Characters: Hadir, Tala, and Ahiga (Ute Packmembers)
Setting: Waterfall Pool
Scene:
Ahiga has been on Hadir watch ever since he came across the young wolf passed out with Brutal. He hasn't laid eyes on Brutal since, and thus still hasn't the slightest clue as to what happened to cause the wolf to fall into such a state, as a constantly sleeping Hadir isn't too forthcoming with details. Really, it couldn've been anything. A sudden loud noise. Shocking news. A brisk wind. The poor kid is fragile! But Ahiga still suspects foul play from Brutal, and the wolf's lack of appearance since isn't helping his case in the slightest. Currently, the young male has left Hadir's side in order to hunt. A guy's gotta eat, and possibly if the younger male ever opens his eyes again, he may be hungry. His time away has been successful. Not only did he catch something, he caught /two/ somethings! His jaws are full with rabbits, a fluffy gray and mottled brown. Ears are set backwads in relaxation as he trots back towards the waterfall pool, eyes slightly squinting as he eyes the brilliant surface, glittering with the light of a late day sun.
Hadir has been more or less out of it since the 'brutal incident' that in reality wasn't terribly brutal but was indeed rather scary. Nothing like that has ever happened to Hadir before and if he has anything to say about it nothing like that will ever happen to him again. He has been conscious momentarily here and there, but not for very long. Presently though he is begining to stir a bit. After all you can't stay unconscious forever, unless you are dead, then you most certainly can...but good old Hadir isn't dead just yet. Though certainly if that situation had been much different he could have died.
Tala is there, settled at the mouth of the cave, head settled upon her forepaws and seems to be very much asleep at the moment. A ear slowly twitches, a faint snuffle soon escapes her an then she yawns while lifting her head. Forepaws stretch before her, claws gripping at the rocky ground a moment as her steel-blue gaze drifts over the area while she works on waking up slowly it seems.
Ahiga is making a straight shot towards Hadir, who he seems to have taken on as his personal responsibility to make sure is still...you know... not dead. Cuz the last thing the pack needs is /more/ heartache and grief! Maybe all he needs is a good whiff of rabbit meat to wake him up. It's one of Ahiga's personal favorites, all tender and yummy. What half grown wolf could say no to such a meal, awake or not? His ears perk up the closer he gets to the younger one, spying....possible movement? Golden eyes widen with hope and his tail slowly begins to wave, and when he's close he deposits both rabbits right near his nose. Smeeeelll the bunny. Yuuuuummy yummy. "Ey... 'ey Hadir," he says lowly, peering at him impishly. "You've gotta get up. If you don't, /trust me/, it's gonna start gettin' even more ridiculous around here." He moves around him and noses at his fur. Nudge. Nudge. "An' I don't think I'm gonna be able to handle that." He doesn't notice Tala's wakefulness just yet, so intent on making sure Hadir indeed opens his eyes.
Hadir is slowly becoming more and more aware of the world around him. He smells the rabbit and also smells the arrival of Ahiga. Ahiga is of course a friend, as are the rest of them, after the incident he isn't sure about Brutal. He slowly opens his eyes and blinks, "Hi." he says softly. Man he had the strangest dreams while he was out, but those are for another time, "Whats going on?" he says as he looks about, trying to see who is awake and there. Most importantly making sure that Brutal isn't there. That wolf is like scary and stuff.
Tala ears flick forward at the voices that catch her attention and she sniffs out once before before shifting up onto her paws, tail lashes as she steps forward now. "Handle what?" Is soon questioned while a glance is sent towards Ahiga and then Hadir wth a raised brow as she seems to have missed something in her still waking state.
Ah, the fallen awakes! Ahiga exhales a soft breath as consciousness begins to take hold of Hadir, and he smirks somewhat at his question. "Same question I've got for you," he replies with a vaguely lifted brow. The younger male is greeted with a nuzzle to the ears before he falls back onto his haunches to sit, his own ears lifting. "But now that you're ... mostly up, eat somethin'. Doubt you're gonna finish both those rabbits ... but you can try," he remarks with a small grin before his eyes lift in response to a new voice. His grin grows at the sight of Tala, and her question is answered with a matter of fact sounding, "Handle the craziness that would've come if Hadir was dead. But he's not, so we're good." He gestures with his muzzle to the wakeful male in question, in a sort of 'see for yourself' way.
Hadir sees Tala as well when he lifts his head to look around. He still feels sorta strange, just as you would if you hadn't really been awake and conscious in the last day or two, but at least he is awake, "Ok." he says to Ahiga as he lowers his head to begin to slowly eat one of the rabbits. Ahiga is right, there is no way that he will abe able to eat two rabbits, but eating one rabbit will probably do him good. Inbetween bites he speaks, "Hi Tala."
Tala ears perk while her gaze settles against Hadir, a soft smile seen and she nods while she moves on over to where Ahiga is and settles next to him. "So I see.. How are you feeling Hadir?" She questions curiously while lowering her head to sniff out at the pup a moment. "Just go ahead an eat, alright?"
Ahiga leans over a little and nudges Tala in greeting, gently smiling her way. "Hey," he offers before returning his eyes to Hadir. "You up for talkin'?" he asks him, head tilting. "Been worryin' about you for a while. You've been out..." he glances up to the sky, as if to gauge the time. "..A sunrise or two. Had me worried, an' when /I'm/ worried, you know somethin's up," he says, crookedly grinning.
Hadir finishes off the first rabbit and lifts his head to look between them. There are so many questions and he has more than a few questions about things himself, "A few days?" he asks. He is a bit fuzzy on how things went down, but he knows that Brutal was definitely involved, "I was here...I was minding my own business and one of those wolf brothers came by. He was a dragging a deer...and it was still alive. He didn't even kill it before he brought it back. I told him that he should have not done that. I told him that I thought he'd probably killed lots of innocent folks and then he got upset and jumped on me." At least thats the short version of the story. And its certainly leaving out chunks of it.
Tala noses back at Ahiga, her tail swaying to bump against him a few times in the process while she takes in a slight breath. Her ears perk as she watches Hadir listening to what is said. Her ears lower, eyes soon narrow and needless to say she looks a little mad.. "He...jumped on you?" This is questioned with a soft tone. Oh yes.. There will be things said when she sees Brutal or Grim again it would seem.
Ahiga listens to Hadir without interruption, as he's been rather curious about the details ever since answered Hadir's call that evening. He nods a little every now and then, but the expression on his face doesn't exactly read clarity. He glances to Tala as she asks the important question. Yes, despite everything, if Brutal attacked Hadir, that's the /most/ important thing. Though...Ahiga can't say that he saw any injuries on the youngster then or even now. "Bringin' the fawn back here alive...I agree with ya on that one, Hadir. I don' like things sufferin' either. A hunt is a hunt an' we don't drag it out. I don't know what he was doin' with that fawn but..." he pauses, choosing his words before speaking them, "I don' know if jus' doin' that means he's the type to go around killin' innocent things just because. If someone said that to me, I'd probably get a little upset too," he admits, though he admits it with a light smirk. "Though that doesn't mean it was ok for him to jump on you."
Hadir shakes his head. It wasn't really just the deer that made him think that way. He saw how the pair of them fought. While he may be a bit sheltered he isn't stupid, "But you saw how he fought those dogs. He was like well...brutal. It wasn't just the way he fought. There's something wrong with him. You know..." Thats the best that he can do. Its just something that he felt rather than something that actually happened.
Tala ear twitches as she hears Ahiga and it gives her a few moments to calm herself down and thing. "I agree with you about the fawn Hadir.. But saying that to Brutal was not a good idea." This said with a soft tone and slight shake of her head. "Yes, I did see how he and Grim fought the dogs, which is more of a reason for you not get into a confrontation with him." A slight shake of her head is soon seen. "Ahiga and I will talk to your father and Brutal. He and his brother must understand hat if they are here with the pack then they must follow the rules of the pack."
And the rules of the pack say, no jumping on Hadir! Ahiga gives Tala a look. Look at her /not/ getting all growly and upset! He grins a little to himself before nodding in agreement to them both. "You're right, Hadir. There's somethin'...different about Brutal. Grim too. They're not like any wolf I've ever met. I dunno if it's because they don' have a pack or what, but whatever it is, it makes me nervous. Makes me nervous to think that they're around you when none've us are around to keep an eye one'm too.." he says, his grin disappearing. "Althaea, too," he adds with a turn of his ear. "Tala's right. If you're caught by yourself with either one've them again an' you start feelin' uncomfortable? Go to the cave," he advises before he stands up and begins snuffling around his fur, searching. "He hurt you anywhere?"
Hadir didn't really get 'hurt' in the sense that Brutal did anything to him. Other than just the surprise and a bit of the pain of getting knocked over, but that was pretty much it. Hadir's heart took over from that point, "No I don't think so. He just jumped on me and started yelling at me...then my chest hurt and I passed out..." It really was as simple as that. Nothing fancy, "Thats when I howled and I don't remember anything after that." As for wanting to spend time with Brutal. Thats a definite no, "I'll just go to the cave if I see him." At least there he knows Chewy will have something to say if they try to get in.
Tala peers back at Ahiga with a smirk at the look she is given. "What?" is soon questioned and she looks to Hadir a moment. "Just need to be careful around them.. Understand?" A ear flicks forward and a faint snuffle escapes her. "Hopfully we can talk to him and your father before too much time passes and try to figure something out." Look she is being GOOD.. for the moment..
Snuffle snuffle search nose! Hmm.. Ahiga doesn't see or scent any injuries. That's comforting. His investigation of Hadir is ended with a playful nip to his ear before he steps back, satisfied. Eh, they'll definitely need to have some words with Brutal. Surprising Hadir is never a good thing, and one would think for as long as he and his dear brother have stuck around, they'd know that. And nobody yells at a Ute wolf! Unless it's another Ute wolf...which Brutal clearly is not. "There's not much to remember, to be honest with ya kid," he replies to Hadir. "When I got here, he left. S'how I figured he had something to do with it. Haven't seen him since. /Or/ Grim.." he says in a hopeful tone. "Maybe that means they're both gone. S'about time." To Tala's 'what?' he answers with a secretive grin and shrug. "Nothin'."
Hadir looks back and forth between Tala and Ahiga. Yep. There is definitely something wierd going on there too. Strageness is not limited to just Brutal and Grim after all. He is pleased he didn't miss anything that happened after. Of course he was occupied with other things at that moment, "I'm still feeling a bit tired. I think I'm going to go back to sleep." he says with a yawn. Yep. When you sleep that much you surely need...more sleep. That solves everything. But at least he isn't dead, "Thanks for the rabbit Ahiga." he says as he rests his head back down and soon enough zonks out.
