Fallen Log
Tariro - Male Wolf (Viridian)
Lexus - Male Wolf (Viridian)
--------------------
The north, why exactly did he head there and why did he go there alone. He was searching for something, or rather someone; turning up empty pawed. Weeks since he last saw his uncle, Tariro began to wonder if Haze had forgotten, or perhaps... Not excepting the second as a possible answer, the white wolf returned home, he would search again later. Following the river most the way, Tari breaks off when the fallen log comes into view; scanning the area for those of his pack.
Lexus is there, lying just next to the log so he's half hidden by it. Not sitting out in the open might be wise since though his head's raised his eyes are closed and he just seems to be listening to the woods. An ear has twitched Tariro's way as he arrived so it's a safe bet that he knows the other wolf is there anyway. He sniffs the air, mentally going through his list of known scents before he speaks up "Hello Tariro"
Its not like Tariro thought there would be some unknown wolf lingering around the location of his family, but coming to a abrupt stop just seemed right when he picks up the scent of another. Ears twitching, he waits for only a moment before a familiar voice calls his name in welcome. Knowing it to be his uncle, Tari turns to Lexus's direction. "Afternoon uncle." He speaks moving up to the log where he lays. Upon reaching the log, he takes another look around while wondering, "You the only one awake?"
Lexus finally opens his eyes and looks to Tariro as the wolf comes over "Not sure, there might be some by the river but all quiet here" wolf wise anyway, there's definitely enough noise coming from the rest of the woods "Been patrolling the area or some such Alpha kind of...thing?" the sentence kind of falls apart towards the end when he can't think of the right words.
Tariro sighs quietly to himself when hearing they were the only ones, slowly looking to the river before settling to his haunches. Looking to his uncle he says, "Yea, something like that." His gaze settling on the wolf as he goes quiet for a brief moment. "I was hopping to find Haze while out there, but no luck."
Lexus stretches his paws out before sitting up and glancing round the trees before he looks back to Tariro again. His head tilts faintly "Well sadly I don't think I've seen Haze since I was a pup, none of us will been the same wolf as we were then...The others will be around here somewhere, don't worry."
Tariro nod slowly, he didn't think his uncles would of seen each other; as he said its been since they were pups. Maybe that should change, maybe it should; that thought to be decided when the other is found. "I'm not worried, just concerned." Motion to itch his right side, he drops down to his opposite side. "You know anything about the Lazuli?" If there going to eventually meet, he wants to be prepared.
Lexus frowns thoughtfully, trying to remember anything. If only he'd spent more time listening and less time messing about back then. He shakes his head after a minute "Not much. Really just the name and all those old stories you hear about it being an inferior, bad pack or something. I don't know, Haze left for there when I was very young and I'm afraid even then I spent more time running the land than I did learning. Heh, would have to come back to bite me in the tail. Your mother is probably more helpful."
Tariro had hoped for something but would accept nothing if that is all there was to give. Waitinf for his uncles answer, he looks out toward the clearing in the distance, turning back when he hears Lexus. "You are just as unknown as I am then." he sighs at the mention of his mother. Going to his mother would prove to be more informal but... gah, why was he avoiding her. "Maybe. I'll try to see her later." Though his uncle didn't know much he says, "Thank you too." anyways in appreciation.
Lexus watches him very closely "...You don't have to but one day it's going to be too late to talk. Regret is hard to shake" a second later and he smiles apologetically, dropping the subject of Cotton as if it was nothing at all and going back to business "Well, it beats going into the unknown alone and Haze is still family no matter what. If only the two packs could actually meet it'd be a lot more reassuring than the mystery pack we know by name alone"
What does he mean by that he wonders 'too late'. He ponders this for a moment before nodding. Regret was hard to shake and Tariro knew this, but what he needed to do wasn't necessarily re-leaving regret but facing the truth. Letting the subject pass much like his uncle did the wolf nods once more. "Yes he is, and he's one worth getting to know." This he says in suggestion. "We'll meet them in time I'm sure.. which is one of the reasons why I was hopping to run into Haze while I was patrolling. I don't want to have us walking into something blind."
Lexus squints a little, thinking again before he smirks faintly "He's my brother and you've probably spoken to him more than me. Weird but I'm rather looking forwards to meeting him too. There's no need to rush either way but I imagine he must be with his pack too."
Tariro chuckles slightly to himself for no reason. "Yea, I suppose so." If Haze wasn't with his pack right now, where was he. Guess it doesn't really matter, least not this very moment anyway. "What would you say to him.. after all this time." If it were him and Shag he'd likely just sit there in awe.
Lexus hmms thoughtfully "I guess start with hello and go from there. Heh, guess been meeting a lot of family lately" he never did do awe very well "I don't know, I guess it's different to the brothers I already know, not that they're around" there is a tiny hint of sadness at the last part but he quickly sweeps it away again "He's practically a stranger and I suppose I have an excuse for never talking to him but it's not like meeting the pups or something, there's been so much happen over the years" the more he talks, the more he thinks and starts to frown a bit.
Heh, why didn't he think of that.. well probably because 'hello' was the obvious response. "We'll I'm sure you'll come up with something." Tariro tells his uncle. "You are brothers after all and personally I don't think any amount of time apart changes that." Shrugging afterward picking up on the frowns, he doesn't say anything more on it. Whatever happens will happen. "In a way I guess, we're all in the same predicament. We've got an entire pack to meet."
Lexus' reaction is a little delayed as with a blink and a quick shake of the head he first has to dismiss his thoughts again. He mmms, nodding slowly "Haze is the smallest bit of this. Well, can only hope everyone gets on" he smirks "Or that there's a few females there that enjoy a good hunt"
"It'll be a little rocky a first I'm sure. Joining up with a unfamiliar pack.. If they weren't on edge I'd be worried." Tariro has taken a lot of thought into this and just hopes he's ready. Chuckling to the next part of what his uncle says, "Females and a good hunt.." he gives a highly amused look. "I'm sure there will be."
Lexus grins at Tariro, he's just being silly himself "Well it's alright with you and your mate and of course there's Shag and...the bouncy one, Alaq-er...It'll come to me. Some of us are a bit behind in the game though...Hmm, then perhaps it would help if I started memorizing their names. I usually am better than this"
Tariro chuckles at Lexus's attempt to say Shag's mates name. "Alaqua." He squeezes in. "I wouldn't worry about it. Memorizing their names is a good start though." He wasn't to good with names either, which is why is recognized others through appearance.
Lexus smirks and turns his eyes up to the clouds "Well I guess in my defence there's been a lot of new names lately. Alaqua, Alaqua, must remember that. Going to be a lot more names to remember soon enough"
Tariro nods, "Don't go trying to remember them all at once now.." He smirks. "It'll make your head hurt and you'll wind up not remembering the easy ones." That goes for himself too. Bouncing his tail now, he lets out a breath, "We should stick to those here and worry about the others when they get here."
Lexus chuckles "I'll try not to learn them all at once. I think I know everyone here though or at least Rockfall pointed out the rest of the youngest generation and there's not too much of the rest"
So his son was giving out introductions.. well that certainly saves him some time. "Quite the informative one, that little guy is." Tariro chuckles. "He certainly doesn't get it from me, must be his mother." Speaking of her, were was Aika he wondered. Looking toward the river he hmms; perhaps she was with Gitchi, would explain why she hasn't see much of their daughter.
Lexus chuckles once more and nods "I'll give you that, he seems to speak beyond his years so to speak. I don't think I've actually met his mother yet so that part I'll have to take your word on"
Tariro nods looking back to his uncle. "I don't think many have. I'm going to have to talk to her about that." Her absence is of concern but he's not to worked up about handling things himself either; its not much of a change for him. "Than again, I suppose when she's ready she'll show herself." He shrugs.
Lexus shakes his head "Oh I don't blame her, if I tried I'm sure I could hunt everyone down. Old habits from a lot of time alone I suppose or I wouldn't have been sat here on my own in the first place"
Tariro nods, "Oh, I don't blame her either, just wish she was a tad more sociable. But I suppose your right. I was much the same way when I was younger." No so much a no body anymore, of course. "All in good time I guess. As yu said why rush it."
Lexus chuckles faintly as he finally raises to his paws "Meet her with all the rest of them. I hope you find Haze anyway, right now I think I'm going to go for a run, can't get out of practice just because the scenery has changed"
Tariro smiles with a nod. "So do I, and better sooner than later." The sooner he finds Haze, the sooner he can focus on other things. "I'll let you go then." He says with a light chuckle. "You know where to find me should something come up and take care." With that he places his head down upon the ground, rolling over onto a side watching his uncle till he treks off.
"Likewise!" Lexus calls back as he hops up onto the log and bounds off the other side to charge off into the trees. Well he always did love to run and it's only fun if you're going as fast as you can.
