Abel drops by to see Wyanet, and she pushes him a bit far on accident. All's well that ends well. He also inadvertently revealed some feelings toward Maka.
--------------------------------------------
Settled beneath her favorite tree is Wyanet, busily gnawing on one of the sour apples that fell from the tree. She doesn't look too pleased by the taste in her mouth, her eyes squinted a bit, making a 'blech' face. After taking a bite, she munches thoughtfully, then spits it out on the ground, rolling her tongue out. "Eeeh!"
"GROSS!" Abel was on his way to the top of the hill, but upon seeing Wyanet munching on something, he makes a sharp turn towards her. He is honestly worried for a sibling of his, but perhaps it's for the best if he doesn't spend all of his time consumed by it. He has other, prettier things to think on. "What are you eating?" He calls out again, narrowing the distance between the two. He can smell the apple's juice and he sticks out his own tongue in disgust. "It smells like rotting flowers." He guesses; Abel's not entirely sure what rotting flowers smell like. He can only assume that it isn't a pleasant scent. It is only with a bit of fun that he continues to question her eating habits. His grey muzzle wrinkles as his imagination presses a vivid idea of what that must taste like.
"It tastes like rotten flowers." Wyanet says as she smacks the apple off to the side, letting it roll down the hill a bit, before pushing herself up to her paws, and gives herself a good shake of her pelt. "So, young Alpha to be. Your mother has put me in charge while she leaves the lands for some business." She says, tail swaying back and forth behind her. "For some reason or another, she felt it was best to promote to the rank of pack Beta." Oh boy, there's that grin of hers.
The son of Skelaghe squints, appearing like he could whine at any second. Honestly, Abel isn't too upset, but rather surprised and only joking around. He has become accustomed to his mother leaving for rather long periods of time, and ultimately it was always for the best. Wyanet does deserve the Beta position; she cares about the pack, and seems to be dominant enough. "You!?" He grins, matching her own. Abel has never doubted Skelaghe's decisions, and he never will. "Uhm... Greeeaaat." His tail cautiously wags as he sits down on the soft grass. "For some reason or another, eh? Huh."
"Yeah, I don't know why, maybe it's just my charming personality." Wyanet says as she marches her way closer towards the boy, looking amused, before leaning in to nip at his ear. Her voice drops down to a teasing whisper, "And if you were a bit older, I'd probably think about seducing you, so that we could lead this pack together." With a laugh, she leans back, before giving him a push to the side with her paw against his shoulder. "But, I wouldn't want to make my sister jealous." She hums loudly down to him. "I suppose I can now /order/ you to seek her out, and woo' her."
The new Beta's bluff is called, and Abel only seems to react by closing and eye and moves his head when she nips at his ear. He sticks his tongue out and catches his breath slightly. "As far as I can tell, you sound like the only jealous one out of all of us." Hopefully, Wyanet can take the teasing in return; Abel doesn't want to accidentally piss off the Beta, but he still plays close to the line. "I think you wish I was older, huh, Wyanet?" He mimics her motions and pushes her with the back of his paw. He can't help but laugh now; Abel feels like he won some sort of battle as he leans back and scratches his neck.
"Me? Jealous... please, young woof. I have Haht' wrapped around my tail, Kezu wrapped around my paw, and Quidel's eager, wandering eyes. If anything, I am swimming in studs." Wyanet says as she bats back at the younger male with a grin on her face, able to take the playful banter easily as she shoves him over once more. "And maybe I do wish you were a bit older." She rumbles deep in her chest, eyes half lidding, her voice growing softer. Wyanet Seduction! Her secret weapon as she leans forward to lick his cheek. "I bet you wish I was a bit younger, huh?" She asks teasingly. Oh geez. Now she's playing with the poor puppy's hormones. She's an expert at it.
Abel listens to Wyanet's little speech, feigning a whine as she bats at him again. Perhaps more than a little bit confused, he tries to keep a straight face, still keeping a good spirit. Abel is about to scratch his neck again, but stops as she lowers her voice to a whisper and so cruely taunts him. "Uhm..." He has to dig deep for this one. "Nah." He stares Wyanet in the eyes, just inches away from more laughter as it were. "I don't wish you were younger. Because I'd break your heart when I chose Maka over /you/." Abel has learned too much from Wyanet, maybe it isn't a good thing she's left in charge to deal with him.
"Oh really now, so you do plan on choosing Maka then?" Hello little fly, welcome to the spider's web. Wyanet straightens up a bit, then baps him between the ears. "Then why are you sitting around, flirting with me for? Why aren't you out there, looking for her.. bringing lovely red flowers, and poetry of love?" She says with a bolstering grin upon her face, tail thumping heavily upon the ground. "You do know, that now that I'm Beta, you woo'n my sister will be all about kissing my butt." She says with a grin, ears lifting upwards. "Maka and I are very close, we're best friends, and I love her dearly, but I will not have her heart being broken, especially by a young stud like yourself, who's on the fast track to being the Alpha. You hear me?" She says, her voice growing edgy now.
Abel really dislikes how quickly Wyanet changed the feel of the conversation and how quickly she turned it around /against/ him. He stands up straight, trying to be serious now, only picking up on the airs of Wyanet. "I mean... I wasn't flirting... I was just talking with you!" He even turns slightly defensive, but his stuttered words are a bit counter-productive. "I wouldn't do anything to hurt anybody. Why do you assume that I would?" The younger wolf doesn't try to sound snide or rude, but with his tone of voice, it's hard to avoid it. He shuts up, hoping he didn't say anything he'd regret.
Watching him for a moment, Wyanet practically stares holes into him, before cracking another grin upon her face. "Too easy." She says, giving him a whap across the shoulder with her paw. "You amuse the heck out of me, Abel. But, when you get older, you'll learn how to deal with females soon enough I'm sure, especially those of us who are rough around the edges." With a chuckle, she settles back upon her haunches, winking. "I was teasing you, mister. I know you wouldn't hurt my sister, which is why I'm hoping that you will pursue her. I trust that Skelaghe has raised a noble, and honorable wolf out of you."
It is with only a remainder of ire that Abel snorts, still not pleased with how far Wyanet went with teasing in that instance. Letting the seconds that pass help cool him off, the stressed adolescent shakes out his fur and sits down again. "Rough around the edges and then some." He mutters, unable to help cracking a liiiitle smirk. He basically openly admitted that he will pursue Maka, but of course that was put to the side with Wya's sudden outburst and near-scolding. He sure is glad all females aren't quiet like her; one is enough.
There always has to be one in the pack, and Wyanet is more than happy to fit the bill. Wrapping a paw around his shoulder, she pulls him close and gives him a lick between the ears. "You love me." She says with a chuckle, rumbling softly in her throat. "So, Abel, enough with teasing you about my sister, how are you doing these days? Anything been on your mind? Nothing troubling you?" She asks as her tail whisks side to side.
With a sigh, Abel relaxes. There's no way he could ever hold a grudge against anyone, regardless of how frequent they tease him. Wyanet certainly isn't an exception, he does like her; she does look out for him. He still is at a loss for words, maybe a bit steamed still. Wyanet did get under Abel's skin with the way she threatened him regarding Maka. Shrugging, he leans back and scratches at his neck again. She should already know at this point that her sister is on his mind. So that implied, nothing is really on his mind or troubling him.
It seems that Wyanet is like an itch. Once she is under your skin, she's hard to get out. Scratch harder! Leaning forward, she bumps her muzzle against his ear, softly rumbling in her throat. "Oh c'mon now, you were perky a little bit ago, I told you I was teasing." She says, sensing his dour mood. Tail wagging back and forth behind her, she straightens up. "I should get going on a round or two about the territory. Care to join me? I was thinking we could discuss how to make the borders more secure." A change in subject, something other than girls?
It's more than just Wyanet that causes Abel's odd little change of mood. "Mm, yeah." He nods, standing up again. There's just a lot on Abel's little mind right now, he isn't just being negative for the sake of being negative. "I'd love to come." Abel quickly picks up on the discussion change, and is almost embarassed on how he acted in retrospect. Clearly, Wya is the better teaser; she also made a very clear point across. He follows along side her, still keeping himself silence and in thought.
