"I understand, grandmother." Arroyo says in a quiet voice to Ruya, her tone heavy with thoughts and considerations. She can feel that subtle tug, that emptiness, that something was missing no matter the love of mother and father, grandmother and brother. Not even her lofty title appeased it. The pale female turns her gaze upward, towards the distant peaks still tipped with the last snows of winter and thin-aired heights and then downhill, towards the sweeps of flat grasslands beyond the mountains she's never left.
"I suppose, then, I should go." Comes her final murmur after over a minute of silence, and Arroyo turns her head to tuck it against the shoulder of her father. "Tell Aiden I'll see him soon and mom that I love her. I'll be careful, I promise."

Arroyo's mother comes quietly with the wind in her ears, pushing her gently forward while it whispers its own conversation. Her steps are easy and unhurried despite the idea that she may not see her daughter, her first and only daughter, for some time. But she is not anxious; in fact, she is strangely serene. Eventually the wind is overtaken by other murmurs, murmurs that swell into conversation. Her nose tells her who she will see long before the trees clear to give her that view, just in time to see her daughter and the Chieftain in a short embrace.
A smile touches her light muzzle but Nyssa remains quiet and does not give away her presence. The idea of her daughter's journey only just beginning brings about something deep in her heart that she cannot place immediately, but the mixture is one of apprehension and elation. There are so many things one could tell Arroyo and so many other things that no one could possibly explain.
Her Guide nips playfully at one ear but she ignores it, content for the moment to watch the world in front of her move forward.

Ruya nods simply yet affirmatively in response to Arroyo's stated decision, an encouraging smile lingering on her maw. "Good luck," is her final word on the subject, the shamaness falling silent once more as the pair embrace in a familial farewell. The sudden rush of a breeze through Ruya's fur carries the scent of her eldest daughter along with it, announcing Nyssa's presence to her. Despite this recent arrival, the shamaness still moves to take her leave, wanting to allow the family some final time together before the chosen sets out on her quest. After all, she will have plenty of time in the coming months to spend with her daughter; Nyssa will not hold the same privilege until Arroyo returns once again.
