Two-River Fork
Tariro - male Wolf (Alpha)
Rockfall - male juve. Wolf
Halidari - female Wolf
--------
Tariro has undoubtedly been keeping a watch over things in the area, however it also seems to have proved useless as it seems some of the pack have moved upriver and he didn't even notice till now. Leaving the fallen log behind, the white wolf ventures out to find those who have gathered else where. As he does, however, he picks up on a few unfamiliar scents in the area and proceeds carefully.
Rockfall was snoozing soundly at the river's edge. He (and apparently his littermates) have been quite sleepy since the move, so many new scents and tails to learn, a bit overwhelming ... but in time they will adjust. At the sound of his father's paws, though, he yawns lazily, stretches and gets to his paws.
Halidari has remained at the tributary for a while longer even after the meeting between the packs took place. She hoped to meet a few she'd missed; a pair of foxes, but luck just wouldn't have it. Within a few days, she was off to find those of her now new pack. Arriving down river, it seemed obvious she was going the right direction but as to not second guess herself, she sniffs the air for any familiar scents.
Upon nearing closer to the river, Tariri does indeed find those missing from the pack and by his surprise many others as well. He had no idea who any of them were, but if he had to guess he'd say they were part of the old Lazuli. Looking them over, taking not of looks and the like should he happen to meet one of them at another time, an ear flicks to a sudden sound turning to it. Spotting his son in the distance the white wolf smiles moving over to him. Not saying a word to him, he leans down, when close enough, and nuzzles the pup.
Rockfall wags and nuzzles his dad back, trying to work out another yawn. "Dad!" he yips happily, his tail whipping like crazy. The young pup licks his father under his chin, having to stretch his neck up to even reach that.
Halidari took to a quiet note as she moved through the forest and down river. She didn't know what was in the area but had a feeling she was about to find out as she neared a visible group in the distance. Keeping an eye out for anyone awake, the first the shewolf finds are several of her own family. Moving up to them its one moment later that the sudden spoken word of 'dad' draws her attention upward. It was that wolf from the meeting.. what was his name again. "Well if it wasn't our new alpha." She was still rather disapproving of this unknown wolf taking lead of the pack.
Tariro chuckles lightly down to the pup. "Didn't wake you did I?" Not that he believed Rockfall would of stayed asleep long with him in the area anyway; followed him everywhere after all. Not long after those words does he hear those of another from behind. Ears up, the alpha lifts his head from his son and looks behind him to the female wolf. When noticing it was the one from a few days ago he clears his throat. "I don't appropriate your sarcasm." Just the way she made herself known was enough for him to know she didn't fully agree to his lead. "Especially around my son." He looks back to Rockfall for a moment then back to wolfess. "I saw you at the meeting yet didn't catch you name; may I ask, what is it?"
Rockfall turns his head to the unfamiliar shewolf. He sits quietly at his father's forepaw, looking at her. He gives her a bit of an odd look, then looks up at his father, then back to her when his father asks her name, something he'd like to know himself.
A light smile comes to Halidari as he stands there and looks rather apologetically to the wolf and his son. "I am sorry if that came off as snide. It was not my intention." She wasn't normally this way, its just with all that's happened she just hasn't been herself; and its this wolf. Letting out a sigh she says, "My apologies.. I am Halidari, born of the Lazuli and eldest of its remaining members." That was sure a mouthful. Bowing a tad she does not reduce her stature to the new alpha but does show a certain amount of respect all the same.
"A daughter of the Lazuli." The white wolf remarks. "Well it is certainly an honor to meet you." For a moment he was starting to think the pack was made up of soly males since he hadn't seen any of its females. Looking at the female Tariro wonders something but doe snot ask as it would be rude of him. "When I saw you last, you looked to not approved of what had taken place." This he says to the older wolf. "Might I ask why?"
Rockfall decides to inject an introduction of his own. "And I am Rockslide, a proud son of Viridian!" He smiles pridefully. "... and now a son of ... Sero ... Sero ..." he tries to remember how to pronounce the new pack name, but stumbles. "Seroline?"
Halidari is quiet for a brief moment as she looks down to the juvenile. "I believe it is Cerulean, dear." A light smile over her muzzle as she assists the young wolf. Looking back to Tariro she sighs. "It is a long story, one I am both ashamed and disapproving of." She didn't want to talk about, not yet anyway, and this she hopes he picks up on.
Tariro says nothing as Halidari corrects his son, not even sure how to pronounce it fully himself yet. When the shewolf gives reply to his question, he nods indeed picking up on her desire not to speak of it. He nods to this and leaves it be. "I understand." He'll wait till she is ready and when she is, he wont be far.
Rockfall says it out loud for practice, "Sayrulen ... Sayruleen ... Ceruleeen ... Cerulean!" He sniffs the air. "Dad, is it just me, or does it smell like a lot of deer are about?" he asks, licking his chops. "Do deer come out more in fall?"
Re leaved that he didn't push her into storytelling, Hali smiles. Settling down to her haunches it suddenly dawns on her own tired she really is and presents it with an unavoidable yawn. "Oh, please do forgive me. It would seem the day has caught up with me." Looking down to the pup once more she says, "Most animals come here in the fall, not just deer." Dropping down to a lay, she had more to say to that but fails as she decides on sleep. "I should be getting some sleep now. It was a pleasure to meet you both personally." Laying her head down it does not take long for the shewolf to find slumber.
Seeing the female drift off to sleep, Tariro sighs. It was short but least they didn't just share stares this time. Looking to his son he smiles. "You be sure to remember that name ok son." Taking a sniff of the air next he does pick up on the scent of deer but isn't to concerned. If he knew them, they'd of up and left the area by now.
Rockfall looks up at dad. "Do the other Lazuli not feel comfortable around us, dad?" he asks.
Tariro shrugs to this and isn't sure. "I do not know son, I suppose a few feel that way. This is all new to everyone, its going to take time for all of us to see what the other sees." he tells him. "We when do, I'm sure will be a stronger pack because of it." Dropping down in front of his son he noses him. "Don't you worry, things will be fine."
