Halidari- adol. female wolf
Seven- male wolf
Toban- adol. male wolf
Since she had been adopted by Halidari into the Lazuli pack, Johari has been doing noticeably better off than she had been doing by herself. She is looking by far much more healthier then she had been at winter's start and she's even been growing! Heck, even her fear of wolves has been starting to decrease. After spending an entire winter with them and coming out unharmed, it's only natural. And it's all thanks to Halidari. If it wasn't for her, Johari could very well be dead right now. Someday when she's older, she'll have to make it up to Hali for saving her life... somehow. As for now, however, Johari has been off exploring the lands around her and trying to get familiar with it, since she actually can now that it's spring. She had been up for a long time and was now heading back to the den to grab a quick nap and head back out. She hasn’t yet heard that the Alpha's and the Beta's had pups only a few days ago.
Halidari was outside today, but that was long ago. Since she has been inside the cave she meet up with her mother and Miakoda. She had missed the whole thing, but maybe it was for the best. Having nearly forgotten the whole mishap after having seen the newest addition to her family and getting to name one of them, there was only one thing she could find herself doing - planning. Laying near her family, keeping an eye on everything and thinking of all and nothing she waits. Everyone is asleep now but her, what to do now.
Johari is quick to get back to the den and the first thing she notices is Halidari laying down next to two, apparently sleeping females. Quickly forgetting about any type of sleep for the moment, Johari calls out, "Hali!" and bounds off towards her favorite wolf. Once she gets to her, Johari nuzzles up against of Hali like she always does. Just think of it as a way of saying thank you a million times. "How've you been, and..." she pauses to sniff the air for a bit, then says, "...what's with that smell." Only /now/ does she notice that something smells different in the den. Huh, wonder what it could be...
Not expecting to have Johari come in on her, Hali is taken by surprise with the nuzzling. "Hey Johari." she says shocked giving the nuzzles back. It’s been a while since she last saw the fox, she wanders what she's been up to, but the moment she tries to ask, she blinks tilting her head. Sniffing the air, she hadn't noticed it before but it does indeed smell different in here. "I'm not sure. I hadn't noticed it before." Amazing what you notice when someone points it out. "Oh, by the way, have you seen the new addition to the pack yet?" Of course the fox hasn't; It’s not everyday you see a fox walk up to see wolf pups.
If the thought of coming on a little too hard ever crossed Johari's mind, she makes no indication of it. Halidari is still the only wolf Johari fully trusts around here and she feels much safer when Hali is around. At the wolf's question, the foxgirl turns around to see what she means only to /finally/ catch a glimpse of the pups resting peacefully by their mothers, one of which she recognizes as Hali's mom. "No I hadn’t" she says while walking over towards them to get a better look but making sure to keep quiet so as not to wake anyone up. Once she gets there, Johari can feel her heart melting. "Aww, they're so cute!" At least in their own special way. The thing that catches Johari by surprise is that they don't really even look like wolves. Huh, that's weird. "Are you sure that they're wolves because they don't look like it." she asks quietly to Halidari. Ahh, the mind of a child.
Halidari said they looked cute too, course her return to them was far better. "I know." It was a shame that they were sleeping, but there'll be other chances right. Watching Johari carefully while she says close to the put she blinks at the rather odd questions she asks. Stepping up behind the fox she looks down. "Sure they are. Their suppose to look like that." As far as she was aware they were. "I use to look like that..." she peers down to Joha. "..and look at me now. I didn't turn out half bad did I?" For a wolf. A chuckle escapes her lips as she steps back.
Oh hell no, she didn't turn out half bad, Seven knows it, that's why he likes her, "Half bad?" The wolf comes from the west, looking down at the fox with a smile, "She actually got the two halves quite... decent." The wolf says with a chuckle, walking to Hali's direction but looking around for a moment. M'k, so who's here and ... He doesn't know everyone, but ok, he's used to that, "They look like that when they're small, in time, some get good looks." Like Hali, "And some end up being quite a mess." Like himself.
Toban pads in quietly from the north, head down and gaze stern. As the young male nears, his ears perk forward to the sound of chatter. An exasperated sigh huffs from his nose as he begins making a wider arc to avoid company, until he hears his sister and a male complimenting her. He shifts his course to near the group, looking less than pleasant.
Johari continues to look down at the pup sleeping figures. It's hard for her to believe that one day those small things will turn into a big wolf. But if Hali says it, then it must be true! The foxgirl lets out a small giggle at Hali's comment about herself and is about to answer back when someone else beats her to it. She peers around Hali to see who it is only to see another wolf. Johari, out of instinct, moves a tad bit closer to Halidari before she listens to the male. Strange, she's never seen him around here before. Once he's done talking, Johari looks up at Hali and asks, "Who is he? Is he from here? Do you know him? Is he your boyfriend?" So many questions and so little time!!
And so another shows up from behind; seems today just happens to be one of those days where people do that. Flicking her ears back at the sound of Seven's voice she raises a brow turning back to see him. "I suppose to should take that as a compliment." Hali chuckles, knowing that he was referring to himself when he brings up 'ending up being quite the mess' she just head shakes. She doesn't think he's a mess, sometimes maybe, but she couldn't imagine seeing him any other way. Turning back to Johari she smirks. "See." Just then a sudden act of blinks is seen upon Hali when it appears Johari hasn't meet Seven before. Looking to Seven she shrugs then turns back to the fox. "This is Seven. You meet him the day we were to come here, remember." As for the other questions, Hali looks a tad empty headed. He's not really from here, and as for being her boyfriends; that’s under advisement. Letting them go unanswered, she chuckles to herself.
Seven chuckles softly at the millionquestions fox. He remembers the little fox, Hali's apparent child, he was there when she promised her mother to she'd protect the little creature, aside from that, he doesn't really know much of the pup. Seven chuckles at Johari anyway, settling down on his haunches a fair distance away, "I'm her uncle." He says with a chuckle, winking at Hali for a moment, "I come here from time to time, checking how she's doing. She told me she had a new friend she wanted me to meet... I suppose you're that friend, right pup?" The wolf looks at Johari, offering a smile.
Toban continues his stalk towards the cave. The little vixen's question puts the male on edge as he steps beyond the entrance. Head lowered and ears slightly back, his is a posture bordering on aggressive. Taking in the situation he quickens his pace and attempts to push past the unknown male and step between him and his sister.
Huh? She's met him before? Johari tries to think back to the day Halidari mentions to try to remember seeing him. It takes a minute or two for her to finally remember who he is. He was there for only a short amount of time and Johari only wanted to get out of the cold then so it's natural she didn't remember. And if Hali know him - he's her uncle apparently - then he must be alright. She gives Seven a friendly smile and says, "Hey there, I'm Johari. Nice to meet y-" But that's all Johari gets out before she catches Toban in her sights and, by the way he looks, he looks angry. Giving a quick yelp of surprise, Johari quickly goes and hides under Halidari. Let's see that angry wolf get to her /now/!!
Halidari gives one of those 'what are you talking about' look towards Seven as he talks about himself being her uncle. She doesn't have any uncles, and she always thought he'd consider himself something else; shows what she knows, then again he is a shy wolf. And meeting a friend; she never said anything about meeting anyone and if she did she doesn't remember. "What do you mean you’re..." Stareing at him for a moment her gaze drifts to the nearing Toban and falls silent. Is that, no way... she's never actually said much to her brother, not to mention seen him more then twice. She's quiet surprised to see him but the reunion isn't how she would of predicted.
Seven tilts his head up when the intruder stands between him and his lady, raising a brow at the younger wolf, obviously surprised... That's not Hali's boyfriend is he? If so, blood shall be spilt, "I don't suppose you're the real uncle, right?" The wolf says softly, taking a step forward, he is not afraid and he won't let anyone stand between him and Hali, "You're scaring the pup, friend... I'd suggest you calm down and move to a side." Seven looks past the youngster, looking at the pup and smiling, "Nice to meet you Johari."
Toban could care less about a pup right now. He pins his ears back flat against his scull. Raising the ruff on the back of his neck he begins sizing up the fellow. He shifts into a wide set stance and mixed with a quiet growl he speaks, "Mine." So he's just a brother, but he's a protective one.
Johari's only response to Seven's greeting is a simple nod to let him know she heard him. Right now, she's more worried about this mysterious wolf that suddenly appeared and placed himself between Hali and Seven. And what exactly does he mean when he says that Hali is his? What a strange turn of events... For now, Johari stays silent, deciding to let the grown ups handle this.
What the heck is going on.. Hali blinks quiet confused on what just happened. Looking from Seven to Toban then back, the look on her face is that of just seeing a ghost. 'Mine' -- she doesn't belong to anyone but herself, get it right. Gezz. Curling a paw around the worried fox she gives a quick look to her before glancing back up. "Toban?" she questions herself. "What are you doing here?"
Riiight, mine? Seven raises his other brow, baring his teeth to the stranger wolf, but stopping... It's not his place, nor his pack... The wolf nods slowly to the youngster, "You're making a mistake friend..." He mutters softly before turning around. As much as he wants to fight that prick, he won't. Seven starts walking away from the scene, "I'll be around while you guys talk, in case someone needs me." He turns his head just a moment to glance back at Hali, offering a smile, same smile goes for the pup, but he continues walking.
Toban lowers the ruff on his neck and relaxes his ear position. The look in his eye says he isn't impressed by this scruffy fellow. Glancing back towards his sister and finally sparing a glance to the vixen he speaks. His tone is flat and emotionless, despite his posture, "Keeping scruffy no good tail chasers away from my sisters." He turns back towards Seven, "Horse fodder." He huffs and sits as he watches the other male leave.
Johari has skipped her pose.
Mistake... that all things ever are; one big ole mistake. Who does her brother think he is, coming here and acting like that with no idea what’s going on. Wanting to go right up to Toban and give him a good ear full, Hali falters at seeing Seven back down. What is he doing; what ever happened to the whole protective attitude and what not. Man, nothing ever happens here. Hearing her bothers words she shakes her head. "No good..." her ears turn back. "You don't even know him." All the more reason for him to be defensive. Standing up Hali tries to make for Seven to stop him from going.
Horse fodder? What kind of... Seven sighs, turning around so he can face the other male. Who does he think he is? In fact, that's the question... Who is he? Part of the pack or not, Seven doesn't tolerate any insults, especially from someone younger than him. But, even if he tries to think about it, he has no idea how to win this battle, he doesn't have a clue who he is. Oh, he's not leaving, at least not for now, "You should learn to listen before getting to conclusions young one." He starts pacing directly to the young male, "This scruffy no good tail chaser is her friend, and a friend who loves her and protects her. Now..." Seven flattens his ears, a bit offensive, "...If you have a problem with that, I suggest you say it, because as far as I'm concerned, Hali has no owner but herself, I would find it rude to say things like that if they're just lies."
Toban turns to Hali giving her a stern glare, "I don't need to." He looks back towards the retreating male, or at least he was. He pins his ears back again and steps forward, "Say?" Prolonging his glare and growl for a long moment, Toban waits. Finally taking a short step forward he huffs, "You lie to pups, you leave when challenged. You’re not good enough."
Ok things are getting /very/ interesting around here. Just who /is/ this strange wolf that decided to show up and ruin the fun talk that they were having. That jerk! Johari /wants/ to say something here to get this silly argument over with, but she feels too out of place and... well... unimportant. Who would care what a little kit like her has to say anyways? Johari is taken by surprise when Seven suddenly says he loves Hali. Well, he is her uncle, right? Or was that just a joke? Either way it's still a bit surprising to the foxgirl. Again, she stays quiet for now, but for how much longer she doesn't know.
Halidari is basically right in the middle now; the shield for both, not matter how flimsy or stronge it may be. She won't have them tearing at one another senselessly over the same thing - her protection. "Stop it Toban, please. I won't have you do this." Her voice nearly demanding. "Either of you. A fight isn't going to solve anything." She doesn't growl, nor take up and sort of stance. Looking right at her brother, "And what do you know about being good enough." A few steps are taken toward him. "Your never here, your always out there wandering, and how comes it's only now that you have shown up. How can you say he isn't good enough when you yourself aren’t? A brother is supposed to be there for his sisters." Looking to the ground she is nearly ashamed of him; just nearly.
My my, this IS interesting... Seven is not the type of wolf that would just go pick a fight or challenge some insolent dog that has a loud mouth. He is good enough, but in a different way. Seven takes a deep breath, calm down before you hurt others. The wolf looks at the kit, offering a smile, "Sorry I lied to you Johari, I'm not her uncle, I just wanted to play a little, have some fun with an innocent white joke, I hope you'll forgive me." After that's solved, he turns to the youngster, still offering the smile, "As for challenging you, I don't want to hurt you. I'm not the one who has a problem in this discussion." Seven stands grown, raising his tail and looking down at the younger wolf, "I'm not going to fight you kiddo, but if you persist and want to start a fight, no one says I won't defend myself, but think about it before doing anything stupid." Hali's voice is heard, but all Seven does is turn to her for a moment... So He's her brother? And to think he was going to attack the young one, it wouldn't have been such a good idea. His gaze returns to meet the youngster's, taking a few seconds to think... But saying something would just make things worse, so Seven remains silent.
Toban stands quietly watching the other wolf. His eyes remain fixed on him as Hali speaks. For all intent purposes he may as well be ignoring her. He doesn't close the distance, nor does he stand down. 'Kiddo' only gets an aggravated huff as he holds his position. Cocking his head is the only acknowledgment he offers his sister, "I see." He lowers his head and relaxes his posture as he heads back towards the exit, pausing at the older male as if to say something. He says nothing, only the soft growl of a challenge before continuing to the exit.
Ahh, so it was just a joke after all. That's ok! It's not like anyone died or something because of it but Toban seems to think it might have led to that. Finally getting the nerve to talk, Johari lets out a small giggle and says, "That's ok, it was just for fun." And who doesn't like to have their share of fun once in a while, even if it is a small, white lie. Apparently Toban doesn't seem to think like that. Once Toban starts to move away from the group, Johari finally stands up and gets up from underneath Hali. Well, that certainly was fun. -_-
Halidari doesn't like that look one bit but what can she do; he's her brother and it’s not in her to do anything rash; but watching him walk away like she hadn't said a thing isn't going to suit her either. Turning as Toban makes back toward the exit she head shakes. "Don't tell me that you /see/, cause apparently you don't, otherwise you wouldn't be walking away." If he does infact, however, she wants to know what it is he does see. After a moment of staring at him, she turns away. "I don't even know why I try." she tells herself. "Go ahead and leave. Not like I care." She hasn't seen him for months and when she does he picks a fight with someone who hasn't done anything. What kind of brother does that?
So like... He's walking away now? Where's the fun, the challenge, the loud mouth and the talking? Seven looks at him as he starts pacing to his direction, lowering his head just a bit to whisper at the retreating male. After the whisper, he stands still for just a second, then he paces to Hali's direction, looking down, "Can I help? You and your brother?" He has a good heart, even if he wants to kill her brother, he still tries to help.
Toban doesn't move forward or back for the longest time. The older wolf's whispered words got his attention. His ears remained pinned as he offers a very slight tail wag, a hesitant smile creeping on his lips as he turns to his sister, "I'm a coward..." His ears perk forward and he sits on his haunches, saying nothing else as if his admition solves everything. He shrugs as much as a wolf can and turns back to Seven, "Maybe I was wrong."
After Hali's talk to Toban, Johari starts to feel a bit saddened by the fact that her own brother doesn't seem to care all that much for what just happened. If he's never around here in the first place, what right does he have to suddenly appear and make decisions and stuff? Feeling that Hali needs some comfort, Johari starts to nuzzle Hali's leg in an effort to calm her down a bit. When Seven walks over towards them and offers help, Johari nods and looks up at Halidari. "Yeah, can I help to?" Anything to help Halidari.
A glance isn't given to Seven as he just lets her brother pass by him then made toward her. So now he wants to help her, after all this he chooses now to make that decision. No, it’s to late for that. If there’s one thing she can handle it's her brother. He may prove to be a brute on the outside but on the inside it’s quite the opposite. Looking up from the ground and to Johari. "Things will be alright. But I appreciate your help." Looking back as her brother says his last words, she wants to smile but is unsure if it’s even worth it so frowns instead. "You’re not a coward." He just needs to stop trying so hard and just be himself. "You’re my brother. And even though we may not see eye to eye at times, you always will be."
No one's right and no one's wrong, at least that's how Seven thinks. The wolf looks down at Johari, smiling for a moment. That little thing and she's still trying to help. He can see that the kit has a good heart. As for the brother who just decided to come back, Seven nods to him, grinning, "You weren't wrong, I love lying to pups." Maybe not to make anyone feel bad, but still something that makes him chuckle. Seven, now that the youngster no longer poses a threat, can relax a bit, settling down on his belly not far from Hali, looking at the kit and... Well, while the siblings talk, maybe the kit wants to do something else besides listening to them, "Hey." He REALLY softly says, "Ever played hide and seek, girl?"
