Location: Viridian Valley
Characters Involved: Silvan, Silver, Cottonpaws, Keegan, Misery, Keraan, Haben, Sierra
Silver lies sprawled beside a springtime puddle, nose inches from the water, staring down her muzzle at her reflection, watching the clouds slowly float by above, the occasional bird mirrored in the calm surface of the puddle. She sighs to herself as the bird morphs in her befuddled mind to turn into some sort of monstrous beast, and then explodes. She closes her pale eyes tightly against the hallucination.
Cotton and Hbane come back after playing near the log, Cotton paces next to her brother, holding Lexus on her muzzle... She'll go get the hare later, when she's hungry or something. The girl is looking for her family, specially the other pups, maybe they too went off to find adventures and no one's seen them, at least she has Lexus and Haben with her, that's enough.
Keegan is settled under a shade tree across the way, sitting but quite wobbly so, with Nirra and Keraan were settled around him-- sleeping or just resting. The white wolf looked weak, more than before maybe, head low and eyes unfocused as he seemingly just watched Silver... do whatever she was doing. He'd had his fair share of hallucinations for the day, and was just trying to shut his mind down as much as possible. Block out everything. As if he was asleep on his paws.
Raan is neslted against his father, flopped on his back on his father's side, legs upward as he tries to catch..... Butterflies or whatever, simply batting at the air. He misses mom, and dad's been acting weird lately, and he's hungry!
Silvan stumbles some as he makes his way back to the pack, requiring most of his attention to keep himself upright as he walks. He's been away for the last few days, partly because he was lost in his own territory, and partly because he doesn't want the others to see him in his condition. He's glad he did too, as he's had several conversations with wolves he knew that have been dead a long time, and been chased by all manner of things he cant even start to describe.
Haben was a little put out when Lexus fell asleep after having a lot of fun with him, but was glad that Cotton didn't follow suit. Now, as he walks alongside his big sister, his happy mood is at least somewhat returning. He always enjoys spending time with Cotton, even if it's just a simple walk. He looks up at Lexus' sleeping form and smiles at it. Well, it was fun while it lasted...
Silver lifts her head at the sound of others arriving. She lays her ears back, staring off up the valley as though she sees something. Who knows, maybe she does. Curled at her side, Sierra shifts slightly, heaving a sigh. She opens her eyes to observe her siblings returning from some adventure or other. Silver's stomach rumbles angrily, causing the One to grunt to herself.
At the Curving Ravine, Misery howls.
Keegan's blank stare is suddenly interrupted as the wolf blinks back to reality, ears twitching when he catches the sound of a high pitched howl. It wasn't a wolf and he recognized it almost immediately, forcing himself up to his paws and turning north in such a quick motion, one might think he was hallucinating. He wasn't... was he? If he was, oh well! His muzzle arched high as he answered the howl with his own.
At the Viridian Valley, Keegan howls.
Cottonpaws keeps pacing, heading to her mother's directionm between her teet, she mutters to her little brother, "Go see if mom's alright." She continues her way towards her mother, turning her head to the howl's direction... Was that? Hey! It's dad! The girl waits for her father to catch up. - Raan quickly rolls on a side, getting all on four and looking up at his father. That... Sounded like mom! The pup rubs his head to his father's forelegs, whimpering softly.
Silvan blinks and looks up at the sound of the two howls, starting to turn to look back up the valley before almost going to the ground as he looses his balance. He growls softly, angry at himself for being so weak before lifting his head and howling himself.
At the Viridian Valley, Silvan howls.
As Haben keeps trotting by his sister's side, he suddenly notices the form of his mother in the distance. He suddenly stops in his tracks and his tail starts to droop a little. He still remembers that day where she acted all crazy and it still haunts Haben a little whenever he sees Silver. Still, the last time he saw her, she seemed to be doing better. Giving a nod to Cotton, he starts to sprint towards his mother and sister. Once he gets there, he first goes to his sister and gives her a small lick across the nose, then trots up to his mom's face, nuzzling it slightly. "Mom, you feelin' better?" he asks.
Sierra perks up at the sound of the howl. That didn't sound like a wolf's howl...but she'd never heard the coyote howl so she couldn't place what it was. It just sounded eery to her. She shakes herself, then gets up, tail wagging, to greet her brother. Silver's head snaps up at the sound of the howl, ears erect, and she promptly tosses her head back to howl a response. Afterward, she turns to greet Haben, smiling and nuzzling her son. "I am...and I think things will be even better soon."
Keegan seems convinced now, thanks to the howls from Silver and Silvan, that he wasn't the only one that heard the coyote howl further up the valley. It's enough to get his tail wagging, glancing down at the sound of Raan's whimper to nuzz at him, licking his face-- even if he didn't like it and would probably complain. "Your mother is coming Raan. She's back." He whispered with a grin, hoping to cheer the little guy up. It -had- to be Misery.
Cottonpaws narrows her eyes at her father, letting a sigh espace her as she sees that dad is apparently still feeling. . . Well, that way. The girl gets closer to her father, leting Lexus on the ground and nuzzling her father, "Come on, you need some water." She winces lightly to him, nipping at his closest ear. She was really worried, still is, but at least now she knows her father's safe. - Raan doesn't mind the lick this time... Hey, he needs one, and he misses mom, so he's a good boy lately. The pup nods up to his father, looking around... He has no idea where mom is, all the howling got him confused, but he can't wait to see her.
At the Curving Ravine, Misery howls excitedly
Silvan nuzzles back at cotton, looking down at the sleeping Lexus and wobbling on his legs a bit before saying, "I'll be fine hun... How's your mother doing?" before looking over at Silver, an ear perking as the Coyote howls again, "She seems glad to be back."
Haben's tail starts to wag happily again at his mother's comforting words, but all the howling going on is making the pup a bit confused. The first one didn't seem like a wolf at all, then his father and mother howl, then the non-wolf howl comes again. It's all so confusing. Looking back at his mom, Haben asks, "What's going on?" He looks over at Sierra for a moment as if to ask her the same thing. Well, whatever it is, it sounds important if his mom and dad are howling so it can't be a bad thing, right?
Sierra doesn't seem to know what's going on. She gives Haben a clueless look, then looks toward the howling. Silver grunts, sitting up. "Misery is returning," she says quietly, watching expectantly up the valley.
Misery has arrived.
Misery comes loping down the valley toward the wolves and her family, full tilt, putting on a last burst of speed. The black wolf has something clutched firmly in her jaws, a bunch of something, some plant.
It's all Kee can do to keep himself from going up the valley himself, but his dizzyness sorta kept him still (somewhat, anyways). He perks when Misery finally arrives, looking down to Raan and bumping him forward-- getting him moving as he moves with. Best to bring the boy along to reunite with his mother, right? "C'mon. I know she's missed you just as much." Easy though! The world is still spinning here.
Cottonpaws keeps looking at her father for some time, worried, wondering if he's alright or not. But what's the point asking, he always avoids questions, "She's ok... Compared to the other night." The girl to her mother's direction, ignoring the howling for the moment, "I think she missed you, we all did." So it was just a couple of days, but still. - Raan keeps looking around until he sees something moving. Perked and wagging tail as he sees who it is. And if he had any doubts, it right there when his father bumps him. As fast as a clumsy pup can, Raan heads to his mother.
Silvan nods to cotton, saying, "I've missed you all as well..." the last few days have been hard to deal with on his own, but he wanted to spare the pups from having to see him acting insane. He starts toward Silver slowly after nodding toward the Coyote, wondering what it is she's carrying, but deciding that it can wait till after he's greeted his mate.
Haben tilts his head slightly at his mother's words. Who's Misery? There are all these questions that Haben has for his mother, but decides against asking them all, thinking that he'll get his answers soon enough. He gives his mother another nuzzle, then walks over to his sister. He gives her another lick in greeting and asks, "What do you think is going on?"
Sierra watches, rather bewildered by it all, short ears perked. She looks back to Haben. "That's the..." What was Misery, anyway? She looked like a wolf...but smaller...and odd..."The...not-wolf...who was here before. She brought the other pups." She looks back toward Keegan and his pups, "Then went away." She didn't understand it when it happened, and she still doesn't understand now. Silver greets Silvan happily, nuzzling him and squeeking a greeting.
Misery skids to a stop at her mate and pups, her tail a blur behind her. She squeaks and whines happily at seeing them, ears pinned back and hind end swaying with the force of her happy wagging. She only stops a moment to greet them, however, before hurrying over to the puddle where Silver sits. She takes a moment to look around, locating a nearby rock. She nudges it over to the puddle and sets the flower bunch down onto it, then starts crunching the flowers under her paws. Her jaws free, she pants rather heavily now, tongue lolling.
Keegan gives Misery a brief but affectionate greeting, nuzzling the coyote after she stopped-- but she's obviously got something important locked in her muzzle. Is it the cure? Must be. "C'mon Raan.." He scoops the boy up by his scruff-- following behind Mis and over towards Silver, tail waggling and ears perked. Happier than he'd been in days. But still.. The sickness needed to be taken care of.
Cottonpaws goes back to pick up Lexus, holding his on her muzzle ang going finally to mom, but she decides to wait with the pups for the moment while Misrey and mom talk. Settling down on her belly and placing Lexus between her forelegs, "Abe?" She calls softly at her brother, "You told your sister about the log yet?" Sierra will love that log... It's fun! - Raan noses his mother when she's close, and he's ready to follow her but hes stopped by his father... So he can't do much.
Silvan cocks his head a bit, settling back to his haunches heavily to keep from falling over before looking between Silver, Misery and the flowers that she's crushing in front of them, eventually asking, "What are you doing?" the only way he knows to cure most sickness is to wait it out and see if you get better, so this is strange to him.
Haben looks up at Misery as she approaches. It takes him a few minutes to remember her, but Sierra's words help and he soon realizes who she is. He gives a nod to Sierra and looks up at Cotton as she approaches. At her words, Haben jumps up to his paws with his tail wagging madly behind him. "Oh ya! Me and Lexus found this /really/ cool log today! It was kinda creepy and stuff but when you yelled inside of it, it talked back to you! It was called an, umm... an echo! It was really cool, I'll have to show you and 'Trey sometime!!" Why should he be the only one to enjoy the log when he has his brothers and sisters to show it to?!
Sierra smiles brightly at Haben, "That sounds great!" She has a moment of guilt about the hidey hole Trey found that he said they should keep secret, but SHE hasn't even seen it yet, so she decides she shouldn't feel too bad about it right now. Besides, everyone seems so excited. She looks around at the adults, standing close to her brother. Silver watches Misery curiously, head cocked, as she performs such strange actions. What was that crazy coyote DOING?
Misery keeps it up until she's smashed the flowers into powdery bits. She then brushes them into the puddle and stares down at the water, ears perked, eyes wide, as though expecting it to turn fancy colors. She just waits, staring, while the others look on and boggle, then finally she looks up at Silvan, grinning brightly, tail wagging. "The cure! Drink the water!" she proclaims, plopping back onto her rump, still panting, but quite happy.
Keegan watches the whole goings on curiously-- tail slowly coming to a halt in it's waggling. Head tilting, he edges closer to the water's edge to take a sniff. Hmm.. Nothing odd about the smell. He leans down a plops Raan onto the grass, having been holding the sick pup the entire time; to save him the trouble of walking :P. -That's- the cure? He glances up to the coyote, then back to the water-- leaning in to sniff again.. then lap at the mixture. Tasted like normal water. Mainly.
Just like the pups, Cotton stays out of the others' business, trying to keep the pup entertained while they work on the aparent cure, whatever that thing/flower does. Cotton noses Sierra's back, chuckling softly, "You should come with us tomorrow Sierra, first one who gets inside the log for the longer time wins a special prize." She'll come up with something. When Misery says that the water is the cure, her ears perk up, wondering if it's true... Sounds like such a simple thing. - Raan is finally on the ground again, all thanks to super dad express! The pup watches his father walk away to the magic water, following right behind him. Hmmm, interesting, will that make everyone feel better? He wonders what the water will do for him, he wasn't sick, right? Just really tired and all. Ok, if dad did it, why can't he. Raan stops next to his father, looking down and drinking some water.
Silvan blinks and cocks his head, looking down at the water for a moment, then over at Keegan and Raan as they drink. after a moment he nudges Silver toward the water, looking back at Cotton to say, "Come get some of this hun, I know you've been sick." He waits though, in case there's not enough for everyone he wants to be sure that the others get some, he'll go without if it comes to that.
Haben gets even more excited when Cotton mentions some sort of contest for them. Ohhhh, and there's a /special/ prize for whoever wins. Count Haben in! "That would be so fun! You gotta come with us Sierra." he says happily, giving her another lick on the nose. His attention is slightly drawn over to the 'non-wolf' as she mentions some type of cure. His head slightly tilts at this and he looks at Sierra with a confused look on his face. "Cure for what?" he asks. His question is soon answered by Dad when he speaks to Cotton. Wait, Cotton is sick! That's not good! Looking back up at his big sister, he says, "If you're feeling sick Cotton then go get some of that stuff. I don't want you feeling sick." She can't play with them if she's sick!!
Sierra listens quietly, trying to take it all in. She smiles at the mention of a contest. It sounds like fun...Silver tilts her head. This is the cure? Well then...she dips her head to eagerly lap at the water. She's tired of feeling like this, and tired of her pups being frightened of her strange behavior. She's tired of seeing things that aren't there.
Misery sits beside the puddle, watching, wagging happily as her family drinks, and the others drink. She did it. She may not have found the cure all by herself, but she brought it back and saved her family and friends. She's feeling pretty good about now.
Keegan drinks till he's no longer thirsty, which isn't really much.. How much was he supposed to drink anyways? It must of been enough because when he sat back up, his dizziness seemed almost instantly gone, the nausea fading quickly along with it. It was working! "I feel.. better." He certainly wasn't seeing anymore hallucinations, thank god.
Cottonpaws tilts her head to her father, shaking her head a bit as she stands again. The girl nods her little brother, pacing to her father first, "You first, there's plenty for all of us." She won't wait to see her father get worse just because he's worried... - Raan, just lke his father, gets quite a small drink, licking the sides of his muzzle... And surprisingly enough, he feels the same way, still with an empty stomach!
Silvan shakes his head and nudges Cotton toward the water, especially when he sees that it seems to work, saying, "Then it wont hurt for you to drink first..." before looking over to Misery to say, "Thank you for bringing this back to us." after a moment more he looks back to Silver, nuzzling her softly while waiting to see if she's feeling better.
Haben looks over to his mother once she starts drinking the water. Well it seems to be working with Keegan and his pup so it should hopefully work on Mom too. He trots over so she can see him and asks, "You feeling better now Mom?" He wants this stupid sickness to leave his mom and stop making her act crazy right now!
Silver lifts her head, licking her lips. She sits back, sitting quietly for a moment. She tips her head back to look up at the clouds...things are returning to normal, her twisting stomach is calming, she's no longer dizzy...She breathes a sigh of relief, looking to Haben. "Yes...Yes I feel much better now." She wags her tail, leaning down to nuzzle her pups, then looks to Misery. "Yes...thank you...If ever you were welcome within our pack and our lands, it is now..."
Misery beams. She's just a silly little coyote, but she saved the whole pack. Don't let it go to your head, Mis...She looks to Silvan, "There's more...I figure ya got more packmembers too," she remembers another white wolf who she doesnt see here now. "So ya just crush it up some and put it in water." She gestures to the bunch of flowers remaining. She then gets up and steps over to Keegan, nuzzling him and licking over his face, then Raan, slathering him with attention.
Keegan grins and nuzzes against Mis again, glancing down at little Raan as he finally got the attention from mom that he'd missed. "Oi.. Has he missed you." Kee'd missed her too! A lot! But poor Raan.. "Nirra missed you also." Speaking of the little princess, she was sleeping. Over by the tree. Lazy girl.
Cottonpaws takes a deep breath and nuzzles her father again. Seems she can't win. Slowly she heads to water, just a little water at first, then some more... It tastes... Like water, what's the magic trick about this then? Tilting her head up, she looks at Misery, nodding slowly to her. She hopes it all goes away now. - Heck yeah he's missed mom, a lot! Raan leap/stands on two, held against his mother's legs and nosing her if able. Oh, he's dirty! Not all covered in mud, but dusty, a bit.
Silvan smiles as cotton drinks, waiting a moment to make sure she doesn't need more before stepping forward and drinking himself, moving back to Silver's side and nearly collapsing down next to her while he waits for it to kick in, nuzzling her neck and saying, "It's good to see you doing better hun."
Those words are the words that Haben has been looking to hear for a while now. Giving her a smile, he nuzzles the side of her muzzle, saying "I'm glad you're finally ok Mom." He wants normal mom back now, not crazy and always sleeping mom. Turning his attention away from his mom, he looks over at his dad. "How about you dad?" He hasn't seen his father in a while and hopes he's feeling better as well.
Sierra wags her little tail happily. Everyone feels better! The magic water worked! The little not-wolf saved the day! She gives a gleeful little hop and launches herself at her mother. She's so happy she tips her head back and gives a squeaky little howl. Silver laughs, nuzzling Sierra and Haben, licking over their heads. She chuckles, and joins in, tipping her head up to add her own in her own voice.
At the Viridian Valley, Silver howls.
Misery lavishes attention over both pup and mate, sparing a glance toward her slumbering daughter. Spoiled thing. She didn't even wake up with all this commotion. Hmf...She huffs a laugh at the squeaky little howl, then tips her head back and joins in with Silver's. Plenty to be happy about, and how long it had been since she'd had a good sing.
At the Viridian Valley, Misery howls.
Keegan leans down to nudge at Raan, happy to just see the little guy back to his old self-- and so happy to see his mother too. Things could settle back to normal, and everyone was alright. Sitting up, he joined in the group howl; one of his first with other wolves. Seemed a special moment to celebrate, so why not?
At the Viridian Valley, Keegan howls.
The girl lays back down again after she's done, back with Lexus and looking at the others. Everyone looks happy and safe again, she's glad things are ok again... At least for everyone, she's still not 'ok'. Forget about the illness, her love is still missing, she needs him. - Raan frowns as everyone gets loud, sighing and looking down... Ears backing as he doesn't want to hear them, they're just so loud. But as he looks away from the howling creatures, he spots the other pups. Hey, hes not sick anymore, how about a game? XD
Silvan takes a deep breath as he feels the effects of the cure, he's still tired and a bit weak from lack of food, but his confusion and the feeling that things were wrong have lifted. he lifts his head and lets the breath out as a howl, joining the rest of the group in celebrating that his loved ones are better.
At the Viridian Valley, Silvan howls.
Haben is a little suprised at all the howling suddenly going on. He must have missed something important. Maybe it's about this cure thing? He glances over at Sierra for a minute with a confused look on his face. Maybe she knows what's going on? Then, he just shrugs it off, an tilts his head back and lets out a squeaky puppish howl. Of course it's not very loud or impressive but it's the thought that counts, right?
Sierra looks terribly pleased with herself. Look what she started! She bumps against her brother, licking his ears, listening to the adults continue their song.
Silver keeps howling for a few long moments, singing with her family as she hasn't been able to in weeks. Howling like this is a bonding experience for wolves, and so she carries it out, weaving her voice with her pack's.
Misery's howl stands out against those of the wolves' but she doesn't care, howling and yipping happily before letting her voice die and promptly flopping down next to her son, pinning him between her legs and grooming him. "Filthy pup! What've you been into?" she teases.
Keegan comes out of his howl to find his mate grooming his dirty son. Something.. he was sorta supposed to have done, yeah, but hey! He was sick. Give the tired wolf a break. "Misery..?" He leaned in close, but not close enough to interfere in the attack she'd launched upon poor Raan. Just enough as to not be overheard. "Should we go back up the mountain? To home? Or.." Stay here? They seemed to be welcome now.
Cottonpaws keeps listening to the others for some more time, but still thinking about her lad. Cotton rests her head on the ground, curled around Lexus, just resting. - Raan is about to walk to the other pup and say hi, but he's oh so stopped when his mother drags him to do what he hates most. But hey, he missed her a lot! At the reckless assault of grooms, the pup bats lightly at his mother's muzzle, giggling and grooming her back, even if she has a cleam muzzle!
Silvan continues the howl for a few more moments, tapering off when he realizes that he didn't hear Cotton's voice, cocking his head and looking over to her, afraid that maybe the cure didn't work for her and simultaneously angry with himself for drinking before he was sure she'd gotten enough, eventually asking, "Cotton? what's wrong? did it not work?"
Haben is only a pup and, therefore, can't keep his howl going for very long but he finds himself enjoying it with his family while it lasts. When he finally stops his howling, he looks over at his sister who starts to grom his ears. His ears twitch slightly at the feeling but it feels good and he gives his sister another lick on the nose to let her know he appritiates it, listening to the adults finish their singing.
Sierra is a LITTLE jealous of the adults' melodious voices. "Think we'll sing like that someday?" she inquires of her brother in the manner of pups who think other pups must know everything.
Silver heaves a happy sigh once her singing's done. She gets to her feet, shaking herself, and pads over to nuzzle and lick Silvan and then Cotton. There's a little spring to her step now, happy to be feeling better. She knew it would pass, but it was getting tiresome. She heads over to give the coyote and her little family some affection, though of course nowhere near as much as her own family, and then she trots off up the valley to hunt. Her legs needed stretching and her family needed feeding. "I'll be back with food!" She proclaims with certainty. Valley-dwellers beware the wolf tonight!
Misery chuckles at Raan, nipping gently and playfully at him, nuzzling into his belly and slurping over his face. It gradually occurs to her as she grooms her son that he hasn't made a sound, and she slows and stops, frowning a bit. "Raan? Do ya feel okay, baby?"
Keegan blinks, seeing his question had been forgotten over Mis' concern for Raan-- which of course made Kee look down at the pup in question and moves his nose in close. He thought he heard Raan giggle earlier.. Sounded fine then.. "What's wrong? Raan alright?"
Cottonpaws wonders what her father meant at first, but when she thinks about it, well, "I'm just sleepy." She says softly, nuzzling him and her mother. There's a moment of hesiation when she wants to stop her mother, but she looked ok, so there's no need, she must be wanting to hunt badly, being sick and all she must want to go out. The girl says nothing negative to her mother, instead she offers a smile and a nod, she's a bit hungry, "Sleepy and hungry, that's all." She says softly to her father, nosing him. - Raan raises a brow, seconds later frowning at his mother. He feels perfectly fine, maybe just a bit HUNGRY! But other than that, he's cool. The pup looks between mom and dad, then he just nods to his mother. He'd give a thumb up if he could.
Silvan nods calming down and watching as Silver takes off to hunt, looking back to Sierra and Haben before giving them both a lick, "Everything is going to be okay now. We'll find the others and make sure they drink some of the cure too to make sure they don't get sick."
Haben gives a happy giggle and nod at in reply to his sister's question. "Of course we will. Mom and Dad musta been pups once so one day we'll be doing that too, only better!" he adds and an afterthough. He notices Silver walking away from them but doesn't try to go after her this time, she seems fine now. His suspision is confirmed when Silvan makes his way to him and licks him. His words earn a happy bark from Haben along with his tail to start to wag happily behind him. "That's good to hear. I thought mom was gunna be crazy forever!" he only half jokes...
Sierra snorts at Haben, scoffing. Mom would always be okay...she was..Mom! The girlpup hunkers down and pounces her brother as though to defend her mother from his words, but is quite obviously just playing.
Misery frowns, ears pinning back, as Raan continues to not say anything. She sighs, putting her nose on his chest. "Will you talk to me, baby Keraan? I want to hear your perfect little voice." She nudges her son's chin. "Tell me what you did while Mama was gone...did you play with the other pups?"
Keegan glances between Mis and Raan, sitting down to just watch. He'd been pretty out of it for the past few days, but hadn't heard either Nirra or Raan speak. "Errf.. Mis.. You sure you should force him? He'll talk when he's ready.." It wasn't so much forcing.. but Raan probably wouldn't do well under pressure. Kee watched and listened never-the-less though, tail swaying in curiosity.
Cottonpaws says nothing more, she just rests on the ground, looking at the direction where mom left. It takes her a couple of thoughts (which are minutes per idea) until she decides not to follow, she's really tempted, but she trusts everything will be alright and that the cure actually works, mom will be safe. Her gaze remains on the pups, "Dad?" She doesn't turn to him, "Mom might need help getting food for all of us." Just a thought, maybe mom and dad need some time together. - Raan frowns at his mother... What's wrong with her? DAd's right, he'll speak when he's ready, males are wise! The pup sighs, asnwering to his mother with a shake of his head.
Silvan nods to Cotton, nuzzling the pups again before getting up and stretching out, amazed how much better he feels now. he nuzzles Cotton on his way past her, saying, "Take care of the pups while were gone." before heading up the valley after Silver.
Haben had been too distracted watching his mother go that he hadn't notices his sister prepairing to pounce him until it was too late. He gave a slight "oof" as he hit the ground, then blinked up at his sister. Well that was unexpected. Still, it doesn't stop Haben from trying to have a good time. He starts to play growl up at her while also trying to playfully nip at her chest fur. Just because he's on the bottom doesn't mean he's not going to go down without a fight!
Sierra grrrs playfully, pawing and mouthing at Haben, making silly little squeaky puppy noises as she wrestles with him. All is right in the world. Mom feels better and is hunting, Dad is hunting with her, everyone's better. But then she has a moment of pause, glancing over at Cotton...Cotton's upset. She falters in her playing, little ears splaying. What's wrong with Cotton?
Misery sighs, nuzzling Raan and letting him up from his grooming. "I suppose so...when you're ready." She gets to her feet and shakes herself, looking to Keegan. "Do you want to stay?" she asks. They have been welcomed. She saved them all, afterall. They couldn't very well chase her off now. And she was a first-time mother, so as much as she hates to admit it, being around others to help with her own pups would be handy.
Keegan tenses a bit, eyes looking off to the side-- looking quite indecisive over the issue. "Well.. It's not really a problem with me.." They'd taken them in, after all, when they could have turned them all away. Who knows what may have happened after that.. Looking back at Mis, the wolf offers a shrug and a little smile. "You trust them, and I guess I do too now. If they'll have us.. We should stay."
Cottonpaws looks at her father walk away, knowing it will be alright, and wondering how much longer before mom and dad come back with food. The girl nodded to her father, she'll take good care of them, and speaking of which, when she turns to see them, he spots Sierra looking at her, heading to her and licking her head, "Don't wander too far you two." After that, she curls up again, getting ready to finally rest. - Raan will be ready, one day... The pup is grateful that mom stopped grooming him. When the tormet is gone, the pup lays on his belly next to his mother, leaned at her side, yawning softly. Still hungry!
Haben is about to take advantage of his sister's momentary distraction until he realizes what it's about. He manages to worm his way out from underneith his sister and look at his bigger sister. She seems to be doing ok but she sounds almost upset. Well that certainly isn't good! He noses his Sierra's shoulder for a moment and asks her, "You wanna sleep with Cotton tonight? She seems upset." He lets out a small whimper at that, but doesn't move from where he is just yet.
Sierra already had that in mind. She getes to her feet and wanders over to Cotton. She licks her big sister's face, and then flops down to curl up next to her, nuzzling into her fur.
Misery smiles, leaning up to nuzzle Kee. "Let's stay then...it'll be good for the pups to have friends..." And maybe these other pups will show Nirra how NOT to be a priss. She flops onto her side, nudging Raan toward her belly. No regurgi-meal tonight, no, she'll let him nurse.
Keegan nods, running his muzzle against the coyotes'. "I hope they'll all get along alright.." They should, right? Even if the kids weren't all wolf, they'd be fine. Raan seemed interested in playing with them, and Nirra.. well.. she'd get used to it. <_< Turning back towards the sleeping coywolf herself, "Nirra will be pleased to see you tomorrow.."
Cottonpaws was getting all sleepy and stuff when her face is slobbered by her sister, opening her eyes and returning her a lick on the head. But as soon as the pups are ready and close to her, she curls around them, making sure they're not cold. - Raan liked the regurgi-meal! But hey, nursing is as good as it gets. The pup gets close to his mother, finally getting something to eat, eventually falling asleep with his mom.
Haben trots after his sister as she makes his way towards Cotton. That's right, can't have a sad big sister now can we! Once he gets close to her, he plops down on his stomach and snuggles up close to Cotton and next to his other sister. After giving her one last lick across her nose, Haben lays his head down between his front paws and drifts off to sleep with the comfort and warmth of his sisters around him.
Sierra smiles at Cotton, and gives Haben a nuzzle as he settles beside her. She sighs contently and rests her head on him, closing her eyes and drifting off.
Misery sighs softly, resting her head on her paws. She smiles to Keegan, her eyelids growing heavy. She's been running all day, and for days before that. It's time for rest now.
Keegan moves close to Mis, leaning down to lick over her tired muzzle-- offering one more nuzzle before the yote could go to sleep. She'd curl up with Raan for the night, and he'd take Nirra by the tree. "Go on to sleep.. We'll talk more tomorrow."
