Tariro's question goes unanswered by the young she-wolf; he shrugs it off for the time being flicking an ear and turning to Haze whose own question would have been one he'd have asked next. He has heard of his brother and Alaqua's new litter; a small yet subtle frown visible on his face. He was glad to hear and see of new life but a part of him wished it were him supplying to the effort. "I see." He smiles. "Seems I have some new faces to meet as well."

Helios hums softly at the talk goes on including how many call the place home. A slight nod is offered, his ears perking forward and he snuffles out. "Its good that everyone is sticking together at least." He hums softly at the talk of new pups around. "I thought I saw Alaqua the other day looking well.. A bit round. Good to know everything is going well with her."

While Niyt's failure to answer could have been accidental - simply not noticing her uncle's question was directed at her - there's a certain hesitation to her sometimes, a certain way she looks when she doesn't think she's being watched, when the conversation is going elsewhere, that suggests perhaps she's just as glad to not have answered it. She doesn't seem unhappy; in fact, the persistent rise of her tail and erectness of her ears would indicate rather the opposite. But it does seem like perhaps there's something she'd rather not discuss just yet. Her ears flick back towards the rolling desert behind her from time to time, as though listening for something there.
She nods, her attention drawn back to the here and now. "It must be nice. Having puppies, that is." The adolescent smiles.

Like his nephew, the former Lazuli alpha also yearns for the time when he and his mate had pups of their own -- before the years passed, and they were left with only the runaway son, Nakaiah. Haze's attention is drawn away from his reverie by the sound of the others continuing the conversation, and he turns to the young female at her comment with a wistful smile on his maw. "It is. Perhaps you'll be so lucky to have some of your own, someday," he wishes well of the she-wolf, a happy rumble to his voice. A fleeting thought occurs to him, and he turns to Helios, curiously inquiring of the Lazuli-born male: "So, will you be staying with the pack long, then?"

His niece was still young to be thinking of such, having puppies, but was it necessarily wrong? That was a question in its own likely to be left unanswered. "All good things come in time, Niyt. You will see." A smile on his face, Tariro looks to each before him stopping along Helios as his curiosity builds wanting to know if he'd stay long as well though hesitant to have another male amongst the pack.

Of course Tariro and Haze think she's young for having puppies. Adults always think that sort of thing; Niyt has learned that, and really, she can't blame them for it too much. After all, they're old, and they've long since forgotten what it's like to be young. So her response is an affectionate smile for their foolishness, and a nod of acknowledgement - if perhaps not agreement.

Helios looks to Niyt and smiles at the talk of pups, a slight nod offered. "Your find out all in good time I'm sure." A soft ah escapes him and he glances back to Haze about him staying in the area. "I thought about it for a while.. Suppose it all depends on where my paws take me in the end." His tail slowly sways a few times. As for Tariro being hesitant the Lazuli wolf doesn't know this of course.

"Fair enough," Haze simply nods in response to Helios' reply. "I suppose that's true of all of us, really," he adds with a chuckle. "But perhaps you'll stay a while -- there are still traces of Lazuli here, after all," the Viridian-born male continues, slowly rising from his haunches as he does so. "Regardless, you are welcome here." With a little shake of his brindled pelt to rid himself of the dust collected in his fur, the elder dips his head to those gathered before taking his leave. "I promised Larkspur I'd be home before too late, so I should probably be on my way once more." Pausing briefly at a thought, Haze turns to nod in Helios' direction. "I'll be sure to let her know her younger brother's visiting. It was good to see you all again...until next time," the older wolf says in farewell before turning away, beginning the trek back towards the southwestern edge of the packlands where the plains meet the mountain.

The elder's departure is a notion of things left undone by the white wolf; a responsibility placed upon him when the union of packs began. Tariro holds high regard to his duties and in such must follow suit of the departed. Standing, the alpha nods to each of those who remain. "I must be off as well I'm afraid. A patrol must be done before the day's end." Turning to leave, he continues. "If you'll excuse me." A gentle smile is given as he steps out into the plains.
