Ahiga, Tala, and Ikuna, wolves of Ute.
---Waterfall Pool---
Spring is such a lovely time of the year, everything is blooming, animals all around which includes plenty of prey. Tala is making her way back towards the falls carrying in her jaws a fawn, that from the looks of it didn't live to long after being born into the world. Her steel blue gaze drifts over the area, tail swaying a few times as she takes the kill on towards the cave, slipping inside to leave it for Wachiwa and the pups before making her way back out and gives herself a great shake. She knows Chewy could use it more then the few adults, an there isn't that much in the way of meat on it to start with.
Ikuna sits and watches. Has he been here the entire time since Ahiga left? Nnnno. Honest, he's moved! He's even like... been to entire other places. It's true! He just happens to be here again now. Because... well... he is. Because he's done his hunting and something of a patrol, and so is left with the task of keeping watch over these wolves and this makeshift den at the waterfall. It is a very important task. At the moment, he's not keeping a terribly good watch, though; distracted by his thoughts and a pair of little birds in a tree on the other side of the pond arguing over how to build a proper nest. When Tala arrives, he glances down and wuffs softly in a greeting as she passes inside.
Ahiga is not in a happy mood. No he is not! he and Althaea have made it back safely from their excursion with the Cerulean, and unfortunately he hasn't had much opportunity to speak to anyone about it. And of course before he can seek out Skahla, he finds Hadir under attack! Well..not /exactly/ under attack, but passed out after having called for help, and what did he come to see? A Brutal wolf lingering over an unconscious Hadir. Not good! That was a little while ago though. Brutal is gone and Hadir has been sleeping since the incident. At least he's alive. Ahiga has been off to take care of business but now is returning to check on the young wolf's status. And as he makes his way to him, he notes both Tala and Ikuna's arrival. At the sight of them both, his mood lifts considerably. "WUFF!" he greets, tail a'swaying.
Tala pauses a few steps behind her brother, a soft wruff offered back to him and she bats out at his tail a few times with a forepaw. Her own tail swaying a few times in the process. Her ears flick forward, her gaze drifting up towards the birds arguing on how to build a nest which she finds rather amusing. "You alright?" Is questioned to Ikuna. Though her attention turns over to Ahiga and she grins while moving away from Ikuna at a quick trot, her shoulder bumping against Ahiga's and her head sliding down under his chin with a happy few wruffles escapes her and her tail swaying. "Where you been?" They did sorta have a talk when he came back and then she hadn't had a chance to see him since then.
So far as Ikuna's seen, Hadir's just been asleep! Not an uncommon thing. See? He's totally been gone from this spot sometimes, because he missed that part of things. Proof! At the moment, Tala may be coming back out of the den, but, rather more importantly, Ahiga is arriving! Ikuna gives a shrugnod to his sister, then turns and stands, crooked tail a-wag as he trots out to meet his friend. To Tala's questions, he adds, "You found Cerulean?"
Ahiga greets Tala with a headbump and nuzzle, a grin curving over his muzzle as his chin rests upon her head for a moment. Then Ikuna! Another headbump to his pal, accompanied by a rough nuzzle and a playful nip to his ear. "S'up Bent Tail," he jokes, will /still/ a sort of apologetic look on his face. It was his fault that that tail got all bent out of shape! Ahem. "Jus' been around," is answered to Tala. "Keepin' an eye out for Brutal.." He'll get to /that/ in a moment. Ikuna's question is answered with a nod. "Yeah. Found Niyt first, then their Beta an' Alpha. They know mostly everything now. About the dogs an' where we are. Coinin or their Alpha wants to talk to Skahla, but neither've them mind that we're here." He pauses, nose wrinkling a bit. "Somethin's up though. Niyt was sayin' somethin' about Cerulean havin' clouds over sunshine..or something like that. I don't know what it is...just know it's not dogs. But there's somethin' going on with them, too."
Tala settles to her haunches on one side of Ahiga, seems she'll leave the other open for Ikuna to settle next to. She lets her head press against Ahiga's neck, a soft burr sort sound escaping her as she seems rather happy at the moment. A happy Tala, who would have thunk it! A ear flicks at the tail comment and she smirks faintly. "Hey.. He got that tail saving his beautiful sister, it isn't /that/ bad." She offers while sticking her tongue out at Ahiga. A brow lifts though as he brings up Brutal and she looks around. "Why you keeping an eye out for him?" Though once he goes on talking about Cerulean her attention goes back to him and she hums softly. "Niyt I think is like her brother.. Can see stuff."
Ikuna returns Ahiga's headbump and nuzzle with a grin. Bent Tail, huh? He snorts in demi-amused fashion, and chomps at the side of Ahiga's cheek in revenge before stepping back a half-step to listen to the report. First of all... Brutal? Ikuna frowns. What has he done now? He'd- Okay, news of Cerulean. Good, they've been found... yeah, no wonder they want to talk to Skahla. "Skahla's rested some. Do they want him to go to them, or are they comin' here?" As for the rest... clouds over sunshine, huh? Uhhhhhh.
Ahiga snickers at Tala's comment regarding Ikuna's tail. "Yeah, I like it. Gives him..uh...character," he replies in an amused tone. But back to seriousness! "Coinin said he'd come see him, so I figure he's comin' to us. An', oh! Speakin' of Niyt's brother," he says, ears perking as if just remembering. "Remember that dog that came here a while ago? The one we chased off?" he looks to Tala. "Guess what? That dog is Anoki's friend. /Close/ friend if I was understandin' Niyt right." He makes a face and shudders his shoulders a bit. Yuck. As for Brutal. "He did somethin' to Hadir. I dunno what. But Hadir called for help...I barely even heard'm and I wasn't too far away. Anyway, when I got here, he was layin' on the ground an' Brutal was close. He turned and left before I could get to'm."
Tala grins at Ikuna and then glances back to Ahiga, she blinks a moment, her nose twitching and a faint oy escapes her. "I bet Anoki isn't too happy with me at the moment then hum?" She questions, a faint shake of her head seen. "I was sorta wondering if perhaps I jumped before I thought everything through.." Could Tala actually feel bad for what she did? Why yes is /is/ possible! A glance is sent back towards Ahiga and she blinks a moment. She soon grumbles. "I never did trust that wolf." So much for her learning from a mistake!
"We shouldn't have chased her," says Ikuna with a frown. "Not just 'cause she's Anoki's friend. But... well. If there's wolves good and bad, stands to reason there's dogs the same two ways." He lifts up his head - ears perked, tail raised slightly, gaze steady - and looks at Tala (who at least seems penitent), then over to Ahiga. "We should apologize. To Anoki, and to her." So saith Ikuna. The matter of Brutal makes him frown again. Brutal... and Hadir. "It might just be... Hadir." Not that it isn't frownworthy just on that basis. "If he got scared, or something." And Brutal could easily have been scary, even unintentionally. Heck, a rogue butterfly could have scared Hadir! Still, the wandering in and out... "We've got to decide who our pack is, and where we're staying. Brutal... Grim... even Miakoda. They been hanging around without really having permission, 'cause we're too weak to want to argue. Well... we should decide. We should say, 'Hey be our guests', or 'Go away'. And Skahla should tell 'em." Because he's the alpha, right? So that's his job. One of 'em, at least.
Ahiga gently shrugs his shoulders. "Didn't see Anoki," he says dismissively, apparently not too caring of what their Cerulean friend may or may not be feeling at the moment. Ikuna's right. They /should/ apologize. But Ahiga isn't exactly feeling too apologetic about his actions, and saying sorry to a dog is not something that tops his list of things he really wants to do. But there goes Ikuna, all tail raisey and ear uppy, and Ahiga's not about to argue with him when he's in a gung-ho mood. Nor does he agree with him. He'll just pretend he didn't say anything and move on to other topics! Brutal. "That's why I'm keepin an eye out for him. I wanna know what happened an' it's not like Hadir's much use right now.." He glances towards the still-sleeping adolescent. He rises to his paws, stretching a little. "I vote Miakoda," he says with a flick of his tail. "Brutal 'n Grim can go chuck themselves off a cliff for all I care." He leans over to gently nudge at Tala's shoulder before pseaking to them both. "Been waitin' for Hadir to wake up so long I forgot to sleep myself. Gonna take a nap. If ya see Skahla before I do, could ya let him know what Cerulean said?"
Tala nods to Ikuna while taking in a faint breath. "Yes.. we should.. Or at least I and Ahiga should. You didn't do anything Ikuna." She glances towards her brother and then towards Ahiga, almost seeming to know his mood. "Perhaps I can go try and find Anoki and his friend and apologize too them then." She gives Ahiga's cheek a soft nipping. "As for Brutal and Grim.. I'm not sure what to think of them. They did help us, but since then I don't care for Grim's eye upon me." It makes her feel uneasy and bitey to say the least. "We we have to let Skahla make up his mind on that fact.. But I agree, Miakoda is nice, I think she should stay." Would be sorta nice to have another female in the group other then just Chewy and herself after all! A soft burr escapes her at the nuding from Ahiga and a slight nod seen. "Go on and get some rest, when Hadir wakes Ikuna or myself will be here to try and find out what happen. An sure, we're let Skahla know everything with Cerulean." Her tail sways and she leans close to give Ahiga's cheek a soft lick.
Ikuna totally growled! He stood near the cave and growled. That's... something. He frowns slightly at his sister's comment on that, because... there's another part, too. If he'd said 'Stop!', Tala and Ahiga... probably would have, without all /that/ much argument. So, they did the chasing, but it's his fault too, because he could have stopped it but didn't. "Better not go after her, Tala. She'll be scared'f you." Because growls and teeth and scary things! Hey, back to the topic of Brutal. Ikuna nods to Ahiga on that. Ah, Brutal. Grim. Miakoda. "Brutal and Grim helped us. If they ask us for help, we should give it. That doesn't mean they get to walk in here and act like alphas. If they want to claim this territory, fine... but in that case, we're leavin'. If they want to stay with /us/, they gotta accept that Skahla's the alpha here." That's right! Yeah! Rrr! On to a smile, then, for, "I don't see any problem with Mia, though. She's nice." And properly respectful. As Tala assures Ahiga that Skahla will be told and Hadir interrogated, Ikuna nods his own agreement.
Ahiga nods in agreement with them both. Ah, at least they all agree on this thing! Miakoda is a good candidate for their pack, if she wishes to stay. And Grim and Brutal? Ahiga would bite Grim in the face if he had the chance for what he wanted to do with Tala, and Brutal is just too ... alphaesque for his taste. They /have/ an alpha already, thank you very much! Ahiga is glad that the topic of dogs is gone. It's the one thing that the trio seems a bit split on, with Ahiga giving no leeway whatsoever on his own personal feelings. And so it's on a happy note that he leaves his friends, nuzzling Ikuna first, then Tala second in an entirely different way, murmuring something before he pulls back. "See ya later," he says to the both of them as he trots away, finding a nice comfy spot a little ways away from the pool itself to take a nap. Zzz!
Tala ear twitches as she hears Ikuna, well he does have a point there. She most likely is afraid of her.. Teeth and growls are very scarey things, especially with this she-wolf following up them. A faint eh escapes her. "True.." Is soon murmured to her brother, nose twitching a nod is seen to what else is said. "I agree.. But I don't think Brutal or Grim would ever see Skahla as the alpha." Though, she could be wrong.. She has been at some point most likely! Her gaze turns back to Ahiga, and warm smile is seen at what is said to her. She watches him once he falls asleep for a few moments and soon settles herself down in her spot, a yawn escapes her but she doesn't fall asleep just yet. Must stay up and wait for a few to wake up to speak with them!
