Bodhi - Adulf Wolf.
Wanageeska - Adolescent Wolf.
----
Wanageeska didn't think he'd come back here, but Rowtag's escapade with the bear had him return, and now he wasn't quite sure where he belonged. Such an act would have been considered a sign back home, and though Skelaghe thanked him for saving the deviant little pup there was still tension in the air. The young male sat among the clovers, watching the sunset. He had not been asked to leave, or asked to stay---he was just there, his scent muted in the wind as it had been since he first arrived.
Bodhi wanders the area without any aim or reason, having long ago decided that the best way to explore new land was to do it as such, for some reason atleast in his experience its how he encounters most fun or strange things. His eyes darting here and there as he moves in an almost 'dancing' manner with his tail swaying behind him
Wanageeska closed his eyes, turning his ears this way and that to listen for anyone that might be coming up near him, specifically from behind. The last creature he needed was Wyanet, given their last encounter. After saving Rowtag, he didn't need another possibly damning encounter with anyone.
And hearing something Wanageeska does as Bodhi starts to humm on one of the countless songs he knows and likes to practice when he is alone; while he prefers to sing, its not something he would want to show strangers yet, even if their alpha is one of his oldest friends. His wandering leading him toward Wana in a rather convulted route
Wanageeska had not smelled this creature before, or heard this singing. There was a wolf among the Ute that did sing--one named Quidel--but this was a different tone and pitch, more of a hum. The young wolf's ears stood upright and he turned his head to look in the direction from which the sound came.
Bodhi finally catching a sight of Wana stops humming and dips his head slightly in respect "Greetings and salutation" His head tilting slightly to the side as he studies the other wolf
Wanageeska tilted his head. Such a formal talker--he liked that. "Good day," he said. "You are one I've not had a chance to meet yet. But you do not smell like the others, you're new."
Bodhi smiles slightly "Considering i only got permission to enter her last night, the same night i admittedly decided to cross the creek and look what was on the other side" his head tilting the other way "i would have been quite surprised if you knew my scent" Bodhi's form gently settling down on the ground as he relaxes "I am Bodhi, at your service"
"Snow," came the young wolf's response. "I am a newcomer here, though I may not be here for long." He wouldn't explain why, just state the facts. He still didn't know what he was supposed to do since the last encounter with Skel. "Curious on how you speak of service. What sort of service?"
Bodhi chuckles softly "An pleasure to meet you Snow, and thats actually a rather good question" his lips quirking slightly "its mostly a figure of speech and i think you are one of maybe 5 who have asked me in all the time i've used it." His voice somewhat mirthfull as he swishes his tail "In general tho i simply tend to be happy helping others with problems they might have"
"Problems, you say," said Wan, watching the older wolf. "I have a problem: indecision on where to go. I am without purpose going back home to my birthpack, without purpose should I leave this packland of the Ute, and my purpose lies in question as long as I remain near this pack."
Bodhi cocks his head slightly "may i ask what your birthpack is called, and why your purpose lies in question near this pack?" his gaze surveying the area quickly before returning to the younger wolf "An equally important question might be what your purpose actually is?"
Wanageeska wrinkled his nose slightly at the question. He would have to be somewhat vague on that. "My birthpack is Miakoda--not local," he said. "I question my purpose, being Helaku's son, but not Skelaghe's. The ways I am accustomed to do not mesh well with the ways here. I question upper rank when I feel they are out of line, as I was learned in the ways of ranks growing up. But it seems that criticizing and questioning rank here is unaccepted. Recently, I saved one of Skelaghe's sons from being killed by a bear, and she was thankful, but nothing more. Though I saved her son, it does not seem to matter if I stay or leave."
"Am I, or am I not," said Wan. "I seem to be at the least welcomed and not told to leave, but it leaves to question if I am part of the pack. I will question anything I see as questionable no matter where, when, who it is because that is the nature of wolves from whence I come. We act with logic and reason, not primal instinct."
Bodhi grins slightly "Aaah, but who is to say what exactly is logical and reasonable; after all its quite subjective and what seems logical to you, might seem unreasonable to somebody else" his eyes scanning the area tho his head remains focused on Wan "personally i am permitted to wander the packs lands and i have not requested to join them" a soft breath exhaled "have you considered the possibility of them observing you to see if you would fit in with the pack?"
"Observing me," he said. "I come from a pack that lived unseen, unobserved but always present." That was something he was not too willing to change. Exposing himself now felt like a sin and quite unadviseable given it was how his pack thrived. "Knowing them insofar by the way they treat the issue, they'd make no effort to have me as much as for me to leave."
Bodhi muses toughtfully "One usually get a truer view of somebody if observing from a distance then being up close and personally affecting how they act " his head given a slight dip "tho obviously in the long run both are needed for the most accurate view" a brow raising slightly "wouldn't you agree?"
Wanageeska's tail slowly flicked about. "They all seem to me to not much care for my presence in general, yet they do not outright reject it. Normally, packs would be blunt with it. This is why I question my purpose, because they fail to show signs on a yes or no. When the beta insulted the original Alpha, my very own father, and I called her on it no one seemed to care much...except perhaps Skelaghe. If I simply walk off, no one will care. If I stay, they still may not care. There is no answer."
odhi dips his head slightly "Since i don't know the details sorrounding your father i am going to do the sensible thing and not comment on it" his gaze turning to the sky "and most might not really 'care' because they do not consider it their business; but that of the Alphas and Betas; this is pure speculations tho" the right side of his lips quirking slightly "and keep in mind; not all answers are quick to arrive; so some patience might be required
Wanageeska wrinkled his nose again, being a rather unexpressive sort. "The Beta is one I do not under any circumstances trust." That said it all, end of story. He wouldn't speak of that subject any further.
Bodhi simply dips his head as he remains silent; not really having another possible suggestion to the situation
