Fallen Log
Alaqua - Female Wolf
Cyrus - Male Wolf
Motega - Male Adol. Wolf
Shag - Male Wolf
-------
As she leads the pair through the territory, Alaqua is back to humming lightly under her throat, pleased as punch to have discovered her future pack mates. "Hello! Tariro!? Shaggy?!" She calls out easily into the territory as she goes, letting out a soft huff. "They were here earlier, I wonder where they could have headed off." She calls over her shoulder to both Cyrus, and Motega as she goes, then settles herself upon her haunches, giving herself another hard scratch behind the ear with her back leg.
The male chuckles softly as Alaqua continues to speak. This Shag told her she was to meet him? Him or his son? A brow arches and the male hrrs softly as he keeps pace with the two younger wolves. Ears swivel as he takes in the area and blue eyes fall on familiar land marks. He slows once the three emerge into an area with a lot of sleepy bodies and the thick heavy smell of wolves. He eyes Alaqua and grins, "'m sure they're just tending to whatever business is needed.." he drawls. The Lazuli beta stretches his back leg as Alaqua sits and his blue eyes begin to attempt to pick out familiar sleeping forms if possible, ears pricked forwards.
Arriving in the new area is significantly less exciting to Motega, but the youngster keeps his manners, and grins when looked at or spoken.. over. Not really over, but he'd had so little to add into the conversation due to his own shyness. Watching the trees as they passed them, Motega glanced back at his father, who he'd been walking in front of along the way, and blinked. Slowing his pace because it seemed they'd come to the place that they were supposed to be in, the red-hued wolf trotted back over to his father's side, again respecting his space, and grinned over at Alaqua. The scent in the air was calming at least, having not been in the company of this many wolves in .. ever. "I like it here.." He muttered to himself, and sits down as well.
"I'm always where I'm needed," Shag says, and there, behold! The starry-backed male is standing on a little rise, probably chosen for dramatic effect. "Welcome to our..." He trails off, looking into the distance. Home? Abode? Temporary resting spot? What? "Our territory." Yes, territories could change on a whim. That was a good way to put where they now lived. They'd be moving soon, anyway. "Welcome, to the both of you. Alaqua... thank you for bringing them." Just like he said she would. Ha ha ha. Dance, puppets. Shag seems to glide down from his perch. "I'm glad you made it safely."
The male smiles as his son draws closer to his side, but always leaving that small patch of space. He's busy scanning the sleeping forms for familiar faces when a males voice snags his attention.
Cyrus blinks, blue eyes sliding to the unknown wolf and his waits patiently for him approach. The ashen male shifts his weight and dips his nose a few degrees in a nod of greeting. A brow arches just a tick in curiousness before he inclines his head a few degrees to the left, "My name is Cyrus, beta of the Lazuli.." he eyes the huddled mass, "Or was." He wasn't sure just yet, what with this whole merging thing, "And this is my son, Motega. I've been gone for many months.. Luck was with me I found my way home again however. You must be.." he eyes Alaqua for a moment before returning his attention to the male, "Shag?"
From his seat next to his father, Motega watches the dark wolf upon the incline, and blinks curiously at his words. The poor boy was utterly confused for a moment there; were they staying here now? What about Haze, and the other alpha that he'd met? Would they be here or.. what was going on? The bout of confusion he had was a bit overdone, but eventually he let out a sigh and nodded to the wolf on the hill regardless when his name was spoken, offering only a quiet, meek, "Hello.."
"Shag," Shag answers in a husky whisper. "That is my name. Welcome, Cyrus, Motega." He nods to the two of them. He doesn't even look much older than Motega, but he seems to hold himself with a sort of quiet, presumptuous confidence. Like he already knows what he's going to do through the whole conversation, the whole day. He stands very still, staring unblinking. "This is the lands of the Viridian pack... soon to be... something else." He tilts his head. "We aren't going to stay here."
Cyrus nods his head idly, an ear twitching. "Interesting," is all that rumbles deeply from the ashen male. He wanders off in thought for the moment before eying the sleeping forms once more. "When this Tariro returns, I'd like to speak with him. Lazuli is my home.. my blood. I'd like to meet this wolf that's meant to combine the two packs.. as well as find the Lazuli alpha and speak with him." Haze is who he means. Whether he calls him alpha, brother, brother-n-law, or my sister's mate, the male was family. He glances over to his son and gives him a soft smile, that shyness he gets from his mother that's for sure.
The reflex the young wolf had to his name, his head snapping up the way it did, was almost odd in it's mannerism. Everyone looked when their name was called, but his relex was practically militant. Come to find out that Shag was simply continuing on with his greeting, and letting them know that they weren't going to stay here, he lets his head nod, and grins a bit. Good! The confusion was ended. Listening to what his father brought up, the name Tariro sounded familiar, but it took him a moment, concernedly, to place the name to the white wolf that Haze had met with. Perhaps he should've paid more attention during the merge? Or, perhaps he hadn't not been paying attention, and his memory recall was just.. off. Either way, he remains silent, but listens intently.
"Home," Shag repeats in that same strange, wispy tone. "Home can be many places. Where the heart lies... so there your home will be." He glances over at Motega and stares at him intently, but for no reason that's immediately apparent. "If the heart wanders, home can be anywhere. A life is like a river, I like to say. Flowing and merging and leaving again as it meets other creatures, new places. I can see this pack in a place of white emptiness... filled only with themselves and the size of their hearts." He takes two steps left. "Tariro is around here somewhere," he explains in a suddenly much more normal voice. "Take what I say with a grain of salt, I haven't been around talk of the merge much. I just know it must happen. Soon. Winter is coming. It will be interesting, becoming family in such a short amount of time." He smiles abruptly, widely. "I look forward to it."
Cyrus listens intently, features stoic but ears twitching every so often. This wolf was strange.. in a refreshing way... but still strange. Cyrus clears his throat faintly and nods, "Indeed, it will be interesting to say the least." He smiles gently and dips his maw to the other, "I too look forward to anything that will better the lives of our packs, our familys." The male shifts his weight as he glances over to his son and eyes him a second, thoughtfully, before looking back at Shag, "You.. have not seen a wolfdog recently have you? Female.. blind.. her name is Eclipse."
"Our... family," Shag clarifies with another smile, leaving out the plural part. They were going to be one, soon. Burn twice as bright, their star would. "And I'm sorry, no. I don't know who Eclipse is. Why do you seek her? I could... take a look around." Who knows what he means exactly by that, but it doesn't sound like the normal kind of searching. "Is she important to you?"
Cyrus smiles with the word and nods his head. The merging, no matter how nervous it may make Cyrus, seemed like it would be for the better. The idea was growing on him. When Shag questions him about Eclipse the male's stoic features faulter just a fraction and he nods, "Very important. She's my mate, my love.." His blue eyes seem pained for a moment before he glances over towards the silent Motega and then back to Shag.
Shag tilts his head curiously, eyes squinting at the male. "Then there's little time to waste," he says. He knows a little about love... he's in it too, after all! "We will do what we can once the pack is settled in. I promise you." He settles back onto his haunches. If only his apparent connections to the ether let him do useful things like find other wolves. Then again, that's probably what his nose is for. "Did you lose her on the way here, or has she been gone for some time?"
Cyrus smiles thankfully as he gets more comfortable on his haunches. "Thankyou Shag.." he rumbles sincerely. At the question the male sighs, "She has apparently been gone for some time. When our alpha Haze left to find family many months ago I went searching for him when he didn't return when expected. I had an accident and it's kept me from getting home at a fast pace. When I left she was with our new pups.. now all I have is Motega. He says she disappeared shortly after I."
"Fate guides us where it will. Closer or farther away... what does that matter when we know we are sleeping under the same sky, and our hearts hold one another's?" Shag murmurs quietly, looking down to the ground. "Cyrus. Nothing is certain, even for me. But we won't abandon anyone in this pack. No matter how new or absent they are." As far as he's concerned, they are all one already. It's a done deal. It must be.
Cyrus nods his head gently, lost for words. As long as he finds his love.. or at least knows what happened to her. He falls quiet, suddenly lost deep in his own thoughts. Blue eyes shift to Shag for a moment before they flit to his son and Cyrus lets out a soft sigh.
"I know she knows you're looking for her," Shag says quietly as he leans forward, watching intently, trying to reassure the other wolf. "And I know that warms her heart." It would warm his own, after all.
