Where:
Dense Undergrowth (Near the river)
Who:
Althaea (Ute)
Minya (Amaranth)
-------------------------
The warm summer air has grown beyond the refreshing cool winds, making the undergrowth unbearable to take cover in. Shuffling through the thorn covered vines, Althaea breaks though the side closest to the river. High-stepping a few paces, she stops at the bank shaking out thorns and other foliage from her coat. Taking in a breath, the young shewolf steps into the low river waters till she's at shoulder height with its surface. She almost looks relaxed.
Minya had been sleeping on the other side of the stream until the air got too hot. After some time spent in the water, she decided to follow the stream. She can now barely see someone - probably a wolf - in the water and continues walking along the stream towards the wolf.
Wading in the shallows, Althaea glances toward the shores down stream. A bit of a surprise comes to view upon spotting a familiar figure making near. Watching for a few moments, she climbs back into dry land before calling out. "Minya!" She had thought the cougar to of gone home since she hadn't seen her in a while. Seems that's not the case.
Minya has actually spent most of the time away from, but not very far from the wolves. She stops when she hears a familiar voice and smiles slightly. "Althaea!" she answers. She starts moving towards Althaea again.
Althaea shakes out her coat, water droplets spraying in every direction. A light breeze sends chills throughout her body only to turn into a humid mess after. Facing the cougar as she approaches 'Thaea takes a few steps forward to narrow the gap.
Minya slows down as she gets closer to the wolf, and stops when she is a few steps away from Althaea. "Althaea." she says, pausing for a while to find the right words. "I think I have found what I was looking for." she says. "I'm going home soon." She smiles slightly. Home.
Found what she was looking for? Tilting her head to one side, Althaea blinks a bit confused. After a moment she 'ohs' straightening herself. "Really, that's great." Her tone excited for Minya, bouncing a bit to match. As quickly as she excites she frowns to the thought of never seeing the cougar again. "When do you plan on leaving back to Amaranth?"
Minya frowns too, not aware of the fact that she's thinking the same thing as Althaea. "I think I'll leave later today. It's too hot now. I wonder what happened in Amaranth while I was here." she says, trying to put on a smile. "I hope they're all okay." The smile disappears and is replaced by a frown again as dogs come to her mind again.
Hearing Minya's response puts a deeper frown over Althaea's lips. Why did it have to be soo? Why not.. she sighs head shaking. Probably best. It'll only get harder the longer she stays. Tail swaying she half smiles. "I'm sure they've all been fine." Cougars were tough and she didn't exactly know many who'd trudge up a mountain to cause a fight changing all that. "You better come visit sometime, okay."
Minya slowly nods to Althaea. "It's quite far away from home." she says after a short while. "But I will try to find you sometime."
Althaea smiles to this and nods. "I hope you can. If I'm able, I can try to do the same." She's never been to the mountain before so it could turn into some kind of adventure.
Minya smiles. "Thank you. I think you would like it there." she says. "I hope I'll see you again sometime, then." She waits for Althaea's response and then starts walking along the stream again to find a nice shade to wait in.
"Me too." As hard as it is to do, Althaea smiles to Minya with the best intentions. "Till we meet again, I guess." Briefly looking to the ground she looks up when her friend starts to move along the stream. "Take care, Minya."
