Silvan sighs softly as he makes it back to the pack's gathering place from his patroll, checking on his mate before settling down close to her. He's been by her side as much as he can since she came back injured. He yawns a bit and takes a look around at the others sleeping nearby, not having gotten much sleep himself lately.
Larkspur stirs from the sounds of the alpha, opening her eyes slowly. The girl knows it's not nearly time to wake up yet, and yet now that she has opened her eyes she feels no trace of sleep weighing on her. Tail absently sweeping in the dirt, she decides to rise. Shakeshaking her fur, she avoids treading on the Viridian members and weaves towards the alpha. As she nears, she glances at Silvan before quickly dropping her gaze. It seems she has something to say, but isn't sure where to begin. Several times her muzzle lies agape, waiting for words to come. Her attempts at speaking are unsuccessful, so she resigns herself to sit in the dirt with her eyes downward and ears flat.
Silvan looks over and nods to the girl when she heads over toward him, cocking his head a bit when she seems to want to say somthing, "Is somthing wrong?"
The words of the male seem to break the spell. Lark's head snaps up and she blurts, "Er, yes." After a split second of hesitation, she continues, "Um, I really appreciate you lettin' me stay with you. But I miss my Mama and Daddy real bad. You guys-" Her eyes dart to the sleeping form of Haze's mother, "- have been real nice to me, but I still wish I could see my parents." The girl's demeanor turns sheepish and she can't look at Silvan. She's much too busy worrying if she has offended the alpha.
Silvan smiles and nods, leaning down to nuzzle Lark softly, "I though you might be getting homesick soon. and I know your parents are worried about you. My Second will be taking you home soon, his name is Grit, though I'm not sure if you've met him yet."
Larkspur's tail thumps on the ground as she is nuzzled, a small smile stealing across her muzzle. She doesn't reply right away as she tries to remember if she's met Grit. Whatever a Second is, anyway. Haze tried to explain it to her once, but she can't remember it very well. After a moment she shakes her head. "I haven't met him, I don't think." A heartbeat passes before she asks timidly, "Is he nice?" The girl certainly hopes so. She'd hate to travel forever and ever with someone mean. Now that she's given it some thought, she decides she would like it best if someone like Maul would guide her back to Lazuli. A pang of loss grips her for a second at the thought of her friend.
Silvan chuckles softly, thinking of Grit as anything other than a hardass just doesnt fit, but he's always been good with the pups, maybe because there's a chance they might be his, "He likes pups, and I havent seen him ever be mean when there wasnt a good reason."
Larkspur nods slowly, though she fidgets a little. She has a nagging feeling that she might provoke the Second's anger, albeit unintentionally. The thought strikes her to ask about Maul, but she seriously doubts that Silvan will know anymore than her. As memory serves, the cougar melted into the shadows as soon as Lark was reunited with Haze. For all she knows, the puma could be miles away by now. "When will Grit take me home?" This is the question she's been dreading to ask. Though she misses her parents terribly, the girl is reluctant to leave Haze. Who knows when they'll see each other again? Unbidden, her imagination conjures Felstride's face: "You left to see /him/ /again/?" The image dissolves as she pictures the vicious lecturing she'll recieve for sneaking out and disobeying the alphas. A small spark of optimism hopes that her parents will be too excited to see her again to punish her /too/ badly. She hopes.
Silvan yawns and stretches out a bit before shrugging, "He was looking for you yesterday, so probably when he gets back."
Larkspur nods absently, a yawn creeping from her muzzle. She glances over her shoulder at the sleeping form of Haze, and she considers creeping back over there and returning to sleep. Turning back to face Silvan she says,"When will he be baaack?" Her inquiry is distorted by another yawn.
Cottonpaws is back! She heard that the fiend was not far... What she doesn't know is that her father is with her. This will be funny, she knows it. Coming from the valley, Cotton is furious... Sure she talked with Snow, but that doesn't mean she's changed her mind about Haze and Lark being together. She spots the fiend, and makes her way towards her.
Silvan shrugs a bit to Lark, saying, "I don't know, probably before dawn, and he'll need to rest before you leave." before looking over to the sounds of someone coming, eventualy recognizing Cotton, "Hello Cotton."
Larkspur nods and is about to announce that she'll be going back to sleep, when Cottonpaws arrives. The Lazuli girl stiffens immediately and regards Haze's sister a little warily. "Hi, Cotton," she says slightly nervously. This she-wolf can tell that the Viridian child doesn't care for her and isn't sure how to deal with that. Ignore it? Fight back? /Will/ Cotton try to fight her? A thousand possibilities race through her mind.
Cottonpaws lets a low growl escape her muzzle, glaring at the other female, "Aren't you supposed to be home, with YOUR family?" She is... Not nice, she doesn't sound like she's happy, "Dad, what is she doing here?" She doesn't turn to her father, her glaring eyes remain fixed on the fiend.
Silvan sighs as Cotton starts to growl, wondering why everyone cant just behave themselves, he's tired. after shaking his head a bit he says, "She's done nothing to you, now behave.... Grit's taking her home soon anyway."
Larkspur's ears flatten at Cotton's assault. "I-I-I-" she stammers, saved from answering by Silvan. However, as she stares into the eyes of Haze's sister, she feels herself returning the look with equal intensity. She fights to control herself from growling. The alpha is right, she's done nothing to Cottonpaws. If she wants to make a big deal out of this, fine, the Lazuli girl will return the favour. She's not going to take this lying down anymore, oh no.
Cottonpaws looks at her father... If se was glaring, she is still glaring. >.> She's not mad at her father, she CAN'T be mad at him, but with that fiend around, it's like there's some kind of posion in the air, "She can walk, right?" The girl fixes her gaze back upon the other female, "You can walk, right? Stand up, and walk away..." Oooh, angry female.
Silvan frowns down at Cotton, nipping softly at her muzzle to let her know he's displeased, saying, "Stop it cotton. we cant just abandon her. and we dont want trouble with the Lazuli."
Larkspur's snarl of a reply is caught in her throat, deciding to save the fight for when Silvan isn't there to intervene. While the alpha may not want trouble with the Lazuli, she knows that starting a scrap with the Viridian girl may complicate the relationship between the packs. Another time, without prying eyes, this will be settled. Instead, she settles for a stony glare at the other female. In her eyes is the silent promise to end this feud at a later date. Her tail flicks irritably, and she says nothing.
Cottonpaws turns her face away from Silvan, not wanting to have any contact with her father. The girl suddenly gets the brightest idea to attack the other female, "Stop it? No dad..." And she doesn't plan on stopping. Cotton leaps, growling at Lark. She is going to lose this battle, it's like figtinh a bear considering Cotton has no training.
Silvan snarls as he's disobeyed, jumping forward to try to catch Cotton, planning to roll her over to her back and make her submit. He wont allow anyone in the pack to willfuly disobey him.
Larkspur braces herself for impact, jaws trying to snap at the airbourne she-wolf. The alpha, however, is a blur of motion and she can only hope that her teeth caught Cotton instead of the male. Her whole body is tense, waiting for the female's next move.
Cottonpaws os brought down by her father, wow, bet she never saw THAT coming! The girl goes down, the bite from the other female manages to get her left paw, but it's noothing serious, just her first cut. She doen't move, she just growls as she cries, glaring up at the other female, "Leave him alone!" Meaning her brother of course.
Silvan growls above Cotton, trying to hold her down, yelling, "Stop it, both of you!" glancing over at Lark for a moment before looking back down to Cotton, "She'll be going home as soon as Grit is ready. and I dont want to hear about any more trouble. are we clear?"
"Get over it- just because he likes me better!" Lark manages to snap in reply before she is drowned out by Silvan's growls. In response to his question, she is silent, unsure who the query is meant for. A final hate filled glare is sent in Cotton's direction with a snort. That's that, for now. Rest assured, the second the alpha isn't looking, this is going to be settled. The Lazuli girl sits in the dirt, her tail sweeping the dirty irritably.
Cottonpaws stands up, with her father above or not. The girl glares at him, baring her teeth, "Maybe Haze was right about you..." The girl growls to him before turning around and limping away, crying of course. She's a teen, she feels betrayed now. Sniffle sniffle!
Silvan winces at what Cotton says, trying not to let it show how much it hurt as he sits back down beside Silver, just watching silently.
Larkspur resists the urge to growl at the limping form of Cottonpaws. That's what you get! Feeling satisfied with her victory and a little arrogant because of it, she nods to Silvan. "I think I'ma go back to sleep now." Hiding a grin, she struts back over to Haze and snuggles up to his sleeping form, niiice and close. See that Cotton? Heh. The girl lays there, a devious smile on her muzzle.
Cottonpaws stops walking once she's far enough from them... Just in time to see that fiend resting next to her brother... But with dad nearby, there's no much she can do. The girl looks at her father from afar. Right now, she's thinking of walking away forever, or for some weeks. Sounds like a very good idea actually, "Good bye dad." She whispers, knowing he'll reach the message somehow. Then turns around and walks away.
Silvan sighs and lays his head down on his paws next to Silver, watching the direction Cotton disapeared for a while before finaly falling asleep.
