if he has one or not, I don't talk to him about it." Thrash says with a grin upon his face as he takes a few paces closer to her, breathing in her scent so that he can memorize it properly. "So, what kinda guide do you have?" He asks her, showing a bit of interest in this particular topic for a change, mostly because she's not acting crazy, like some others he has met before.
Normal creatures might back away, shy away, or go on the defensive, and while Nyssa isn't going crazy, she's not necessarily "normal" either. She watches Thrash, noting the up and down of his whiskers, the thought far behind his eyes as she stares at him, and then a warm laugh slips from her maw. Instead of answering him, she closes her eyes and purrs gently, wrapping her tail around her paws and whispers, "Say hello." It is barely audible, but there, and after a moment of stillness, the small tufts of grass being to rustle, and small swirls of sand puff up and gust away over the edge of the well. If that had been it, it could have been passed off as luck, but the warm spring air rushes past the two of them and swirls around Thrash, tugging at his ears and tail, and twirling his whiskers before whisking off to places unknown. Nyssa laughs again, a soft sound, as her eyes slowly open again.
