A sickness is sweeping through the lands. Worried whispers are spreading just as quickly, telling of friends and family whom have fallen prey to a severe disease that affects the body, mind, and perhaps even the very soul itself. Those with religious beliefs have turned to begging the spirits for wisdom to help them find a cure, a salvation - and rumors are being circulated regarding the location of a panacea that will cure the grave illness.

Beginning Friday, December 14th, you may notice an indicator whenever you connect that displays your current health and any symptoms you may be experiencing (the symptoms are simply described to allow your own creativity to shine through in how they manifest themselves). Your character cannot die or become disabled as a result of the disease in this plot (though you are certainly not prevented from having them die as a result of some other aspect of the TP). Please refrain from ignoring your status - in other words, if you are sick, do not play as being healthy, and if you have no symptoms of disease, do not play as though being sick. If you wish to have your character become ill for whatever reason, you are allowed to 'reroll' for another chance at contracting the disease, but you cannot reroll to become healthy.
[If you wish to opt out of the disease lottery and the TP, type '@set me=_prefs/tp:no'. If you don't set it, the program will assume you're participating. If you do set it, however, you will not be allowed to participate in exploration or any other aspects of the TP while it is occurring, as you will not have the required properties for unlocking new areas stored on your character.]
Everything in the TP is intended to be done through purely IC means. Gaining IC knowledge through OOC means is considered twinking, so to prevent cheating through alts or friends giving others information they have not discovered ICly, logs of TP-related scenes need be posted in the designated board, or else emailed to meadowsmuck@gmail.com if you desire privacy of the scene. Alternatively, you may also just send the relevant information-containing poses if you don't want to submit the full log, or else request a wizard alt to be present during the scene. Why? Because we have no other way of knowing if you've found out information through legitimate reasons without logs. Those who have RPed out the passing of (accurate) information will have a wizard-set property stored on their character, which will allow passage through areas that characters who have not gained the same information ICly will be locked out of. As a result, RP is not only encouraged for this TP, it is required for the advancement of the story, and the conclusion of the quest for a cure. But be warned - not all creatures (or even spirits) are altruistic beings, and deception is a possibility.
This is truly a MUCKwide TP, in that everybody has a chance to be involved - ill or healthy, prey or predator, solitary or grouped, everyone has a chance to help (or hinder) others. Characters are welcome to form alliances and assist friends or strangers, or lie and hide information from their enemies or those they feel unworthy of being cured. If you are healthy, will you allow those who are diseased to search in your territory? If you are a sick prey animal, will you trust the also-ill predator to help you find the cure? Will you pray for advice from the spirits, or rely on simply talking to everyone you meet in order to further your quest? Who will find the remedy and no doubt earn a place in the fables of generations to come?
This TP is intended to take approximately a week and a half, as any longer would interfere with the holidays, and we do not wish to have people unable to continue searching because of traveling.
Any questions, comments, or concerns should be directed to the wizards. Other discussion goes here. Enjoy, and good luck!
