Patrol was fine, fine until the thick scent of blood caught the alpha's attention and drew her to the scene of blood and maham. Storm is slowly makes her way back towards where the pack is, blood and dirt stains the alpha's form as she burried her dear friend where he layed. She was gone all day, there by Rook's side telling him how sorry she was for not being there to protect him as she promised so long ago. Rook was one of the first wolves to join her pack and finding him like this makes her feel like she's lost part of herself. The scents of strange wolves were all over the area and she made a point to remark the land on her way home which has left her coming back when evening settling over the forest. Her gaze drifts over the area before she wiggles through the thick brush and gives herself a shake while moving towards the den wanting nothing more then to hide and snuggle with her children. Her mother warned them and she didn't even get a chance to tell Rook to becareful.. Why Rook? What did he do to deserve this?
Halidari can be found at the dens entrance laying there flat on her stomich; staring out at nothing direct. Perhaps a few crawling but is what she looks at or maybe its the return of her mother; whatever it is, her sight it fixed and does not move. Ears pinned back, a sign of worred in the pup, she whines. Bringing her ears up and going quiet only to the sound and presence of Storm does Hali show signs of life, happiness. Letting out a soft bark, she makes it to all four before bursting forward. "Mama mama!" she cries out, always glad to see one of her parents return from where ever it is they go.
Ziven opens his eyes, simply because of Halidari. "He raises his head, and looks for the source of the noise. He had heard what she had said, and decided to wait to simply see who she was running towards. He sees Storm, and notices her distress. "What's the matter?" he asks.
Storm takes in a breath, trying to smile for her daughter but she just can't. The alpha lowers herself to the ground and wraps a forepaw around Hal pulling her closer. "Hello sweety." She offers with a whisper of a tone while her eyes close and ears lower. She hears Ziven's question but just can't answer at the moment, needing a few moments to collect her thoughts it seems. "Have you seen your father today Halidari?" She needs Felstride.
The look upon her mothers face isn't what she expected; she was hoping for a smile and life filled eyes; there was none of that. That instant she knew that something had happened, something sad. Being pulled in and spoken to, Halidari musters up a smile. Nuzzling the fore leg of Stor first then looking up, she shakes her head. "No mama." she replies looking back towards the den for a moment then back to her mother. "You look sad mama, something wrong?" maybe she'll get the answer Ziven was hoping for. Having heard the older pup, Hali gave little attention to him except for a brief look.
Ziven lifts himself up into a sitting position. "Well, what happend?" he asks again. He hoped it was nothing too bad, at least, but if it was something he could help fix, he would. He paid even less attentoin to Hali than the younger had shone him, because he didn't even seem to notice the young pup.
Storm closes her eyes while hugging Hal to her, unsure of what to say. "Rook isn't going to be coming home dear." Her children don't know what death is, she was hoping to keep it from them a little longer but it doesn't seem that way. "He went to walk with the other forest spirit's."
Ziven hears this, and lays down, simply to contemplate this. He couldn't really mourn, he didn't know which one was Rook, so he was going to at least try to look like he was mourning.
Halidari isn't to familiar with the name 'Rook' but thats her fault for not being social. Giving her mother a mournful look , she hisitates on asking another question but faulters. Is it right for her to ask any more questions. She wanted to ask 'what happened' but could her mother bare it. For now she remains quiet looking out into the forest; maybe she'll see him, maybe she wont.
Storm takes in a faint breath and closes her eyes. It'll be alright, it has to be alright, and she has to br strong but at the moment she's finding it very hard to do that. Her head lowers to the ground and her eyes close. "It'll be alright." The alpha murmurs faintly, though its mostly for herself to Hal as the pup didn't know Rook like she did.
Halidari frowns as she watches her mother. "It be okay." she mutters. "You see him again... like," she tries to remember. "Like, Grandma." Out of blue like that may not of been the right choice, but what does she know about timing. Nudging her mother, before laying her head down on one of her paws. "That possible?"
Storm isn't sure if she wants to see Rook like that, but it would be better then the images in her head of finding his torn and mangled body. Tears rolls down the alpha's cheeks as she does her best not to cry but can't help it. "I hope I get to see him again.. Maybe, anything is possible."
Halidari smiles faintly, but those tears are enough to create a gasp of sorrow within her throat. "Don't cry mamma. You see him again, I know it." She doesn't want to see her mother like this; its sad and no fun.
Storm takes in a breath. "I know sweety." She offers softly to the girl while doing her best to keep herself sane at the moment but its slowly slipping. The images are still in her mind and she isn't sure how to make them stop at the moment.
Halidari is at a hard belief that her mother knows, but doesn't push the matter. Things will work out one day and she knows that. Standing up, she moves to her mothers side, then lays down moving into a curl. "It'll be alright. You'll see." are her last words for the night as she closes her eyes ready to sleep.
Storm cuddles up with her daughter, wanting to sleep herself but can't. Not with new wolves out and about going around killing things. No telling what might happen next. "Sleep well sweety." She murmurs to her daughter.
