The following is a list of a few things that we've seen plenty of and others that we haven't seen enough. Please don't take offense if a character type of yours is listed - overdone doesn't necessarily mean 'done poorly' or that it's a bad idea, it just means it's become more common than usual.
Overdone:[/u] - Black or white wolves - Characters that are evil or anti-social for no real reason - Purebred dogs, cats, or horses - Orphaned children
Underdone:[/u] - Dynamic characters that create interesting conflict (not necessarily violence) and/or long-term plot-oriented characters - Prey species and/or smaller animals (horses, rabbits, etc) - Non-mammals (such as birds and reptiles)
There's not too much listed at the moment (because you're all so good at coming up with unique and different characters ^^), but if you have something you'd like to suggest as an addition to either list, PM or MUCKmail it to me.

I randomly found this site while Google-surfing, and found it somewhat amusing...though some of it certainly doesn't apply here, I figured it'd be a good link to post under the Overdone list here, as a light-hearted list of what not to do with your characters. Animal RP Character Cliche Test
