Storm; Lazuli Alpha
Felstride; Lazuli Alpha
SilentPaws; Lazuli Adolescent
So many wolves around, an one damn she-wolf that has been marking over her scents. Storm is anything but amused and when she finds that wolf its not going to be a pretty sight. So far the one female trying to cause a problem has yet to make it this far on the lands at least. The alpha is making her way along the creek heading towards where the den is, perhaps she'll get to rest. Not likely though..
He knows about these other wolves as well; just something else to worry him it seems. Felstride has been prowling the boundaries where some strange female has been covering over their boundaries with her fowl stench, and Felstride has been painstakingly covering them up with his own scent -- plus a bit. Snort. He too is heading back to the winter den site, weaving through the thick undergrowth in a fowl mood. But, at the rustling near him he scents the air and smiles warmly as he realizes it is his Alphess. Felstride burrs softly and alters his course to meet her, nuzzling Storm's shoulder as he falls into stride with her.
Storm ears prick at the sound of movement and her gaze snaps towards the side where she catches sight of Felstride, a faint sigh of relief escapes her and she pauses to nuzzle him back. "Good to see a friendly face around here." She offers softly recalling the male that was wandering around the night before. "New wolves all over the darn place.." The alpha mutters faintly.
"Ay, I know," Felstride nearly purrs, slowing his pace as they reach the cavern entrance and shaking his pelt free, trying to get rid of a little stress. "I have been covering up their stench for sometime out at our borders." That said, he lets go of a soft sigh and buries his face in Storm's neck ruff and curls his tail around his footpaws. So much has gone on, and he just hasn't had enough time to settle down and relax once in a while. He still needs to mention the idea of expanding their family to his Alphess, but he decides to wait at least a little.
Storm nods a bit and comes to a full stop once there near the cavern as well. She slides down to her haunches maw twitching as her gaze narrows some as it rests on the forest. "One male had the nerve to come ever so near here." A ear perks some and a faint smile crosses her maw as she leans back against Felstride, her eyes closing while she presses her head into his shoulder. "I'm worried.." The she-wolf finally offers. She's lost her family twice in the past and she's not sure if she could deal with another loss like that.
"I know," Felstride murmurs, nuzzling under Storm's neck in an attempt to comfort her. "We need to stay strong, though, and I know that you will be able to do just that." That said, he begins to smooth down her ruffled pelt to relax the both of them, placing a gentle paw on top of one of her own. Everything with Midnight, these strange new wolves, SilentPaws, Miakoda, and their strange ways of running a pack have all come down around their ears very quickly.
"I only hope that I can.. I get the feeling that I've turned SilentPaws and Miakoda against me though." Storm sighs. "I never wanted that.. I only let Midnight join because he could help if it came down to a fight. Even more so with Pinta turning his back on us and leaving like that." She pauses. "I suppose that's only part of the problem though."
Storm takes in a sligh breath, her gaze drifting off for a few moments before she looks back to Felstride. "I only hope I can speak to them and they understand. I understand how they feel.. Midnight knows I'll rip him apart if he even thinks about harming anyone here. I told him he'd have to prove himself to everyone.. Midnight wasn't anything like his sister or the rest of that pack, not that it'll ease anyone's mind I'm sure." The she-wolf pauses and smiles a bit before leaning up to nuzzle against Fel's cheek. "Yes you are.. I'm very thankful for that to. I'm not to sure what I'd do if you wasn't here."
His conversation with Felstride the other night made his mood take a full swing and head in the other direction. Frustrated and confused, he went back and immersed himself into travelling through the undergrowth and afterwards he spent most of the night trying to get his fur sorted from all the sticks, leaves and thorns that got stuck in it. Now that his fur is straightened out and he's gotten a bit of rest, he walks with slow steps towards where their new gathering place is. He caught himself venturing towards the glade for a little while before he was reminded they didn't stay there a lot anymore, which was probably for the better, it was getting colder. Once snow falls, shelter will be nice to have.
"By the way," Felstride murmurs softly, giving Storm a bit of an impish grin and managing a light laugh, hoping to ease the mood just a little bit. He taps his tail upon the ground, almost like a little pup, and nuzzles at his Alphess' ear, whispering as he does so, "I was thinking about something rather special. Perhaps a few small paws in the caves would ease your heart?" That said, his ears perk as he notices SilentPaws' approach, withdrawing from his whisper and standing to greet the young wolf with a soft smile and a nod.
Storm tilts her head while peering at Felstride curiously, she blinks and blushes faintly a few seconds. "Perhaps.." She offers softly and leans up to nip back at Felstride's cheek before the sound of movement catches her attention while Fel stands up looking off. Her attention turns to SilentPaws an she smiles nodding to him as well. "Evening SilentPaws."
As SilentPaws gets a little closer, taking note of Felstride and Storm, his expression doesn't say much about his mood. Not angry, not happy, just kind of there, at least at the moment. Once he's closer, he settles down, giving a nod to both of them before settling down on his haunches. "Evening..." he greets his alphas and his gaze eventually turns to Storm and then he starts to look like something is bothering him. "You...let Midnight into the pack? ... why?" the question had been nagged for quite a while, but the last thing Felstride said the other night made him realize he should at least let her explain the reason for doing so.
He's not wasting any time, is he? At least he's taking the suggestion to heart, though. Felstride settles himself back down on his haunches, his gaze soft as it moves from the teenager to the she-wolf, curling his tail close around him for warmth. He takes a slow deep breath, shuffling his paws ever so slightly. Part of his mind is on Storm's response to his suggestion, the other half on he coming response.
Storm ears perk, no his not taking any time at all. She doesn't get mad though as she was expecting it. "I undersand how you feel Silentpaws.. I wish I could have spoken to everyone before I made my decision but I did not and I reget that now truely. There are wolves poping up all over the place the past few days. I'm guessing because winter is basicly upon us and there looking for new food sources, the point is with Pinta leaving us we needed the extra help. From hunting to guarding the lands we seriously needed another pair of eyes to be on the look out. There is a group of wolves stalking around the borders of are lands as we speak, there bound and determind to do something as they keep covering are scent marks wih there own. With Midnight pack gone another group of wolves has taken up there spot in the mountains.. I'm guessing Pinta is with them as I haven't found his scent down here anymore." The alpha pauses before going on. "I know he wronged you SilentPaws.. An I'm truely sorry for that. I don't expect you to trust him, I don't expect any of you to but he will listion to me. If he steps one hair out of line his gone. I've already threatened to rip his throat out if needs be. He knows I'll do it to."
"I was unaware Pinta had left us..." he says, still frowning. "But is that a reason to let an enemy in amongs the pack? You know what I told you about what Midnight said in our encounter. He held a grudge for you as you deserted his pack and he emphasized he was gonna make you pay for that. Moreover, insults flew like a stream of water and he even ended up attacking me. The only redeeming factor about his behaviour is the fact he didn't kill me, but he will always be an enemy to me. I'm afraid I'll no longer be able to think of the pack as my family, but rather only a part of the pack. It'll never be the same to me, how'd you expect me to react to this?" he lets out a soft sigh and shakes his head.
"That saddens me, SilentPaws," is all that Felstride offers the young wolf nearly in a whisper, knowing that what he said yesterday about being his alpha probably helped in his decision to consider the pack no longer family. He's not sure what else he can offer, because there are so many variables that someone was bound to get hurt; apparently it was SilentPaws. He sighs softly and shakes his head. "We are under pressure from all sides. Strange wolves and deserting members. As a family we are falling apart, and we are trying very hard to keep ourselves together and strong. I know you have expressed no desire to have anything to do with Midnight, and that it your right but I ask you this: Consider our position and the troubles now.. what would you have us do?"
"I assure you that Pinta turned his back on use in are time if need.. We have wolves on are front wanting are land and most likely to kill the ones that live here.." Storm pauses glancing to Felstride and nods, agreeing with what he says before looking back to SilentPaws. "I'm deeply sorry you feel this way SilentPaws, and yes he might still wish to do me harm, if that is the case then that is my fate. But they always say to keep your friends close and your enemies closer.. This way we can at least watch Midnight if nothing else. He won't be going off to join this group of wolves around the corner."
SilentPaws hmms and frowns, shaking his head softly. "We're in much the same situation as before, only with a different pack. Tremayne has been disbanded, scattered, hardly a worry and if Pinta is in this new pack, do you honestly think he'd mean us harm? Would he be in a pack like that? We might bicker over territories for a while, but assuming that's gonna turn into a fight between our packs is assuming the worst, still you let someone we should most certainly consider an enemy into our pack. Keeping our enemies closer just means they're able to deliver an unexpected and more harmful strike than before. He's closer to us, but we're also closer to him."
"If you are not worried about packs doing little more than territory bickering, then perhaps in time your feelings about Midnight will change." With his opinion voices softly, Felstride stands and bumps his shoulder against Storm and smiles warmly to her. Then, he begins to move off, nodding towards SilentPaws as he passes by and ventures into the undergrowth, "I am going to check the boundaries again," he churrs, and turns into the dense forest at a brisk trot.
OOC: I left at this point (obviously). If Storm or SilentPaws has the rest of it, feel free to post it ;D
