Crooked Brook
Coinin m. Wolf (beta)
Tariro m. Wolf (alpha)
-----------------------------------
Coinin has once more returned in search of his friend. He hadn't really found anyone back home that he could bring for backup. They apparently had all wandered off. This whole situation is rather worrying. He would like to find everyone, and bring them back together so that they can all go home and see if anything can be done for Tariro and for his daughter. Maka is nowhere to be found and that is a disturbing thing as well. All around spring has not been the happy time he had hoped that it would be.
Tariro cant say he stayed in the area since the last time he and Coinin met, but he did make a point to stay close by ever since to took his daughter from the den for his neice to see. Out wandering about, its not all to hard to not notice the return of the packs beta from his position amongst the trees. Creeping up behind the wolf becomes a game, trying t keep as quiet as possible.
Coinin has never been one for games. Not that he doesn't like to have fun, but he has always a more muted form of fun. Even when he was a pup he was ultra serious. Which did cause them no small amount of consternation. Still at the present moment he is looking around trying to find his friend. Its rather surprising that he isn't here. He didn't think that with his small puppy that he would be out and about too much.
He was right too, Tariro wasn't far. He had moved in to just a couple paces from the wolf- so close he could take him down without notice if he wanted. Stepping behind a tree, he watches Coinin with a smile a bit surprised that he hadn't noticed him yet. A white wolf out here was like a cloud on a clear day.
Coinin probably would have noticed him if he hadn't been rather deep in his thoughts. The last few days and weeks have been rather strained. Something is wrong...and it seems to be spreding everywhere. He had heard from his bird friend that something had been going on with Ute and that they were in need of assistance, but its a really bad time with Tar being damaged, and the rest of the pack being scattered.
"You know, you should really be more wary of your surroundings." Comes a voice from the shadows. "Treading so close to a wolf's den.." Stepping out from his cover, Tariro peers at the wolf before him. "Your lucky we're friends." He chuckles.
Coinin doesn't really think he has too much to worry about. He has known Tariro for a long time and the other wolf would never attack him without cause. He might be changed, but he would find it hard to believe that he had been that changed, "I'm not completely unware Tar. I just have alot on my mind right now. Not least of all what has happened to you. I'm not sure what is going on but it can't be good...none of it. I know you wouldn't hurt me." he says turning to face his friend.
"You sound sure of that." Tar was very capable of harming any member of his back. He didn't really need a cause, he just choose not to. "Sometimes its a good idea to assume anyone could attack you. No matter who they are." He wasn't going to harm his packs future though, so Coinin was in the right to not worry.
Coinin isn't sure of everything, but there are a few things that he is very sure about and Tariro happens to be one of those things, "I don't want to live in world where I would have to think that." he says simply. No. There is no reason to believe that everyone you meet would be willing to hurt you for no reason. It would be no kind of life to live if you always had to wonder about your friends. Your enemies sure...but your friends...never, "Even with whatever happened to you I know you wouldn't hurt anyone without cause."
Tariro is going to let him believe that for now. He wasn't about to dampen the trust he's supposibly built up with this wolf for the sake that he was growing old and was starting to feel like in the bones. "Coinin, how far is the river from here?" Bit of a random question but he just remembered something and is curious.
Coinin takes a moment to think about that. Well its a good pace away, not terribly far but far enough, "It would take awhile to get there, not terribly long but if you were moving slowly it would take the better part of a few hours. Why do you ask?" he responds. Hopefully Tar is thinking about going home, which is where he wants everyone to be, "There is something bad going on out there. I'm not sure what is happening but Dawn told me that something is wrong with Ute. I didn't get the full story but she never tells the full story anyway. I don't think it is safe out here. For you or your daughter."
Ute wasn't exactly a name he remembered but his actions try to say otherwise as he hrms to the situation. "No reason really." He just figured that if thats where the pack had oringaly been he may try to swad a move, since a better portion of the pack was already here by the brook. "I didn't live this long to let the unknown become my end, Coinin." He says looking around the area. "If there is a danger out there I'd advise a move whether I was fine or not. I'd assume you'd do the same.. or am I wrong?" He never was one for being in one spot for to long anyway. "You know very well we've lingered the fork for to long. One becomes an easy target if they are known for one spot alone." It took them all winter to find him didn't it.. because he moved, plus the advantage of being white.
It took the whole winter to find him because Tariro wandered all the time. It didn't seem out of the ordinary...nor did they have anything to worry about back then. Now there is every reason to worry, "Anything that gets us away from the river is something that I'm for." He has his own reason for wanting to be away from the river, and it has nothing to do with the present situation...or does it? There really was no way to know. He was planning to get everyone away but he wasn't planning on leaving without Tariro, "And yes..I have no intention of staying there. There are other places to be. More secret than that. We can disappear."
Tariro hmms. "Disappear.. and where would we disappaer too?" He knew plenty of places but he doubted they could his an entire pack. Moving around and retreating back to the sleeping pup he takes a seat. "Our home at the butte served us well in the past. Would you have us move back there..." There was a den and oasis there so its not like its a horrible choice to return to.
Coinin shakes his head. He has been to the butte, and didn't like it there. There are other places that are more secluded and secret, "If we continue moving away from the river and keep going there are mountains and a platau. We could get a good vantage point from up there, and its secluded enough that it would be unlikely they would find us. The only difficulty that we would have there would be food. Though I'm certain we could sort that out as well. Everyone believes we stay by the river. When we aren't there they won't know where to look. We can do our best to cover our tracks and hide our scents on the way. We need to get away from populated areas. The more folks that are around the more we can be spotted. I can have Dawn find out more information about what is going on...but in the mean time we need to go."
The mountains.. oh yes. He remembers those days- born on a mountain he was. It explains his rough exterior and larger size. "Viridian Valley." he says after some thought. "It resides on the mountain past a lake. Caribou dwell there in numbers. She could have pups there at its den." Was his childhood home even there anymore.. would it even by how he remembers it. It'd be a new place for the pack, just him and.. Lexus remained from its earlier times.
Coinin doesn't know anything about a den, but the mountains would be a good place that everyone could hide for the time being until they figured out what they needed to do, "That works for me. We need to find everyone we can and let them know what the plan is. Once we are all safely there we can figure out what to do about the rest. We should probably try to find the Ute wolves and see what we can do...if anything to help them. At this point in time the more the merrier."
