Characters involved:
Inali, red fox (completely black in color)
Takata, red fox
Synopsis: Inali had been sick for the past few days. She had chosen to stay defiantly in her den, despite all of the warning signs. Literally just before the entire area just floods over (minutes before the river areas were rendered inaccessible), Takata manages to pull Inali out and drag her to land -- where she promptly throws up. This RP takes place a few days ago.
==== Small Den ====
Inali had noticed lately that the river had been acting a little nuts in the past few days. But she had not been feeling so well, and hadn't cared to investigate it. But now, it's clear that water is beginning to feel the den. She looks down at her paws and takes some steps back, the base of the den quickly turning to mud. "T..Takata...!"
at this time Takata was actually rushing home from a unsuccessful hunt, all the loud thunderous sounds from the mountain had turned into what she feared, a flood! The river ahead of them was roaring more and more and now She was nearing the den sigght in which she had to wade towards. "Inali! Get out of the den! We have to run!" She cried, glad she reached the den before it was completely flooded out the water rising more and more now.
Inali shakes her head as she eeks, water was quickly spilling in. She struggles inside, the dirt den threatening to collapse as it turns to mud. But Inali had been sick for a few days -- she looks rather awful, with thick lines around her eyes. She had opted previously to chance the weather and stay inside. She had lived her for a while now and didn't care to abandon it. "H..help," she begs as she paws at the entrance, finding it hard to maintain footing.
Takata was at the den in mere seconds of the cry for help. "Don't worry I am not going to leave you!" She says shifting to get a stable grip on the muddy ground. As she gets the best grip she can she presses her muzzle into the den and snaps her jaw around whatever of the vixen she can whimpering. This was do or die! she needed to get her mate out! she spent too much time dawdling about stupid stupid stupid!
Inali wiggles and squirms, pawing at the buddy entrance until her body finally seems to make some headway against the sticky mud. Quickly the entire den seems to fall down and collapse around her, entire rump covered in thick watery dirt, fur nearly completely coated. She hadn't wanted to believed this would happen back when she first noticed the warning signs a few days ago -- stupid of her to stay in the den. But this sudden surge had all happened so quickly, as she feels the ankles of her paws now consumed in water. "T..Takata," she whimpers, huffing as she stares at the fox, looking quite dirty and more sickly than before. "Our den," she turns and stares at it. And then suddenly her eyes flare up. "Kelevor! Where is he?" She turns to look about -- she, at least, is pretty sure she did not see him in the den when it collapsed.
==== Crooked Brook ====
Takata let go just long enough to answer. "Hes safe I sent him off he was out playing" She says as then she pressed in and her maws tightly almost painfully grips onto Inali's neck nape and as she recieves this hold she hauls, For a moment she looks like she is going to slip into the den and make it both of there tombs but thanks to a buried rock she gains purchase and starts to pull with all her might on the other vixen desperately pulling.
Inali's rump slides free of the mud with a sickly slurp. She looks back behind her and wiggles it a little, making sure everything is intact. The water from the mountain is still cold. And there is still water everywhere, as she paces around Takata slowly. "Is it going to get worse? What now," she asks sadly as she watches the final hole fold into a muddy wake.
Takata stares at Inali for a moment. "We get the heck out of here! we get far from the water, right now we lost our den but at least we have each other" She says cheerfully as she then takes off twords the west calling back, wanting to put distance between them and death. "I sent Kelevor this way told him to tree himself"
Inali nods and suddenly feels very light headed. The excitement had gotten her condition a little muddled, and she feels a buzzing in her head as she tries to stagger toward Takata, following her. "Alright, we -- we'll be fine, yes," she says, her eyes fading in and out of brightness.
Takata was tearing up through the spongy ground, but then.. Inali's voice sounded to be distancing... so she looked back and saw Inali staggering. Oh no! she really is sick. Takata was thinking before that Inai was simply playing around getting her to get all the food but now to her horrors she had to run back and help guide. Without a second though she shoots back and nuzzles in close to inali presses her and urging her forward.
Inali trudges on in behests of her love. "Takata..." she says blushing mildly, panting a little perhaps from fever. She hadn't felt so awful when she was still in the den. But that's gone now... and perhaps she was foolish to stay stubbornly inside for so long. She quickens her pace to the best of her ability. The water was still rising, making it hard to walk.
Takata is right by her side gently pushing and encouraging her to keep pacing forward it would ebb a difficult trek but the waters were starting to just make the ground a it spongy. Soon as Takata saw merely thirty yards away, that was dry and that would be easier. "Dear we can rest when we are on dry ground dear just a bit further" She encourages gently continuing to push her not wanting to wear her down since she was sooo sick.
Inali nods softly and smiles. "You... you saved my life back there," she acknowledges in wonderment. "You could have... been hurt," she says as she makes way for the dry land. She eventually, with weariness, climbs atop it, before promptly throwing up.
==== Thickening Forest ====
Takata continues to urge her towards the dry ground. "I would do it every time dear, for you" She admits and is still shocked inwardly to know that she was being completely honest. So continues to tug. "Yeah.. I know but I wouldn't want to live without you... " She admits. As they reach dry ground she too falls over yet fortunately she doesn't throw up.
Inali nods and smiles. She is amazed this fox had once been so much like her. And she is even more amazed that she, herself, seems to be changing. She had never felt so much appreciation from someone in her life. She stares at he as she wheezes gently, feeling as though it would be difficult for her to move again.
Takata frowns at this fact that she is going to be hard to move. She paces about suddenly watching the water. "Rest up Inali, we might need to move again" She says staring out over there ruined den area frowning letting out a small whimper. There den.. there livelihood was gone. "I just hope conner is okay.." She whispers.
Inali nuzzles into the red fox and sighs, feeling better already as she is on dry land and able to rest against someone warm again. They'll figure out what to do. They always do.
