Trickling River
Coinin - Male Wolf
Tariro - Male Wolf, Alpha of Cerulean
---
Coinin is presently resting himself in his more or less usual spot somewhere near the river. His tail flicks gently back at forth as he ponders all of the things that he has learned over the last few days. Most of his thought is presently devoted to the rather large group of animals that lives nearby. Its true that the group seems rather welcoming and friendly but they are most certainly odd. The coyotes and the foxes don't make a great deal of sense to him. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that he lived a rather sheltered life and didn't interact with non-wolves very much. The group does have numbers though and that gives him pause should they ever decide that they wanted to be hostile.
The mountain battle fought, not completely by him either, and the stolen youth returned to their rightful homes; it was time to return home. His presence in the battle was short, a good hit to the head the cause of that, but Tariro managed to stick around to see the end and ensure those of his pack made it out alive, if only for the most part. Stepping through the light blacket of snow thats covered the ground, Tari' stops every few paces to whip his muzzle in the snow leaving a red smear behind. The cold seemed to help, making the pain easier to bare.
Coinin hears the sound of snow crunching under someone's paws and raises his head to sniff the air. He isn't overly familiar with the scents of everyone in the pack, but he had made special effort to memorize the scent of Tariro when he met him the first time. After all when someone is your boss you like to know when they are coming so that you can give them proper attention. He also smells the scent of blood on the air. He supposes it could be the scent from a hunt, but he also knows that Niyt and some of the others were leaving to get some young ones back and he has been awaiting their return. He immediately gets to his feet and lowers his head a bit so as not to look directly at the alpha. He also make sure to keep his tail low as a sign of respect, "Hello lord Tariro." The pack of his youth tended to be more on the formal side and old habits die hard.
Tariro would of normaly picked up on the wolf's scent a head of time in his approach, but as he tried to focus his attention on the things around him, his mind fell on his own injuries. Coinin, for the moment is unnoticed until he is seen bowed in respect. Dropping a lone ear, he looks at the wolf with a raised brow. 'Lord' wasn't a word is was accustom to much like being called alpha was. Licking his muzzle, a brief sting, he nods his head to his guest. "Hello Coinin."
Coinin isn't what you would call nervous, but he certainly does want to make a good impression. In general he is anxious to please if he can. He manages to sneak a few glances toward the other wolf and notes his injuries. It does cause him some concern, but neither would it be appropriate to comment much on this for fear of coming across like you didn't believe the alpha could handle whatever injury he might have sustained. So he limits his comment on this issue to, "You are hurt. Do you need any help?" He would very much like to ask several questions, but he restrains his curiosity for the time being. He maintains his posture.
Tariro moves past Coinin a few steps before stopping. Being asked of his well-being was expected, even from someone he hardly knew. "I'll be fine." He states, "But thank you for your concern." It was just a bite mark afterall and wasn't even that deep; or so he'd admit. "You seen anything of worry during my absence?" With the previous situation taken care of it was time to revert back to the pack and its needs.
Coinin wouldn't know if he would call it anything to worry about but he does have some information that he would like to share with him, "I hope this meets with your approval. I was recently out for a walk and came across a young wolf. She says that she is the daughter of someone named Helios and is looking for her father. As I was talking to her, her aunt arrived and since they had nowhere safe to stay I invited them to stay here with us. I didn't feel it was appropriate for someone so young to be alone, and I felt it would be extremely rude not to extend the courtesy." That was the first major bit that he wanted to share, "I also wanted to inform you that living very close to here is a rather large group of what appears to be coyotes and foxes, though I caught the scent of others animals as well. A coyote named Bristlecone arrived here the other evening and spoke to us and I felt I would investigate this group further. Thier leader is a coyote called Rye. He too seemed very friendly, but I felt you should know how close they are to your territory."
Worry wasn't a word Tariro used lightly or even very often, but he felt it the right word to use without his watchful eye to properly give title. Paused in a stand, the alpha turns his head to face to wolf as he waited for what was to be said. Upon hearing said news, his eyes grow wide. A daughter of Helios; he knew there was much to still learn of those from the Lazuli but never did he think one of them wold have children without him knowing as much. Keeping that in mind, he looks to the other bid of infomation addressed to him and nods. He knows of this said group and has actually met a few of them in the past. "Thank you Coinin." Both bits equally important, Tariro arrival of the young wolf and her aunt just seem to peak his interest a tad more then a possible intrusion of coyotes and foxes; especially ones that come off as friendly. "Where are these two now?" He wonders.
Coinin is pleased that he is pleased. He had figured that given his kind welcome that a kind welcome would be extended to others as well, "I believe they are here." he says. At least he hadn't seen them depart or heard anything of the kind, though they did show some interesting in finding the other wolf pack. Now that his information has been given and the alpha seems to be pleased he raises his head only slightly.
Somewhere here... With a hrm, Tariro looks around the area; something he probably should of done the moment he got here. Many familiar faces filled his gaze; turning back to Coinin, his gaze stops along two he doesn't know. "I hope to meet them soon." This said he doesn't move to examine the two further as to pervent the invation of personal space even as they slept.
Coinin thought that the two of them seemed to be rather upstanding individuals, "They were both very nice. Catori is the name of Helios's daughter, and her aunts name is Rayen." He isn't sure that the names will mean anything, but that way if either of them pops up he will know who is who. He feels that the last few days have been rather well spent.
The names are foreign to him, but Tariro puts them to memory. A nod given, he looks to each wolf seperately, noting their age difference. It was odd that Helios would fail to mention he had family out there, unless he doesn't know of them himself. Pondering this he looks away.
Coinin knows a bit of the story that goes along with her presence here, but he won't be volunteering this information unless he is asked further. He gives the alpha time to collect his thoughts. His thoughts then turn to other things, the first of which is wondering about where his friend Niyt is. He had figured that the group would come back together. He doesn't really lift his head but he does sniff the air attempting to see if she is nearby somewhere.
Tariro would ask further of the reason for the twos presence, but he figured it'd be best to hear from them, not that Coinin isn't capable of sparing him the wait. He would rather just hear it from them. Picking up on the wolfs observation of the area behind him, he blinks. "If its Niyt you look for, she and Lexus will be here soon. They wanted to make sure the young ones were reunited with to their families safely." He would of done the same but his priority was with his own pack.
Coinin is relieved when he hears that both of them will be returning, "Were they uninjured?" he asks. Well in his old pack it might have been rude to ask the alpha an unsolicited question, but he can't contain his curiosity about the outcome of the battle. He certainly hopes that they are both perfectly fine, but given that Tariro came back with an injury it is likely the fight was difficult.
Tariro couldn't be to sure about what injuries fell upon whom but he knew one thing and that his niece made it out without a mark. Due to her disability in sight he was glad of this. His uncle however was lightly not to of shared teh same fate. "Niyt is fine.. Lexus however, has always been the protector. It is likely he suffered more injures than even myself. I am sure they are none fatal." He was uncertain of this however and could only hope he was alright.
Coinin is pleased to hear that no injuries befell Niyt. He doesn't doubt that she can take care of herself but given her lack of sight he was concerned. He is sorry to hear about Lexus, but Tariro doesn't seem to be overly concerned and he chooses not to be concerned either. With that curiosity out of the way he can now turn to his other request of the alpha, "I also have a request of you." he says. He turns around to face Tariro and speaks further, "I would like to join your pack." he says.
Tariro has a feeling that one day he'd ask such a question. A light smile falls to his face as he looks to Coinin. "Are you sure?" In all honestly he'd love to have him around, he's proven useful and decently concerned about those in the pack; something not many tend to express.
Coinin has figured out in life you can't be 100% certain about anything in life. Still he believes that at the present moment this is the best thing that he can do. He has found that he likes the wolves here, and there is no point in remaining as simply as a guest. Besides he has a good feeling about this place in general, "Yes." he says simply. After all is there really any need to elaborate on that.
That was all Tariro needed to hear. "Then I welcome you as part of the pack." Like everyone he accepts he puts them on a watch period, but he doesn't mention that; its something he wishes to keep to himself so new members are themself rather than something their not in order to impress. Nodding to Coinin he smiles. "I hope your time here is a remeberable one."
Coinin has noticed that most times are very memorable. He is certain that the time he spends here will be well spent, at the very least it will be interesting. He wouldn't be surprised to that he was being watched, he figured he was being watched anyway. He will certainly do his best to impress. He is rather proud of himself at this point. After all he wasn't sure he would find any place willing to accept him, but he did, "Thank you...thank you very much." he says.
Tariro nods once more. "You are quite welcome my friend." An addition to the pack was something to be proud of seeing as there hasn't been a new face in some time. Having Coinin around should prove that indeed that pack is still alive and still holds a future. Taking a seat, now wonders what the wolfs first act as a member will be.
Coinin would certainly hope that the pack has a future, he feels that it does. There seems to be quite a few good wolves here and he has felt very welcome. He would imagine that many wolves would want to join this pack if they only knew about it. He takes a moment to collect his thoughts and decides to do what any new wolf to a pack would do...ask for a job, "What duties would you like me to follow through with?" he asks. Well he has known that being in a pack is about service.
Tariro hadn't really thought about what jobs he'd place on anyone. He was usually one to do them himself, but if Coinin was offering his services he couldn't just leave the guy hanging. "You've proven yourself well with keeping an eye out our borders. So let us start with patroling and ensureing our home is safe fro those who wish to do us harm." He states. "We can travel together or work alone, it is up to you."
Coinin is certainly willing to follow through with a job like that. He does like to pay attention to what is going on and keep an eye on things, "I would be very happy to do that." He doesn't know exactly where the borders of the territory are, but perhaps if he patrolled the border with Tariro at least a few times he would be able to figure that out quickly, "I would be happy to do either...whatever is most convient for you."
Tariro nods and says nothing else of the matter. There were still things that needed to be done that were long over due. "Good. I Look forward to seeing you out there then." With that he stands. "For now there are things I need to attend to. Try to enjoy yourself in the meantime." He now starts to move off.
