- Old Chestnut Tree -
Around the old tree it has been somewhat quiet, certain ones have gone missing and the cubs that are missing there fathers know something is wrong. Kachina made her way out of the tree den and is settled upon a gnarled root of the large tree. Her forepaws curled to her chest as her blue gaze drifts over the area now and then, ears perking forward and then lower as if she was waiting for someone to appear but they just haven't come yet.
Far overhead, a bird of prey flies close enough to the ground that his keen eyesight allows him to pick out a great many details, almost down to individual blades of grass. Unsurprisingly, the raptor prefers being in the air to almost any alternative. He has spent a couple weeks doing little more than this. Hunting when he must, resting when he must, but otherwise just flying and looking, charting the area and its inhabitants. Now, it is time for him to finally contribute to his group's cause, and it he may have his opportunity. Wary of giving away his presence, Angard circles the tree several times, plotting the best trajectory to try to snag the cub before she can dart back into the hollow.
Kachina has no idea there is some large bird flying around with an eye on her, she doesn't know there are large birds actually. The only birds she's seen are the little ones that stay within the trees, and a certain sparrow that refuses to leave her alone. The only thing is the sparrow is rather dead and gone bu the cub has no idea about this as it looks rather alive to her. A half yawn escapes the cub and she gathers herself up and soon hops down from the root to the forest floor. Her ears perking as she moves a forepaw to bat out at a leaf which gets her attentions for a few moments as she starts to play with it.
Ah yes. Even better, and Angard finds himself grateful that they have chosen to target the children of predators, since they are not so wary as prey species. Not like they should be, with animals like Angard about. So, when Kachina further distances herself from the tree, Angard wastes no more time before swooping down, giving one sharp cry as he does. His keen eyesight and the powerful wings allow him great accuracy as he aims to grasp the little cougar and lift her clean off the ground.
The sharp cry is what catches Kachina's attention and her ears flick forward while she looks around her trying to find what could have possible made that noise. Her tail lashes and it doesn't even dawn on her to look upwards, afterall what could come from the sky and make that type of noise? A sharp cry suddenly escapes the cub as something grabs her, she expect it to be her sibling trying to scare her but when she is hauled into the air she is rather sure it is NOT her brother. She wiggles about, all four paws lashing out with claws swiping about to try and find what has hold of her. "MAMA!!" Is about the only words that the girl can get out in a sudden squeal of fear.
The cub is not, by far, the largest thing Angard has even carried, and by the time the girl cries out for her mother, the bird is already in the air once more. Not high, no, with the extra weight, but high enough that he should not have to worry about any of the girl's relatives or any other land predator as he flies as quickly as he is capable towards where he and his accomplices have been meeting.

Kachina struggles for a few moments longer before getting the idea that perhaps she better not struggle that much as the bird takes her further up into the air. She swallows sharply, eyes widen before they close tightly and she whimpers out. The cub has no idea what is going on, or why her mother didn't come to try and save her when she cried out.
If the raptor has any compassion, it doesn't show. Then again, even if he had a face capable of expressing such things as compassion, it would be difficult to see, from the cub's current position. The trip is a lengthy one, and by the end of it, Angard is flying closer to the ground as he struggles with the added weight of the cub over the course of the long journey. Eventually, though, they have reach their destination, and Angard hovers just a couple feet above the ground for a second to drop the cub before landing a short distance away. On the ground, he stretches his aching wings for a moment as he stares, wordlessly, at the cub.
Kachina has no idea what is going on, or if the large bird is going to drop her to the ground, which even for a cub she doesn't think that is such a good idea. Her form quivers within the grasping talons of the bird, her eyes cracking open slightly to see where abouts they are only to see nothing but trees and then mountain it seems. A sharp yelp escapes the cub once the bird lets go and she is dropped upon the ground. She blinks and glances around, her form shivering with fear as she has no idea what may happen now. Her blue gaze peers back at the bird, ears lowering while he form presses close to the ground, fear clearly seen across her face.
After giving his wings a little bit of a stretch and rest, the eagle folds them against his body again. Without moving from his position, at least quite yes, the bird finally speaks. "You be a good little cub now and don't run, you hear? If you run, I'll just have to get you again, and I won't be so gentle about it, next time." As though the trip here could really have been described as gentle. Still, Angard is quite confident that here, with no where to hide in the immediate area, he can fly faster than the cub can run, and he doesn't want to wait for one of his companions to arrive so they can watch the cub and make sure she stays put while he moves the logs just enough to get the cub inside.
Kachina swallows slightly as she watches the large bird, her form slowly shifting backwards a few steps, though her movements stop once the bird speaks. She is quiet until he is done talking, her gaze flicking around the area to try and find some place to hide from the bird. "Why yu take me?" Is suddenly questioned while she peers back at the eagle, her heart is racing and she is still very fearful, scared at what else might happen.
Of course, she was so easy to capture, it was just obviously going to be too much to hope that she'd be easy to keep captured. Angard can tell easily enough what all of the glancing around is, and his wings are just tired enough, yet, that he's not eager to go flying after her again so soon. Besides, it is only a matter of time before one of his accomplices arrives, and then the problem will be solved, and they're easily far enough away from the girl's home that he does not have to worry about acting quickly. "What do you want to worry about a silly little thing like that for, especially since you probably wouldn't understand? Let's just say that it's for your own good, okay?" Nevermind that the largely emotionless bird doesn't seem to be much concerned about the girl's overall wellbeing.
Kachina whimpers out while eyeing the bird and starts to move backwards a few more steps. Her tail flicking a few times. "I want to go home.." She stammers suddenly, ears pinning back and blue eyes wide upon the bird. The birds words are understood. "Its not for my own good.." The bird took her after all and she doesn't feel its for her own good.
"Oh come now, girl. What makes you think you're qualified to tell if something is for your own good? After all, I just told you I'd have to hurt you if you tried to run, but look at what you're about to do. Clearly, you're not acting with your best interests in mind, now are you?" After speaking, the eagle spreads his wings once more, preparing to dart after the cub if she continues along her ill-conceived escape attempt.
Kachina eyes the bird as his wings open and she shifts to flatten out along the ground and whimpers out once more. She isn't too sure what to say now and swallows while glancing around once more. "What yu going to do with me?"
"If you behave? Nothing." Angard's attempt at comforting the cub, if that is what this is, comes out almost as emotionless as everything else he has said, but at least he is not actively going out of his way to scare her further. Not when it will do nothing to benefit him.
Kachina takes in a faint breath while watching the bird, looking utterly confused and scared at the same time if that is possible. "I don't like it here.." She offers with a shake of her head, along with the rest of her body shaking.
"Like I said, you shouldn't worry about such silly little things, cub. It's as nice here as where I got you from. Come over here and look, while I move these branches, yeah?" Angard does not wait for a response before folding his wings down again.
"No.." Kachina answers to the question of her coming over to look at something. Seems the cub wants nothing to do with what ever the bird might be doing. She wants to stay away from him as much as possible, even if that makes the bird mad.
"Very well, but you'd do well to remember that I've warned you." That said, the eagle leaps up to grab one of the brances and drag it from the opening. As he works, he keeps an eye on the cub, just in case his warning doesn't take, but with the short break he had from the flight here, if she should decide to run, at least it will not make him as angry as it would have when he was still recovering.
Kachina does indeed remembers what the dear evil bird said but her mind has other things rolling around it would seem. As soon as the bird is moving to pull the branch away she turns and takes off running.. Her shorts legs won't give her the ability to go that fast but she is certainly going to try it seems.
Hopping down from the lower branches of a nearby tree, Pauwau lands on quiet paws after she notices the return of her avian comrade. Silver eyes glance from the bird to his caught 'prey', and then back again. "I can't say I approve of the choice, but congratulations nonetheless," she purrs in way of greeting, before turning as she notices the other feline attempting to escape. The lanky bobcat easily lopes after the cougar cub, angling to cut off its current route. "Easy there, kitten," she purrs in a vaguely soothing manner.
The bird hovers where he is for just a second, for a roll of his eyes, before dropping the large branch. Before he can race after her, though, Pauwau makes her presence known, and Angard simply turns to perch on the branch and watch. Though he catches, well enough, the reference from one feline about the capture of another, he does not speak up, since anything he could say would do nothing at all to calm the cub that they need subdued.
Kachina didn't hear the new voice, and didn't see the other feline until the bobcat is before her. She skids to a stop and eyes the other with wide eyes as she starts to back up a few steps, panting quickly. "I want to go home!" Is sputtered out quickly, a quick jerk of her head is offered to the sky incase the bird is coming to grab her again. Needless to say this cub will remember to always check above her from now on after this little 'lesson' so to speak.
Pauwau attempts to herd the smaller cat back towards the burrowed den, walking directly towards Kachina at a slow and steady pace. "Right now, cub, this is your home," she states simply with a flick of her tail, "but at least you'll have a puppy for a playmate."
As Pauwau takes to herding the cougar cub, Angard goes back to his task, clearing the den's entrance, and, once that is done, watching for the aforementioned pup, lest he decide to make an escape attempt as well.
Kachina frowns while she starts to slowly make her way backwards, a faint whimper escaping her in the process. "No its not.." She stammers out, keeping her gaze on the other feline without thinking of looking behind her in the process. The cub has no idea what a 'puppy' is so doesn't even react to this news of a playmate.
Pauwau simply continues to pad after the backpedaling cub, smiling down at her as she does so. "Yes, it is," the bobcat responds just before the burrow's entrance falls into line behind the cub, something she's sure to tumble into if she continues her current course.
As the two draw nearer, Angard moves so as to not be blocking the entrance, instead finding his perch again, that he may begin moving the logs back as soon as the cub is in place. He does not try to put himself back in the conversation, leaving it instead to the two felines.
Kachina glares up at the bobcat, ears staying pinned back while her whiskers twitch madly. "Is not.." She stats with a mad tone at the thought of this being her home, she wants nothing to do with this place, it feels very wrong. As the bobcat continues to follow her, China is pushed closer and closer to the den that she isn't paying attention to. Another few steps and finally she looks back only to mis step in the process at the entrance of the den and go tumbling down into its dept with a half yowl escaping her.
As soon as the little cougar's claws have lost their grip on the ground and she's disappeared into the deep den, Pauwau turns to share a brief glance with Angard before circling around behind one of the logs herself. She lowers her shoulder against the log, pushing it back in place over the burrow's entrance with a bit of effort to help out her avian companion.
With the two of them working together, the task is soon completed, and Angard is quick to find himself a place in the tree Pauwau previously abandoned before giving the feline a nod of his head that is a combined acknowledgement of the congratulations from earlier and a thank you for the aid in blocking the den again.
