Having spent most of the night frustrated after last night's ordeal, Wyanet finally rouses herself awake, and makes her way out of the den to greet the morning. Digging her claws into the ground, she gives herself a long stretch of her body, working the joints in her paws, and shoulders, before trotting out into the territory in search of Kezu. The look on her face is neutral, if not all together stoic. Moving through the thick grass, and brush, she calls out for the large black male, trying to gain his attention.
Maka is nearby, her head settled on her paws as the young wolf half-slumbers in a curled up state. However, movement causes her ear to twitch, following the source of the sound. Her forepaws stretch a little, tail swishing as she slowly shifts into a languid stretch, drawing her head up in a back-arching, tongue-curling yawn.
The Morning finds the large male simply laying underneath a tree near the creek, ears lowered and altogether looking as if he were asleep. With the call of Wyanet however, his eyes open up, looking over the grass and peering through the dew of the morning, scraping his claws through the dirt as he stands, shaking himself off. He looks tired. Oh so tired. With a lash of his tail, he lumbers towards Wyanet, his brows furrowed as beyond his movement, he says nothing.
Ah. So there he is. Wyanet settles herself down upon her haunches, then points in front of her. "Sit." She says adamantly as she rolls her tongue across her muzzle. She gives her shoulders a bit of a flex, before looking about the area, snuffling the air. She can sense Maka near by, but that is alright with her. She assumes that once the conversation starts, her sister won't try to interrupt. "What was going through your head last night?" She says, her voice says with a bit of an edge to it. "You sounded deranged. It was out of character for you, and it was scary."
Ever so slowly, Maka pushes herself up into a sitting position, licking at her muzzle as she leans over and gives her neckscruff a good morning scratch. Afterwards, a good shake lends her fur it's normal semblance of good grooming. The girl's amber eyes blink as she rises, shaking stretching her back legs out behind her as she arches her back skyward to greet the morning. Shaking her legs out a little, the young wolf finally seems to wake to her surroundings, casting her eyes towards the voice of her sister. Her head tilts, but for the time being, she doesn't interrupt.
At the adamant order, Kezu raises his brows, simply obeying and sitting. At her question however... the wolf looks to the side, his eyes narrowing as if in thought. "... In total honesty..." He begins, taking a deep breath as he flexes his claws into the earth. "... I'm not sure where my mind was... or is..." And he looks to Wyanet fully, his gaze intense, fur rustling in the wind. "... I know things are different here... But I can't shake the feeling of my past, like it's following me, trying to ensure that I am unhappy. I... Just don't know." He whispers at that, his focus finally dropping to the ground.
"Well, you better work it out, or else I'll put my paw so far up your ass you'll be choking on my toenails." Wyanet says with a sharp snap in her voice, obviously frustrated as her ears lay back. "You have your brother completely upset. Last night, you looked like you were about to attack him. You need to leave your drama behind you. Whatever hang ups you are going through, you let it go, because the pack comes -first-. I don't know what you went through up North, and frankly, my Give a Damn is busted. I come from a completely different pack as well, where I had a fast track to be the Alpha female. I have to learn to change as well. You have it good here in the Ute, Kezu. You can't get yourself so worked up, that it drives you nuts. If you have something to say, then just say it. Don't dwell on it, until you start spouting off nonsense." She says with a loud snort. "I'm your friend, and Haht' is your brother, and I know Skelaghe would be willing to listen to you, and maybe help you out. This pack is full of history, very spiritual, and it's even calming me down. Use it to your advantage. Allow the Ute to heal the scars in your heart, and begin a new life." She pauses. "And I think you should begin that new life by apologizing to Skelaghe, and trying to get to know her as a wolf, and not as an Alpha. You'll come to respect her quite quickly if you give her a chance."
To say that Maka looks up to her sister in some ways, would be a bit of an understatement. If not, she'd have never followed the older wolf so far away from her birthpack. Moments like this, however, lead Maka to understand just how much more she has to learn about packs and ranks and dealing with the various personality conflicts that take place when wolves get together. Ever so quietly, although not quite stealthily, the young wolf approaches the other two, keeping a little at a distance as to not be too much of a bother as she listens in. Eventually, though, she just settles to her haunches a wolf's length behind her sister, looking like a younger, slightly darker echo of the pack Beta.
A quiver, Kezu looking at Wyanet with a huff, rolling his shoulders. "Apologize to her? All I said was that she is not Alpha in my eyes, that she is better than that, that she is a Leader and a Friend, that she's someone I care for and wish to work with." His eyes open at that, as he sighs. "I don't see how I could have given insult through that, but then she comes and tells me not to say she is not Alpha in my eyes, because it's wrong, insulting, that... I didn't even fully understand what all she said. If she wants to be called Alpha, fine... if you want to be called, Beta, fine... I just..." He stretches his legs then. "... I need to figure out HOW to 'leave it behind'. How do I shake the feeling of it following me? Do I need to reinvent myself... but then will I still be Kezu?" His eyes close at that... taking a deep breath.
To Maka, the wolf known as Kezu would be a giant of a wolf, towering over smaller wolves, and a bit larger than normal, fit wolves. More than tall, though he is tall, he's dense. Muscled. And... well, fat. Though he would call himself fluffy. His right eye, pupiless and injured, looks to Maka at that, an ear lowering as he peers at her. "..." A slight smile, as he looks to Wyanet. "... Reinvent myself." He says with a chuckle, as if the younger, darker version of Wyanet had clicked something in his head.
"Yes, apologize to her. It's not what you said, but how you said it. That whole thing about the world not revolving around her." Wyanet says with a tick tock of her tail. "I was in the wrong that day. I shouldn't have gone behind her back in regards to Vincent. Maybe in my old pack, I would have just killed him without any regard for her feelings. But that's because I didn't care much about them, at least, not in the end. It's different here though.. the more I thought about it, the more I realized that all I was doing, was reminding her of her pain. Killing him would only devalue myself in her eyes." She sniffs the air, before giving herself a shake of her fur. "I don't care if you call me Beta, or Wyanet, or Dumb Bitch, it's all the same to me, but I'm not Skelaghe." At the next topic, she goes on, "I don't know if you need to so much as reinvent yourself, but just open your heart to the ways of Ute, and let them guide you.. if you belong here, you'll know, if not, then I suppose you will forge a new path." With that, she turns her attention towards her sister, and the first smile finally appears across her muzzle.
While it may seem unusual for a younger wolf to sit so still, listening to such matters, Maka seems to pay keen attention, looking between the large male and her sister. Finally, her eyes seem to settle on Kezu, head tilting ever so slightly when his eyes meet hers. Rather than intimidated, like some might be, she simply seems curious, perhaps at the dischord between his massive appearance and his more thoughtful words. Then, with a bit of a shy gesture, she ducks her ears just a tad and looks away towards Wyanet. Her voice comes softly, as if not sure if she should interject or not. "I talked with Skelaghe just a little while ago. She said she didn't wish him dead because she believed that the spirits would make him answer for his crimes in time." Seeming a little confused at the prospect, her black tail-tip twitches once. "And that she wanted no more sins on her paws to have to answer for." That much being said, the girl manages only a small smile towards her sister before she grooms at her own shoulder distractedly.
That? Kezu raises his head at that, tilting his head to Wyanet. "I could have swore I had already apologized for that... If not, I guess I'll just have to do it again, to make sure." His frame gives a roll, as if he were airing out his pelt... before huffing, lidding his eyes as his muscles tense. "Open my heart to Ute... Whatever that means. If there is a Being or Presence of Ute, I have not felt it, and it seems to have abandoned me. No teaching of this History, no words to soothe me, no powers or presence to make me feel calm, only strife, only blame, Oh Kezu, you have done something wrong, Oh Kezu, you're just being stupid, Oh Kezu, you're just being an idiot, when I am simply sitting there, unknowing of what is wrong about my words or my actions. Even my brother seems to get it, yet I do not. I'll just have to make my own Ute, if noone wishes to show me." He lowers one ear, looking back to Wyanet's sister with a grin. "... Spirits, huh? You believe in them? The Spirits can bite me, they've never done anything for me and my own." And he looks to the sky at that. "... Time to begin."
"There is no your, or my Ute. There is only Ute. It's not that difficult to just breathe it in, Kezu. If you want to know about this place, then speak with Skelaghe, and learn the history of her lands. It's a wonderful story, and it may help you appreciate what it is they stand for." Wyanet turns to Maka, then lets out a frustrated breath, before starting off through the grass. "Gonna go for a walk. Maka, if you want to join me, you're more than welcome to." She says with a loud yawn, smacking her jaws. "I have a headache now."
With a shrug of her shoulders, Maka seems to show indifference towards Kezu's feelings about 'spirits'. "What I believe doesn't really matter that much. It's what Skelaghe believes that matters." The girl may seem softspoken, but sometimes she does say things that make her seem wise beyond her seasons. Looking towards Wyanet, the girl bobs her head just once, nodding her agreement. As she rises to her feet, following just behind her sister, the younger wolf murmurs, "I know where there's a tree bark you can chew that should help with that..."
And the sisters depart, leaving Kezu to contemplate under the tree... looking up along the hillside... peering towards the den. There's the source of his problems, and there he'll find the solution. Slowly... he begins to trot torwards the Den.
