Ahiga - male adolescent wolf
Tala - female adolescent wolf
---Clover Lawn---
Sometimes, there are times where you don't want to do anything. Today is one of those days for Ahiga. He doesn't feel like looking around for something to hunt, doesn't want to do a lot of patrolling. Really, he's taking a day to himself and is spending it near the creek. He has some things to think about, anyway. He's bent down, having broken away a bit of ice already, and drinks to freezing cold water with a slight wince on his face. Tootootoo cold!
Tala is not all that far away from Ahiga it seems, slowly following along with her tail swaying a few times in the process. A slight yawn escaping her as she pauses short glancing one way and then another before she continues forward to where he is at the water's edge. "Sort of amazing how quickly it got so cold.. and snowy.."
"Yeah. Don't think it came this fast las' year," Ahiga replies with a glance to Tala, licking his muzzle a few times to warm up his poor frozen tongue. "'Least, I don't remember it comin' this fast," he remarks, smirking a little. He leans over a little to lightly brush his muzzle against her cheek. "But we're kinda deep in. It'll be over before we know it and it'll be warm again. Spring'll be here. Wachiwa will be back." He smiles a little, not sure just how much he believes that last bit, but for her sake, he says it anyway. "Hey.. I heard about that...cat thing that was around."
Tala nods slightly as her tail flicks about and shen looks to Ahiga, a soft smile seen while she nuzzles back at his neck. "Ya I know.. I just hope everything will go alright." She offers softly. A faint hum escapes her. "Did Ikuna tell you then?.. I'm sort of worried about it to say the least." A shake of her head seen.
Ahiga shakes his head. "Nah. Jus' heard," he says, ears perking a little. "Not everyday ya see a mini bobcat with a tail, huh?" He smirks a little, though his head slightly tilts to one side. "What did it say that's got you so worried, anyway?" asks with vaguely furrowed brows.
Tala hums softly and nods at this while she settles to her haunches, tail flicking a few times in the process. "The cat talked about men.. and dogs.. Dogs that have curly tails like that one that we saw with Anoki." A slight shake of her head is seen. "The cat said that men would bring dogs, these dogs would hunt down the wolves and bring the men to kill us.. He commented about how the men would send out female dogs in heat to get the male wolves attention and thus lower there guard."
Dogs... hunt wolves? Ahiga's brows furrow as he listens to Tala, indeed thinking back to the dog that they left back in Cerulean. She sure did seem rather intent on befriending Anoki, and Anoki didn't seem too hesitant to take her under his paw as a new friend. Was she a female in heat? If so, /he/ didn't notice. His brows remain lowered in thought, though after a while, his light smirk can be seen again. "Dogs, hunt wolves?" he says, tilting his head a bit. "C'mon. If you've seen the dogs I've seen, y'wouldn't be worried. They're stupid, Tala. We're smart. We have our pack. Before these dogs could bring...Men, we'd kill'm, simple."
Tala nods slightly at this. "That is what the cat said.. Talked about them sending dogs out to track the wolves.. An then more dogs would come, and men as well." She offers softly before looking to Ahiga. "I know.. I know we're smart and strong, but I am worried about Anoki and his family now."
"M'not scared of man," retorts Ahiga, voice confident both for himself and for her sake. He wiggles his tail a little and settles down onto his haunches next to her, leaning against her side. "Cerulean will be fine, Tala. If that female /is/ in heat, I bet the Alphas'll run her out. Nobody wants half breed dogs in their pack," said with a distasteful wrinkle of his nose. "Plus, Anoki's smart. If she's tryin' to fool him, he'll be the first to know about it. Right?" He gives her an encouraging nudge. "Right?"
Tala hums softly at this, pausing while looking to her friend. "I know your not.." There is a pause and a soft chuckle escapes her while she takes in a breath. "Well you do have a point there." A slight nod is seen at this.
"Course I have a point. When am I /ever/ wrong, huh?" Ahiga slightly puffs out his chest, then puffs it out a little more, swelling up like a balloon. He holds his breath to keep it jutted out, hoping at her, looking for a smile. Comedy. It soothes the soul! At least for a while, he hopes.
Tala does indeed smile, a soft chuckle escapes her and she leans over to nose at his cheek with a sway of her tail. "I'm not going to answer that." This said while she winks at him.
Deflate! Ahiga exhales his held breath in one long sigh, and he makes a face at her aferwards. "What? C'mon, I'm never wrong. Ever. I'm like, Mr. Perfect." He grins and lifts a paw to swat at her muzzle lightly, his tail thumping against the ground. "Hey, you wanna go for a walk with me?" he asks. "An' if we see that cat, an' I /hope/ we do, we can chase it down an' make sure it never shows its face in the Ute again." Spreading stories about dogs... bah!
Tala smiles as she watches Ahiga an leans over giving his cheek a faint lick and winks at him while she shifts to her paws. "Sure.. Sounds like a plan." This said happly while she starts to move forward. "An i'll do more then that if I see that cat again. Stupid rude thing.. I feel the need to rip its tongue out actually." Well there goes her bit of rage rising for a few moments.
"Hey, if it'll keep it from spreadin' more rumors, go for it," remarks Ahiga, snickering. It'd be a nice twist to the 'cat got your tongue?' saying. Wolf got your tongue? Ha! He can feel her anger, and he doesn't blame her. That cat has stressed her out, and he doesn't like that at all! "Rip it out an' spit it on the snow. Let it freeze so everyone knows what happens if they come around tryin' to stir things up with us." He continues to walk along the river, guiding her away from the lawn and towards other areas of the snowy packlands, mind unwillingly drifting to the female dog in Cerulean. The timing of her arrival and the cat's news...must be coincidence....right?
Tala chuckles now while she moves along a smile seen. "Well that is indeed one way to think on it." She offers softly at the idea and tilts her head to glance over at him. "I don't think he'll come back anytime soon.." An if he does, she'll make sure to give him a great big welcome!
