Wooded Terrain
================================================================================
Heading away from the lake means moving into the woods where trees stand in varying stages of growth. The older trees are taller and reach to the sky while the smaller and younger trees struggle upwards towards that same light. Along the ground are bits of broken tree limbs and different types of shrubs and other vegetation staking their claim on whatever sunlight they can find and keep. Leaves rustle and grasses wave in the breezes that occasionally come through this area, though most of the surrounding air is fairly mild compared to some areas. However, when winter or a large storm hits, this wooded area offers protection to all creatures who can make their way to safety. The flow of melted snow from the south continues down the gentle slope towards the north, emptying into the nearby lake.

[IC] Malak
Evening is slowly settling over the area, Moonseeker had left some time early to check on the water level, which from what she can tell is finally back to normal. She is making her way back towards the den that Malak found to tell him the news. Her shoulder isn't bothering her as much today, her limp bearly seen as she continues on her way towards the den.
Malak has enjoyed the last several days of resting peacefully with Moonseeker. He woke up when she left to check on the water, but he has not moved from the den since then. Still lying down, he grooms himself periodically, and otherwise just sprawls out. It has been a very pleasant 'vacation'.
Moonseeker lifts her head and catches sight of Malak some distance before her, she smiles while moving forward closer towards where he is. "Evening Malak." This said while she makes her way over towards him and settles down at his side, her tail slowly swaying a few times.
As Moonseeker returns, Malak stands to greet her. From someone like Malak, who, in tense situations, can be so impolite to females and anyone else he considers weaker than he is, it is a very respectful, and perhaps even a little bit playful, gesture. "Good evening, Moonseeker." after speaking, he takes several steps toward her, to greet her with a nuzzle.
Moonseeker tilts her head as she watches Malak and offers a smile while nuzzling him back, a soft purr escaping her in the process. "The water level seems to be back to normal. Everything that I could find that was once flooded is back the way it was." She is sure he'll be please too hear this as she knows his brother is still somewhere on the other side of where the once flood was.
Malak is, indeed, glad to hear this. He responds to it with a purr, then asks, "When do you think you will try to speak with your mother?" How respectful of Amaranth's territory does he intend to be? Well, for right now, very respectful. It might have changed, at certain times, but he does not intend to declare war on Moonseeker's family or the male ruler here, so for now, he will respect their borders.
"I figured I would go speak with her tonight. I caught her scent yesterday so she's back." Moonseeker offers softly while her gaze drifts over the area before she looks back to him curiously. "Would you like to come with me to meet some of the group?" As long as his with here there should be no problem. If there is she'll deal with it.
"I'm not sure that would be very wise, but I'll definitely be here when you get back." Moonseeker might not think it would be a problem, but Malak knows that, if he had established a territory in these lands and some male decided to walk through it, especially some male that was obviously interested in a female who lived in that territory, he would not respond kindly.
Moonseeker tilts her head as she watches Malak and nods slightly. "Alright.. I understand." She can understand about how it might be strange for a male to come to the lands, but she has no one interested in her there so she merely figured it would be alright. Though Malak is most likely right in this area. "I don't think it would take that long.. Be it that I can find her that is." She smirks slightly.
Malak nuzzles against Moonseeker again, then says, "Just be careful." He has no idea what relation Moonseeker might have toward the male of these parts. He does know the male who attacked her is related to this land's male, though, and if anything should happen to her, while she's here... Well, his respect of AMaranth borders won't last long.
Moonseeker smiles and and purrs softly while lifting her head to nuzzle back at him. "I'll be just fine here.." She know no one will harm her in the family, and its not like she is asking permission to leave. If her mother doesn't like the idea she'll deal with it, and Kein has no say in what she does even if he is leader. She respects him enough but not enough to stay if she doesn't want to.
Malak gives a nod of his head. "In that case, I will look forward to your swift return." It is said with a smile, and Malak remains standing near her. He is not rushing her to leave, by any means. He will be glad to be reunited with his brother, but he will not push Moonseeker to travel any more quickly than she wants to.
Moonseeker keeps her smile and nods while she remains seated. "I'll go in a bit if that's alright." She wants to let her shoulder rest for a few moments before going about moving higher up in the lands. "Your brothers cubs and the female, are they going to return or will she be staying in this area?"
Malak sits beside moonseeker, running the side of his head against her lightly. Of course it's okay if she stays for a while. What he actually addresses, verbally, is her last statement. "I don't know. She and I... We aren't on friendly terms." And, of course, Malak considers that it isn't his fault. After all, she was the one who insisted that he tell her what he thought of her.
Moonseeker closes her eyes slightly while she enjoys the touch, she lets her shoulder press back against his once he sits down next to her. "I see.." She offers softly. "That's too bad, I'm sure your brother would love to see the cubs. Hopfully he'll get the chance."
"They were impressive cubs, but their mother..." Malak takes a breath, not truly wanting to speak ill of the brother he has traveled with for a long time, now. "I think he made a mistake in choosing to mate with her." Is there actual weakness in Aylin? There is oolishness, certainly. That is bad enough, and if she passes that on to her cubs... Then Malak would not be able to say whether hi brother would still want anything to do with them.
Moonseeker ears perk at this while she watches Malak curiously a moment. "Really?" She questions softly as she ponders this. "May I ask why you think that?" Well she is curious over this matter.
"I don't think she will raise cubs worthy of their heritage." Malak could be wrong. He may be juding her too swiftly. Bu he doesn't think so.
Moonseeker watches him a moment, a brow lifting before she nods. "I see.." Is said softly. "Perhaps your brother's genes will show through enough so they still meet there potentional."
"I hope so." Malak's views may be cruel... But, right now, he is very glad that he did not give into Aylin wishes, those several months ago, especially since he doubts she would be more willing to take his advice even if they were his cubs.
