Summer. It brings sunlight, longer days -- and heat. As a particularly fertile spring, for both flora and fauna, draws nearer to its end, inhabitants on and around the vicinity of Snow Crest Mountain have noticed unusual rumblings reverberating through its rocky slopes. Is it the growls of an angry spirit, trapped within its stony core? The sounds of the earth's very shell ripping in two? Or are the bright rays of sun melting away the thick icy peaks that give the mountain its name?
This will be another truly MUCKwide TP, in that everybody has a chance to be involved - prey or predator, solitary or grouped, mountain or desert-dwelling, everyone has a chance to interact with others they might never have otherwise and have their character develop as a result. When the ice melts, where will you seek cover from the inevitable floodings? Will you help others with young or injured family, or take advantage of the disastrous situation? No matter what your intentions, we hope that everyone will have as much fun with this free-form TP as they did with last year's structured one.
Be sure to join us for what promises to be a unique and interesting RP experience! If you have any questions, feel free to discuss them on this thread.

The flood has started! As you may or may not have already noticed, certain areas of the grid have been flooded and are no longer accessible by most. Note I said 'most', not 'all' -- because as an extra twist of interactive fun on top of the TP, animals who can fly or swim can still enter or cross the rooms that have been flooded. As a result of the southern river flooding, the IC grid has essentially been cut in half -- meaning that whichever side you're on now, you're stuck until the flooding subsides...unless you have wings, can swim, or are small enough to be carried across the river's deep level and fast current (such as on the back of a horse). [As the majority of our player-species are animals that cannot cross, this also has the beneficial effect of encouraging less common species to be created for roleplay purposes in this TP.] Obviously, it's easy to get around this by mjoining someone else or just teleporting out to a new area, but the admin hope that players will just roll with this storyline for a couple of weeks and enjoy the IC inconveniences and conflicts it causes instead of ignoring the flood completely. True RPers will appreciate the plot and have fun with it. ^.- The flooded areas have been swept, so if you find yourself at Player Start, I apologize for any inconvenience -- though it's not as if you didn't have ample warning, and it's better than drowning. If you're in this situation, I'd suggest just picking whichever side is more likely for your character to be on and sticking with it. If you have questions or problems (such as being a species that you believe should be able to cross but cannot), feel free to ask myself or another wizard. Have fun! Edit: I've uploaded a quickly-made map that shows the flooded areas here. Fear my squiggly flood of doom!
